Obituary for NELSON

Audrey Lucille Turner Nelson, age 73, died June 25, 2007. She was born in El Paso, TX, to Selma Weona Marbeth and Albert Logan Turner. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Samuel Nelson; mother; father; brother William; all her aunts and uncles. She is survived by her son, David W. Nelson and wife Kristin of Chantilly, VA; Rae Elizabeth Nelson of San Antonio, TX and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; sister, Susie Turner of Albuquerque, as well as many good friends. She graduated from the first class of Highland High School where she was president of the art club, attending Albuquerque High before that. She attended the University of New Mexico with concentrated studies in art. She was active in West Mesa Christian Church in Rio Rancho, Eastern Star Friendship and Turquoise Chapters, and the local chapter of the Daughters of the Nile. She served as Worthy Matron in the Washington D.C. Chapter. When Audrey left Albuquerque, she went to work for the FBI in Washington D.C. where she met Ray who also worked for the FBI. There were married in November of 1954. They worked and lived in Washington D.C. and Butte, MT and traveled many places together with the Masonic Lodge activities. For years she was actively involved with raising purebred Boxer dogs, showing them in various venues across the eastern seaboard. After retirement, she returned to Albuquerque and worked part-time at Santa Ana Casino. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Private family services will be held.
