FORBES -- Joyce Forbes. Just after midnight on Tuesday, November 29, 2005, the light dimmed as Joyce Forbes passed from this World into the next. Loved and respected as a teacher, a friend and a mother (and grandmother and great-grandmother), she leaves behind the many, many people whose lives she enriched. A spiritual pioneer, as well as an inspired teacher and lecturer, she guided thousands on a path to greater self-awareness. Combining the teachings of Jesus, Carl Jung, and Edgar Cayce, Joyce led spiritual groups in Albuquerque, Pittsburgh, Indiana, and Virginia Beach, where she and her deceased husband, Wallace Forbes, helped establish The Edgar Cayce Association for Research and Enlightenment. In this capacity, she traveled extensively studying the spiritual teachings of diverse cultures around the World, as well as sharing her own perspectives. She interviewed some of the greatest spiritual leaders of our time, including the Dalai Lama. Born December 16, 1916 in Cleveland, OH, she grew up with her two sisters, Dorothy Moore (deceased) and Jeanne Swearingen (Encinitos, CA). She graduated from Cleveland Heights High School and attended classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art. She married Wallace Forbes in 1937 and gave birth to three children: Carol J. Forbes (Orlando, FL), Dana J. Forbes (Cork, Ireland), and Larry W. Forbes (Hershey, PA). She has three grandchildren, Dana Lambe, Shari Ciminella, and Lara Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Matt and Mike Ciminella. Joyce spent the last 25 years of her life in Albuquerque -- she loved the Southwest -- the culture, the history, and the people. Perhaps most of all, she treasured her relationship with Mary, her friend of more than 20 years. Joyce will be remembered as a wonderful spiritual teacher and guide. . . She will be very missed by all whose lives she touched, but we take solace in knowing that her spirit is free and that she has now embarked on the journey she spent her life preparing for and sharing with others. Please join us in a Memorial Service on the evening of Friday, December 16, 2005, to celebrate Joyce's life. For details, contact Kathy at 505-839-1759 or Carol at 386-774-5484. MONTOYA -- Marie Pita Birthday Remembrance December 12, 1930 - June 21, 2004 A model of courage, strength and faith. God saw that she was getting tired, and a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around her, and whispered, "Come with Me." With tearful eyes we watched her suffer, and watched her fade away. Although we loved her dearly, we could not make her stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best. We love and miss you, and you'll remain in our hearts forever Lilliemae, Tino, Nicole And Nicholas
