BYRD -- HENRY GEORGE ROBERT III PFC Henry George Robert Byrd III, age 20, a resident of Veguita, NM, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2007. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. While proudly serving his country with the Charlie Company, 1st of the 30th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division in Iraq, our beloved Henry suffered from severe heat stroke and shock, causing multiple complications and multiple organ failure. Henry passed and is now serving Our Lord with open arms. Prior to joining the military, he honorably participated in the ROTC program at Belen High School, where he went on to graduate in 2004. Henry was brave and determined to make a difference in this world. He was proud to follow his fathers' footsteps in serving his country and becoming a soldier in the U.S. Army. Even before joining the military, our Henry demonstrated his love and desire for helping others in need. In July of 2005, there was an accident at a local Allsups and Henry did not hesitate to race to his fire chiefs house for immediate assistance which improved the outcome for four individuals. Our Henry had many interests which included outdoor sports, paintball wars, car shows, but most of all he was happy to help turn someone else's frown into a smile. He also won the hearts of many children, considering them as his own. He was remembered well by his nephew, Anthony Trujillo and the rest of the YAFL football team, in which he would paint his face in the spirit of the game and cheer for the team on the sidelines of the football field. Our beloved Henry attempted to bring together his family, whom he loved, and in his death he has finally managed to reach his goal. His presence has touched the hearts of many and his early departure has left many confused and sad with grief, but his presence will remain in all of our hearts as he now lives in heaven. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, George Barela and paternal grandfather, Robert Byrd. Henry is survived by his mother, Yolanda Lopez; father, Henry Byrd; two sisters, Erica Byrd and Della Canamar; stepmother, Margaret Baca and stepfather, Peter Lopez. He will also be missed by many others. Services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Monday, July 2, 2007 beginning with a visitation at 6:30 p.m. and a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be his fellow Military Comrades. JARAMILLO -- Jude Michael Jude was born March 29, 1992 and taken away too soon on June 27, 2007. Jude is survived by his loving family. Jude is also survived by his step-mother and step-sister. Jude grew up a very hyper, playful, but loving child. While growing up his numerous questions about life and "what was this" and "what was that" seemed endless, but you didn't mind trying to answer this ever charming child's questions and his "ear to ear" grin could melt anyone's heart. Everyone would always ask, how can this little boy be such a gentleman? This could be answered by his opening doors for ladies and offering his help to anyone he saw that needed it. Jude was the perfect example of what every boy should strive to be. A young gentleman with a big loving heart. Jude "Woody" Jaramillo #45 will always be loved and greatly missed by all his family and friends here in Albuquerque. We love you Jude, Your family and friends in ABQ

MCDANIEL -- Stephanie Hillaker McDaniel will be remembered for her insight, intelligence, creativity, soft voice, light touch, quiet demeanor, sympathetic ear, ready humor, and most especially for her caring heart. She died at her home in Albuquerque on June 28, after fighting ovarian cancer for two and a half years. Born to Harry James Hillaker and Betty Devaney Hillaker in Fort Worth, TX, she grew up in Fort Worth with her three younger sisters and two younger brothers. They recall what a hard act she was to follow. From 1963-66 she attended the University of Texas at Austin where she was in the honors program. She studied engineering science as one of only two women in the engineering department at the time. At UT Austin she met Dillon Heierman McDaniel, whom she married on June 4, 1966. Stephanie and Dillon moved to Albuquerque in fall 1973. She devoted her life to her husband, children, family, and friends. Seven children, whom she considered her angels, were fortunate to call her Mom. Her husband survives her, as do all of their children, who share their sorrow with their spouses: Karen and Wade Vaught (Albuquerque), Gina and David Tarver (Austin), Dillon and Laurie McDaniel (Sheffield, Ala.), Melissa and Chris Dracup (Albuquerque), Mary McDaniel Clum and Tristan Clum (Albuquerque), Katie and Marti Sarber (Washington, D.C.), and Michael and Erin McDaniel (Santa Barbara, Calif.). She leaves behind ten grandchildren (and one on the way), who were the lights of her life: Hunter, Connor, Kayla, Quinn, Addi, Aleida, Max, Nora, Wesley, and Liam. She is also survived by her parents, siblings, dozens of nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and -nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Even the deep grief felt by all those who were close to her cannot match the love that she gave during her 62 years of life. She will be with us always through the love her family holds for her in their hearts. Please join us for a celebration of her life on Tuesday, July 3, 1 p.m., at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery Chapel. Donations in Stephanie's name can be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at ocrf.org. French Mourtuary Wyoming Blvd. Chapel
