CRAVENS -- Richard H. Cravens, III Richard Cravens was one of few students to have access to vast collections of knowledge. The libraries, the universities, and most important, the great scholars passed along their measures of wisdom to Richard's relentless, inquiring mind. As a writer, he believed the relationship between the word and its meaning is eternal. His was the conviction of a man for whom the word and its meaning revealed the path to undreamt-of physical, mental, and spiritual capacities that might be acquired and shared with others. That was the path upon which he was set as a youth, and his footsteps never wavered. Richard's career included working for the Associated Press, as the head speechwriter and Chief of Media Relations for the United Nations Development Program, writer and editor for Time-Life Books, and writer and editor for Aperture Publishing. It was while writing the book, Health, Healing and Beyond, that he met T.K.V. Desikachar. Richard and Desikachar's book is a personal account of the teachings and life of Desikachar's father, Krishnamacharya. His experiences in living and working in India, and the spiritual teachings of Desikachar, left an indelible print on Richard, which has in turn been passed on to his family and friends. Richard laughed well, lived well, loved well and was loved in return. We will all miss him terribly. Richard is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Michele Cravens; his daughter and son-in-law, Astrid Cravens and Eric Satre; grandchildren, Harry, Clarisse and Lorelei Cravens; sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Juan Levy; brother and sister-in-law Van and Carol Cravens; nephews Baruch Levy, Noah Levy, and Aaron Cravens; niece Piper Wild and her children, Morgan and Ethan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Virginia Cravens.

CROCKETT -- Fleta Lucille Owens-Crockett, 86, passed away March 28, 2009. She was born January 10, 1923, to the late Harry and Francis Lilly Collins- Owens, in Alma, Arkansas. "Mother Fleta", as she was affectionately known due to her love for everyone, grew up in a family of five children. Mother Fleta was only eight years old when her father died, and 16 years old when her mother passed. At that time the oldest brother, William, became father, mother, brother and breadwinner for the family. Because of William's unselfish sacrifices the family was kept together. Fleta was always grateful for his incredible love. One of the long-lasting memories she has is of her mother teaching her how to cook, and learn she did. In fact, that is what inspired Mother Fleta to choose food service as a career. She was known throughout the community for her baking skills. Mother Fleta's confections were the finest. In 1998, following the death of her beloved husband, Robert Crockett, she and her sister, Mary, moved from Las Vegas, Nevada to Albuquerque to be near her daughter and son-in-law, whom she praised for the glowing love and care they bestowed on her. She is survived by her brother, Tommy Owens of Fort Smith, AR: her daughter, Fleta Maxine Jones and husband Craig of Albuquerque, NM; two grandchildren, Vanessa M. MacFarlane, of Dallas, TX, and Hugh (Geno) Jones and his wife Cindi of Edgewood, NM; three great grandsons, Victor LeAndre and Kyle David MacFarlane of Dallas, TX and Cory Lee Jones of Austin, TX; step-grandchildren, Dron Jones of Cottage Grove, OR, and Paula Jones of Albuquerque, NM; and a host of extended family and loved ones. Mother Fleta was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Crockett; and three siblings, Truman Owens, Mary Alice Owens-Hunter, and William Owens. Bingo, working puzzles, and working in the yard were her favorite pass times; however, an occasional trip to the casino to visit the nickel slot machines could not be ruled out. In her youth, softball was her passion. Mother Fleta was the model of love for her family. She taught them to speak kindly of others, and never tolerated gossip. Mother Fleta was one who would pick up the phone just to say "I love you." She was a blessing for everyone who had the pleasure of even the briefest encounter with her. Mother Fleta, you were loved and will be deeply missed. Services have already taken place. Those who wish to send condolences may do so at www.danielsfuneral.com Mother Fleta's care was entrusted to: Daniels Family Funeral Services 7601 Wyoming Blvd, NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505) 821-0010

HANNA -- BILLY 4-12-39 TO 1-7-2000 Dear Daddy, Well, it's hard to believe we would have been planning a great big party for your 70th Birthday! I'm sure you would have really appreciated that, considering how you always liked being the center of attention! I've been thinking about our lives with you so much lately - living in Texas, in New York, jumping the buildings (thanks to Mama)! The subways, Central Park, Coney Island, even Far Rock Away. Colorado when we told you we knew how to ride 2 wheeler bikes and we couldn't! California and the beaches, but our favorite place is here in Albuquerque. Remembering so many things...playing hide-n-seek with Dominic & you were hiding for an hour because Dom decided to watch cartoons! You told him you weren't going to play with him anymore! I think you were both about 5 years old! Blow drying your hair-you kind of looked like Don King! So many things from Texas to 2000 I remember. Thank you for giving me such good memories. You and Mama are the best in the world. I love you so much and our hearts are never going to mend. I'm all grown up, but I still need you. I'm really, really sorry I couldn't help you on that terrible night when our lives changed forever. I should have given you my heart cuz it's broken now anyway. Thank you and Mama again for being so great to all of us. Okay, no more rambling! Have a beautiful day in Heaven today, watch over us and always know how much we Love you and miss you, Daddy! I LOVE you! Mary, Angel & family, Dominic and family, Jenny and Family. P.S. Maybe you can celebrate with Archie Bunker and Ralph Kramden.

HASEY -- Dorothy Hasey When tomorrow started without me, and I was not there to see. When the sun rose and find your eyes, all filled with tears for me, I wish so much you wouldn't cry, The way you did that day. While thinking of the many things, we didn't finish to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time that you think of me, I know you'll miss me too. But when every day starts without me, please try to understand, that an angel came and called my name, and took me by the hand. They said my place was ready in heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind, all those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye. For all my life, I'd always thought I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for, so much left yet to do. It seemed almost impossible, that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays the good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared, and all the fun we had. If I could re-live yesterday just even for a while, I'd say my best good-bye and kiss you, and maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized that this could never be, for emptiness and memories, would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things, I might miss come tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, From His great golden throne. He said, "This is eternity and everything I've promised you." Today your life on earth is past, but here life starts anew. I promise no tomorrow but today will always last. Since each day's the same way, there's no longing for the past. You have been so faithful, so trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do. You have been forgiven and now at last you're free. So won't you come, take my hand, and share my life with me? So when every day starts without me, Don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here, in your heart.... Love always, Jan, Paul & Matt Fensterer In the most everlasting, loving memory of my Mom Dorothy Joan Hasey April 20, 1930- April 15, 2007 Always & Forever, in my heart. Jan
