Donna M. Worman, loving wife and mother, arrived in heaven on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at age 83. Dedicated wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Donna is survived by her husband of 63 years Donald Worman; daughter, Valerie Fladager and husband Ken; granddaughter, Alyssa Gold; great-granddaughter, Bronwyn Gold; son, Douglas Worman and wife Becky Abel and daughter, Jan Schroeder; grandsons, Eric Schroeder, Bryan Schroeder, Marc Schroeder; granddaughter, Danielle Schroeder; sisters, Edwina Hoffman of Apopka, Fl, Nancy Hartshorne of Elmwood Park, IL. Donna was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 22, 1927 and grew up in Chicago and Wooddale, Illinois. She graduated from high school in 1945. She and her husband to be met after Don returned from naval service in World War II, and they were married a year later in 1947. They began their life together in Chicago and raised three children: Valerie, Douglas, and Janet. They were married for 63 very happy years, a testament to their abiding love and deep friendship. Donna and Don left the Chicago area in 1978, for Albuquerque, and eventually Rio Rancho, NM. Donna was a gentle, loving person, whose kindness and genuine concern touched the hearts and lives of everyone she met. Artistically inclined, she enjoyed making beautiful handmade cards, Afghans, and hand painted ceramic figures, especially the delicate little faces. She loved to garden and watching the garden birds. She was most happy tending her flowers, and gardens. Donna was graced with a warm wit and appreciation for everyone and everything. She was active in many women's clubs over the years, but her recent favorite was her stamping class. Donna made beautiful, creative greeting cards that she gave with love to family, friends and church members for every occasion. A Graveside Service for Donna will be held at 12:30 p.m., Sunday, February 20, 2011 at Vista Verde Memorial Park, 4310 Sara Road SE and Meadowlark Lane, Rio Rancho, NM. A reception will follow at High Desert United Methodist Church, 4200 Meadowlark Lane SE, Rio Rancho, NM at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Bob Guido will be the officiate.
