SIMMS -- Cindy Simms, age 53, of Las Cruces, entered eternal life Wednesday, June 27, 2007 at La Posada - Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was born January 10, 1954 in Los Alamos. Cindy was employed at Memorial Medical Center for nearly 25 years, first as a histologist and then as the safety coordinator, until the end of 2006, leaving only because of her illness. Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Moralez and husband, Adam and their son, Dante Diego, all of Las Cruces; her son, Kevin Simms; her mother, Charlsie Hare, both of Albuquerque; and a brother, James Hare and his family of Moriarity. Other survivors include her extended family in California, Texas and Utah; as well as many friends here in Las Cruces. She was preceded in death by her father, James L. Hare and a sister, Jayne Hare. At her request cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2007 at Sierra Vista Community Church, 514 N. Telshor (behind T-Mobile) with Pastor Ruben Ortega officiating. Inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date at Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Campus Crusade for Christ, 2404 S. Locust St., Las Cruces, NM 88001, Young Life Ministries, P.O. Box 485, Las Cruces, NM 88004-485 or Good News Prison Ministry, C/O Chaplain David Beam, DA County Detention Center - 647-7636. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels and Baca's Mimbres Crematory.
