O'SADNICK -- Cletus M. (Nick) O'Sadnick, 77, passed from this life on April 8, 2009 after a long, courageous battle with lung cancer. Nick was born and raised in Mendota, Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving honorably overseas in Japan, Alaska, and England where he met his wife, Kathleen. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last July. In addition to his wife, Nick is survived by his daughter, Valerie and her husband Tom Walsh of Overland Park, Kansas; grandchildren, Jeremy and Elaine; granddaughter-in-law, Jamie, and great granddaughter, Scarlet Grace. He also leaves a sister, Mary Rita; a large extended family in Illinois, and his beloved dog, Jeannie. Nick was preceded in death by a son, John, and grandson, Matthew who shared his love of airplanes and flying. The family wishes to thank the wonderful people with Presbyterian Hospice and the staff at Beehive Residential Care for everything they did to make Nick's last hours as comfortable as possible. We know that he and Matthew are soaring higher and farther than they ever could have in this life; we're so happy that they are together again.
