BLUMENSHINE -- Leslie Margaret Blumenshine, 91, died Thursday, February 3, 2011 in the comfort of her daughter's home in Albuquerque. She was born November 1, 1919 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Wiley and Bertha Medearis. As a young girl, Margaret and her family moved to Phoenix, AZ hoping that a drier climate would improve her dad's health. In 1937, she graduated from Phoenix Union High School where she made life-long friends and later attended several reunions, the last being her 65th. After graduation, the family moved once again to Long Beach, CA. It was here that she met and married Russell Blumenshine of Albuquerque on April 17, 1940. Their two daughters were born during their years here also. Returning to Albuquerque in 1948, Russell and Margaret established two dairies; one on Edith Boulevard NE and the last on Gun Club Road in the South Valley. Margaret was a true partner in their business. A few of her many tasks were bookkeeping, weighing hay, making and feeding gruel to sick calves, and driving the milk truck to the creamery. Her hard work and willingness to help in any way she could, kept things running more smoothly. In 1964, Russell and Margaret sold the dairy and made a final move to Los Lunas, NM where they began another dairy farm and later started a cattle business, which they ran until Russell's death in 1981. While living in Los Lunas, Margaret began bowling and enjoyed many years of league bowling and traveling to tournaments. She was also active in the Pilot Club and New Mexico Farm and Livestock Bureau. Moving back to Albuquerque in 1984, Margaret was able to travel to places she never imagined she would see. She volunteered at the Senior Citizens Law Office for several years and supported many other causes and charities as well as attending Immanuel Presbyterian Church. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren gave her a lot of enjoyment and she has been a strong influence in all of their lives. Margaret is survived by her two daughters, Mary Jo Tennison and Judy Bonaguidi of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Richard Lay (Vanessa), Lori Tennison (Rick), Eric Bonaguidi (Simone), Russell Bonaguidi, David Bonaguidi and Leslie Davis; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Ross, Kelli, Gabrielle, Kyle, Erick, Rody, Logan, Connor, Noah, Kaleb, Rilee and Hannah; two great-great-grandchildren, Isaac and Isabella; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her brother, Lucian Medearis; and her son-in-law, Richard Bonaguidi. The family of Margaret Blumenshine would like to thank Ambercare Hospice for their highly professional, but very personal care for her during the past several years. Her "team", Nikki, Christine, Bertha, Angela, Dr. Goldman, Chaplain Robert and volunteer Kirsty, responded not only to her physical needs, but her emotional ones as well, making the past two years so much easier. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 2:00 p.m. at French - University Chapel. Friends may visit one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd NE. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Richard Lay, Eric, Russell, and David Bonaguidi, Ross Lay, Kyle Tennison, and Erick Lay. FLORES -- Barbara Flores / Marina Mendiola In Loving Memory of Barbara Flores (Grandma) December 4, 1928 - February 6, 2010 It has been a year since we saw your life slowly fade away. It was so hard knowing that we had to let you go. We couldn't be so selfish and prolong your pain. You were the most loving and kind hearted mom, grandma, great- grandma that our Lord put on this earth. You taught us so much, from every day life to the word of God. You were the one we went to for advise, you always knew what to say. Thank you Ma Vita for being the best grandma. Barbara is survived by three daughters; four sons; 25 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchldren and extended family. In Loving Memory of Marina Mendiola (Mom) December 26, 1949 - February 7, 2010 You were the mom that would give anything for me and for your grandkids. You were the best mother anyone could ever dream of having. You were a living proof that a single mom could pull it off. You left us so unexpectedly, the day after we had just lost grandma. Its been a consolation knowing that you now longer feel pain or suffer from your illness. For all you did for me mom and my kids thank you, we love you so very much mom. Marina is survived by one daughter; one granddaughter; one grandson; three sisters; four brothers; and extended family. Its been a year that both of you left us behind, but it still hurts like the first day. It was a privilege and a pleasure to have such a wonderful, loving, caring compassionate mother and grandmother. There is not one day that goes by that we don't think of you both. What brings peace to our hearts is knowing that both of you are now resting. We know that one day we will see each other again. Mom and Grandma, we loved you, we love you, and we will forever love you.

SEACORD -- Charles Lynn "Buster" Seacord Jr. , 89, died at home in Albuquerque on January 30, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones. He was cherished by family, friends and colleagues for his inquisitive mind, gentle manner and wry sense of humor. An aeronautical engineer by trade, Buster was an equally avid photographer by avocation. Born Charles Lynn Seacord, Jr. in Memphis, TN he was the single child of Lynn and Margaret Seacord. After a childhood spent absorbed in model airplanes and an education at Georgia Tech he became a bonafide 'rocket scientist'. He worked during WWII at Langley Field, Hampton, VA for NACA-the precursor to NASA. There, on the beach at Wallops Island, he and other young colleagues designed and tested experimental rockets. In Hampton he met and married NACA colleague Connie Denton and in 1949 they moved to Ft Worth, TX where, at Convair, he played an instrumental role in autopilot design of the Air Force's first supersonic bomber, the B-58. Buster and Connie had two children - Leigh, a painter and university professor, and Lynn, who has been in the information technology business for 30 years. In 1960 Buster joined Minneapolis Honeywell's Avionics Division, through which in 1965 he and family moved to Linkoping, Sweden where he directed the implementation of a flight control system for a first-of-its-kind-very short take-off and landingSwedish military aircraft, Viggen. Buster and family lived and worked in Sweden and Germany between 1965-1970. After 30 years at Honeywell he retired with Connie to Roswell, New Mexico to enjoy its slower pace and favorable climate. After losing Connie in 1993 he re-embraced film darkroom work, explored digital photography and woodworking and was a docent at the Roswell Art Museum. During his life he took over 10,000 slides and prints, capturing memorable images of friends and family and life's beauty and frailty. In 1997, through involvement in Armchair Travelers, Buster met Charlotte King of Roswell, NM. They fell in love and married in 1998. The next decade of their life together brought much mutual enjoyment, including world travel; they living life to its fullest with family and friends. In 2009 they moved to Albuquerque to be closer to their families. Charles Seacord's death leaves a void in the lives of family and friends who experienced his discerning and kind nature. He is survived by his cherished wife Charlotte; daughter and son-in-law Leigh Seacord and Chuck Crespy of Michigan; son and daughter-in-law Lynn Seacord and Catherine Master of Minnesota; and his granddaughter Alison Seacord of Minnesota; Charlotte's daughter and son-in-law Carol and Bill Cross of New Mexico; her son and daughter-in-law Charles and Bonnie King of Florida; and grandsons, Chad King of Florida and Chase King of New York.
