Paul W. Having just celebrated his 100th birthday with family, Paul W. Tananbaum, passed away at home. Paul is survived by his wife of 78 years, Gertrude Tananbaum; his daughter, Paddy G. Levick: his grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Mitchell, Nathan, and Jordan Levick; Marci, Kevin, and Ted Powers; Steve, Erin, and Morgan Levick; and numerous nephews and nieces. Paul was born on February 3, 1911 in St. Louis, Missouri to Nathan and Pauline Tananbaum, the younger brother of Ida Markus and Marion Gordon. Paul moved to Las Vegas, NM in 1926. He and Gertie married in 1932 and moved to Albuquerque in 1946. In Las Vegas, they owned the NT Store and then Everybody's Store in Albuquerque, each offering general goods. Paul was a member of Congregation B'nai Israel since 1946. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and Elks Club. Paul served in the Navy during WWII and was stationed at Pearl Harbor and Okinawa. Paul was the most gentle of men, with a kind and generous heart, he really never spoke a harsh word. Paul's love of family was immeasurable. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at Fairview Cemetery. Donations may be made to Congregation B'nai Isreal.
