Robert "Bob" Deavenport, 83, a resident of Albuquerque for 70 years, got his angel wings and flew home to Jesus on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 with his family at his side. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Lenora Deavenport; daughters, Lisa Delgado and significant other, Steve Baca, and Lori Sisneros and significant other, Orlando Garcia; grandchildren, Timothy Delgado Jr., Richard Sisneros Jr., Valerie Sisneros, Yvonne Delgado, Raymond Sisneros, and Michelle Lopez; great-grandchildren, Mariana Conway, Esperanza Delgado, Thalia Sisneros, Nasario "Roberto" Delgado, Alejandro Delgado, and Amorina Sisneros; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Cleve and Mae Deavenport; and sister, Arlene Wilkinson. Mr. Deavenport served in the US Navy. He was an ordained Baptist Minister. He had a strong faith in Our Lord. Bob worked at and retired after 21 years from Sears and later retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools. At Adobe Acres Elementary School he was referred to as "Grandpa Bob" by students, parents and staff. Bob's life will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, 11:00 a.m., at French - University Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM at 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Timothy Delgado Jr., Richard Sisneros Jr., Raymond Sisneros, Steve Baca, Larry Martinez Jr., and Alfred Martinez Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Lori Sisneros, Valerie Sisneros, Yvonne Delgado, and Michelle Lopez. Friends may visit French - University Chapel on Monday, February 7, 2011, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Should friends desire, donations may be made to any children's charity.
