Obituary for MARSHALL

Rosena Matilda Marshall, 93, a resident for the past 12 years at Larksfield Place in Wichita, Kansas, died on Monday, March 16, 2009. She is survived by her daughter, Karen and husband, John Kimmel of Wichita; grandchildren, Linda Marshall, Brian Horn and wife, Cara, all of Wichita, and Jay Kimmel and wife, Sarah of Luanda, Angola; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Jude Horn, of Wichita; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Bob; and seven brothers and sisters. Rosena was born in Pendleton County, KY and resided for 50 years in Roswell and Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was employed as an accountant for various companies, was a life member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha service sorority, was active in several charitable organizations, and served many years on the Board of Directors of the American Lung Association of New Mexico. She loved trout fishing in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico, spectator sports, traveling, reading, playing bridge, telling jokes, and spending time with family and friends. Rosena's favorite poem "Outwitted" by Edwin Markham is an indication of her loving spirit: "He drew a circle that shut me out - - / Heretic, a rebel, a thing to flout. / But Love and I had the wit to win: / We drew a circle that took him in!"
