Stephen E. Nelson, 56, born in Queens, NY on September 28, 1954, passed away after a brief illness on Wednesday, February 2, 2011. He is survived by his loving wife, Lynn of Tome, NM, extended family and friends. Steve was a lifelong Yankee fan and in his youth played Tripple A ball for the Rochester Red Wings (a farm club of the Minnesota Twins). He was a Vietnam veteran having served in the US Navy. Steve moved to New Mexico 30 years ago and worked as a supervisor at Goodman's Office Systems. He was an accomplished carpenter and craftsman. Steve played a tremendous game of golf. Steve and Lynn married in 1991. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a joy for living. He will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, 3:00 p.m., at French-University.
