VIGIL -- Isaiah Ephraim Tobias Vigil, age 28, beloved son, brother, and grandson, entered into Eternal Life, Tuesday, April 7, 2009. He was born on September 18, 1980 in Albuquerque. Isaiah attended Chelwood Elementary School, Jackson Middle School, and graduated from Manzano High School in 1999. He attended the University of New Mexico on a Guitar Music Scholarship and studied Classical Guitar Performance. Isaiah was an accomplished musician and classical guitarist. He also played Flamenco Guitar, Harmonica, Dulcimer, Piano, Banjo, Harp, and Electric Guitar, and made music out of just about anything he could find. He loved all forms of music including Classical, Blues, Punk Rock, Flamenco, Jazz, Rock, and New Mexican Folk Music. Isaiah loved playing cards, specifically poker and blackjack, playing chess, and performing magic tricks. He excelled in archery, had a black belt in Shao Lin kung Fu, and practiced Capoeira. Isaiah shared all his gifts and talents through the teaching of others and performing for others. He worked in a number of schools, teaching and playing guitar, including Manzano High School, Sandia High School, Holy Ghost, and St. Charles and also gave private guitar lessons. He was currently instructing guitar at TLC Charter School with his brother Josh and along side his mom and dad. He had also previously been a Capoeira Instructor at the Harwood Art School in Albuquerque. He was a performing artist and performed at restaurants, parties, weddings, and churches. Isaiah saw beauty in everything around him and walked around with a song in his heart. Always quick with a joke or a prank, he caused laughter and smiles wherever he went and thought everything was "cool, cool". He had a way of bringing people together whether it was through his music or his accomplishments. He was always helping others, especially those less fortunate than him. He had tremendous Faith and especially loved the Church and his Saints, Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Divine Mercy. Isaiah, you enriched and touched so many lives and we will all miss you so very much!! We love you! He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jose Ruben Sr. and Gertrude Vigil; uncles, Armando Vigil and Richard Valdez; and other numerous relatives. Isaiah is survived by his loving parents, Orlando and Camilla Vigil; his sister, Naomi Ruth Vigil; his brothers, Joshua N. Vigil, Joseph Aaron Vigil, Benjamin I. Vigil, Jacob Vigil and Elias A. Vigil. Also surviving are his maternal grandparents, Antonio (Tony) and Inez Gabaldon; his godparents, Raymond and Antoinette Sedillo; aunts and uncles, Ruben Vigil, Robert Vigil and wife Orlinda, Roy Vigil and wife Matilda, Toni Valdez, Carmen and Allen Montoya, Victor Gray and wife Orelia, Rosie Vigil, Richard Roybal and wife Gloria, Joe Nestor Chavez and wife Angela Gabaldon-Chavez, Jerome Gabaldon and wife Eleanor; and other numerous relatives and friends. Isaiah will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those whose hearts he touched. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 1800 Martha NE. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Sorrows Cemetery in Bernalillo, NM. Pall Bearers will be his sister and five brothers. Honorary Bearers will be Jose Lacome, Chris Adams, Patrick Wilhelm, Travis Vogel, Jerome Gabaldon Jr. and Robert Adams.
