Bader -- Leonard E. Bader, age 92, died Sunday, December 26, 1999. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, he was a resident of Albuquerque for 27 years. He was preceded in death by Sarah, his wife of 68 years, who died on December 22, 1999. He is survived by his son, Ben of Albuquerque. He is also survived by former daughter-in-law, Joan of Albuquerque; and three granddaughters, Dana Watral and husband, Mike of Lyons, CO, Beth Sommer and husband, Mark of Placitas, NM, and Deirdre Vance and husband, Steve of Charlotte, NC. In addition, he leaves seven great-grandchildren. Leonard was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Bader -- Sarah Louise Bader, age 88, died Wednesday, December 22, 1999. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a resident of Albuquerque for 27 years. She was survived by Leonard, her husband of 68 years, who joined her in death just four days later, on December 26, 1999. Survivors include her son, Ben, of Albuquerque; her former daughter-in-law, Joan of Albuquerque; and three granddaughters, Dana Watral and husband, Mike of Lyons, CO, Beth Sommer and husband, Mark of Placitas, NM and Deirdre Vance and husband, Steve of Charlotte, NC. In addition, she leaves seven great-grandchildren. Sarah will be remembered as a loving wife, and wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother. A private family memorial will be held at a later date. Dailey -- Barbara J. Dailey, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with her Lord at age 55 on December 28, 1999 at 8:35 p.m. She was a much loved spouse and mother of two. She is survived by her husband, David H. Dailey; her two brothers, Larry and Jim Daves; her two children, David J. Dailey II and Sabrina Dailey-Smith and their respective spouses, Anna Marie Dailey and Patrick Smith. She is also survived by her two well loved grandchildren, Sheree A. Dailey and Shandy E. Dailey-Smith. Barbara was a very giving person, always concerned about her family, always there for her family anytime they needed her. She is survived by her sons, Chuck Dickinson and wife, Tona, and Bruce Dickinson and wife, Robbie; grandchildren, Kelly Dickinson and wife, Sonia, Kevin Dickinson, Tonya Dickinson, all of Albuquerque, Carol Niforatos and husband, Dean of Aurora, CO, Kenneth Dickinson and wife, Chris of Spring, TX, Lowell Dickinson and wife, Kandi of Albuquerque, Larry Dickinson of Oakland, CA, Joyce Albin and husband, Jeff of Aurora, CO and David Payne of Littleton, CO; great-grandchildren, Destiny, Konner, Kylee, Lael, Charles, Katie, Alex, Luke, Jesse, Brian, Ethan and Joel. Eva was preceded in death by her former husband, Lisle; her daughter, Dorothy Lois Payne; and grandson, Keith Dickinson. Eva, a ranch girl from Montana, was a lifetime member of the Methodist Church. She was active in the Eastern Star and Progress Women's Club as well as being involved in the family"Kirby" business. Eva had a great love for family and travel. Gallegos -- Ralph F. Gallegos died at the age of 78. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 100 and the VFW Post 401, and as a wartime veteran received two purple hearts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor"Veva" Gallegos and survived by Fredrick, Leonard, and Ronald Gallegos; one daughter, Criselda Sieges; three brothers, Benny Gallegos, Andy Gallegos and Tony Chavez; four sisters, Sophie Gurule, Connie Becerra, Rosie Chavez, Tarsila Griego; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Garcia -- Dimas Garcia, a beloved father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 30, 1999. Mr. Garcia was born in Canoncito, NM - Cedar Crest on May 15, 1927. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lenor Garcia; three sons, Joe, Eddie and Ramon. He is survived by his loving children, John Garcia and wife, Annie, Peter Garcia, Mike Garcia, Edward Salazar of Albuquerque, Aldopho Salazar and wife, Sally of San Marcos, TX, Fabiola Davis and husband, Russ, Florence Garcia, Carol Garcia, Anna Garcia and Casilda Garcia, all of Albuquerque, Betty Niemeyer and husband, Steve of National City, CA; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Also surviving is one brother, Narcisso Garcia of Cedar Crest; one brother-in-law, Mel Rael of Albuquerque; two sisters-in-law, Mae Garcia of Canoncito, NM and Ermenia Garcia of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be today, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on the corner of 8th and Iron, where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. this evening. Goodson -- Jim Goodson LIFE REMEMBRANCE After a long illness bravely fought, Jim was welcomed home by our Lord on Jesus' birthday. Jim Allen Goodson, 44, died Saturday, December 25, 1999 at University Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Born June 30, 1955 in Albuquerque, he loved the rugged New Mexico outdoors as well as traveling the back roads of the American West in his eighteen-wheeler. Known for always lending a helping hand and being a hard worker,"Slim" Jim could make you laugh and enjoyed old time country music, wood working, and cowboy poetry. He is survived by his daughters, Raylene Wall of Vancouver, B.C., Canada, Tana Statham of Sperry, OK; mother, Helen Goodson of Belen, NM; grandmother, Dora Goodson of Belen; brothers, Don Goodson of Norman, OK and Ken Goodson of Belen; three grandchildren, Tyler and Nicole Statham and Naomi Wall; and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be at Heights Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 8600 Academy Rd. NE in Albuquerque at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, January 3, 2000. Hale -- James Randal Hale, born April 10, 1923 at Brownfield, TX, died Thursday, December 30, 1999, after a struggle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leffel and Ethel Hale; and his sisters, Mary Francis Hale and Lauralee Towns; also infant twin brothers. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of 51 years; three sons and their wives, Bruce and Glynnette, Lee and Trish, and John and Johanna; as well as ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Goza of Colorado; brothers, Clifton Hale of Texas, Jesse W. Hale of T or C, and John A. Hale of Albuquerque; and numerous other family members. Mr. Hale's early life was spent in West Texas and in Southeast New Mexico. He came to Albuquerque in 1941 to attend UNM, then he joined the Army in 1943. He was assigned to Patton's 3rd Armored Infantry, participating in the Normandy invasion at Utah Beach and manned a retriever tank during the Battle of the Bulge. After discharge from the service, he returned to Albuquerque and started work in construction. He married his bride on March 11, 1949. Later he started J.R. Hale Contracting Co., Inc. to be joined by each of his sons as they finished their education. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church and the Two-Som Sunday School Class. Services will be held Monday, January 3, 2000, 1:00 p.m., at First United Methodist Church, corner of 4th and Lead, with Rev. Clyde Stanfield, Rev. James E. Large, and Dr. Bill Sylskar officiating. Complimentary parking will be provided by the church in the city garage across the street. Parking tickets will be validated in the church lobby. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Pallbearers will be Bruce Hale (in abstencia), Lee Hale, John Hale, James Joseph Hale, Cody Sutton, Benny Mott, and Sean Altamirano. Hensley -- Ronald Lee (Ron) Hensley, 56, an Albuquerque resident since 1967, passed away Tuesday, December 28, 1999, at his home. Ron was born on July 20, 1943 in Columbus, Ohio. He is survived by his wife, Fran Hensley of Albuquerque; mother, Frances A. Hall of Albuquerque; daughter, Christine Hensley of Ohio; sisters, Shirley A. Habish of Albuquerque and Judith R. Zillmann and husband, Richard of Peoria, AZ; many cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws. Ron and his wife, Fran (well known at the Albuquerque State Fairgrounds Flea Market as the Butterfly people) own and operate Natures Beauty. he was an ultra light pilot and was active in building and flying ultra lights in Albuquerque and New Jersey. Lancaster -- Alfred Lavern Lancaster passed away Friday, December 24, 1999, from complications of diabetes and kidney failure. Alfred spent three years and four months in nursing homes with the last year and a half at Manzano del Sol, where he received especially excellent care. He is survived by Violet, his wife of 37 years; four step-children, Linda Hylton of Hutchinson, KS, Jerriene Grantland of Veguita, NM, Charles Keckler of Albuquerque and Jack Keckler of Corpus Christi, TX; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Rose Chambers and Pearl Crouse of Monte Vista, CO, and Virgie Pfleider of Canton, OK; as well as many nieces and nephews. Alfred will be remembered as a devoted and faithful servant of Jehovah God. Locke -- Elise"Nonnie" Louise Locke, born August 23, 1914 in Batesville, Arkansas, passed away December 27, 1999 in Albuquerque. She was a longtime member of Phillips Chapel C.M.E. Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freda Edward Locke; and a daughter, Lois Bailey; and son-in-law, Wilbert Garrett. She is survived by three daughters, Margaret W. Garrett, Anita B. Thomas and Ethel F. Foster, all of Albuquerque; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia P. Montgomery of Batesville, AR; and sister-in-law, Norine Patten Williams; son-in-law, Curtis Bailey, both of Albuquerque. Visitation for Mrs. Locke will be held Sunday, January 2, 2000, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Funeral Home. Lough -- Irene M. Lough, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, died Thursday, December 30, 1999. She is survived by her son, Keith Lough and wife, Charlotte of Albuquerque; daughters, Sherry Lee of Longmont, CO and Beverly Burch of Wausau, WI; granddaughters, Ann Horton of McAlester, OK, Heather Lough of Albuquerque, and Tanya Lee of Denver, CO; great-grandchildren, Wesley Horton, Kendall Horton and Corey Horton, all of McAlester, OK; and sister, Peggy Hetfield of Plainfield, NJ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland Lough in 1986. Mrs. Lough lived in Plainfield, NJ, Castleton, VT, and Aruba, Netherland, Antilles before moving to Albuquerque in October of 1984. She was an executive secretary on Wall Street, NY for many years and a member of the Presbyterian Church. Luna -- Dixie Ann Luna, 61, died December 31, 1999, at her home in Albuquerque. Dixie was born August 23, 1938 in Phoenix, AZ, was raised in Delta, CO, where she worked as an LPN in a nursing home, and moved to Albuquerque in 1965. She loved her crocheting, reading, and most of all her family and friends. Preceding her in death was son, Pat Luna; mother, Florence Kroschel; sister, Dena Rowe; brothers, Carl Fletcher and Gary Kroschel. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Bill Luna; sons, Jay Luna and wife, Tammy of Albuquerque, John Tudor and wife, Ann of Neosho, MO; brothers, Bill Fletcher and wife, Connie of Kingman, AZ, Wesley Kroschel and wife, Ruthie of Del Norte, CO, Ronald Kroschel and wife, Marsha of Kingman, AZ; sisters, Linda Andrews and husband, Gary of Kingman, AZ, Jo Fletcher of Arboles, CO; her dad, Herbert Kroschel of Kingman, AZ; many nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and will miss her. Marteno -- Dominica (Minnie) Marteno, 92, a resident of Albuquerque since 1923, died December 29, 1999. Minnie was born in Illinois on August 17, 1907. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oreste Marteno. Minnie is survived by her daughter, Rosemary Robart and husband, Myron; her daughter, Betty Lambert; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four sisters; one brothers; and many nieces and nephews. Minnie was one of Albuquerque's best seamstresses, working out of her home for over 50 years. Minnie's customers became close friends, often dropping by just to visit. She was always a concerned, big hearted, generous, and loving friend, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She was a true believer in God's will. Death is an end to life, but not an end to a relationship. Her family and friends will always remember her humor and kindness and will truly miss her. Private graveside services for the immediate family were held in Fairview Cemetery. Donations may be made, in lieu of flowers, to a charity of your choice. Mcsmith -- June Lou McSmith, 75, died at her home in Socorro on December 31, 1999. She moved to Socorro with her husband, Marion in 1946 where they managed New Mexico Boys Ranch before moving to Woodburn, OR in 1961, where they owned and operated. Marion Chevrolet. After the death of her husband if 1978, she returned to Socorro in 1979, where she owned and operated Center Hardware with her sister-in-law, Barbara. She was active in Civitan Club, Past Madam President of the F.O.E. and involved in many other civic activities in Socorro. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jack Freiley. She is survived by her children, Ann Robins, Bonnie Tornow and husband, Al, all of Salem, OR and Jody McSmith-Byrne and husband, Bobby of Socorro, NM; sisters, Shirley Gatton of Cleburne, TX and Bess Nichols of Bedford, TX; sisters-in-law, Barbara Gibson of Socorro; brothers-in-law, Marvin McSmith and wife, Cliff of Socorro and Paul McSmith and wife, Oppie of Woodburn, OR. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Shanda Williams, Tim Tornow, Jennifer Pollman, Jolie Pollman, Rebecca Greiner, Dino Pollman, Jessie Greiner; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Meoli -- Carmela Cariota Meoli, 94, a resident of Albuquerque since July of 1999, peacefully in her sleep went to our Father in Heaven on Thursday, December 30, 1999. For the past twenty days, she was lovingly cared for at Manzano del Sol Good Samaritan Village. Carmela was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 22, 1905 to Frank and Mary Cariota. She married Nicholas Meoli at the Church of Our Lady of Loretto, Brooklyn, NY on October 18, 1925. She is survived by her son, Bernard Meoli of Huntington, NY; daughters, Margaret Meoli of Hollywood, CA, Theresa Ripi of Albuquerque, and Marie Bauch of Deer Park, NY; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mercer -- To our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Lenore A. Mercer, who left us on Wednesday, December 29, 1999. How suddenly we come to realize how delicate and precious a human life is. Her heart was the purest heart of gold of any person we know. She always wanted to very best for her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She did her best to enjoy every aspect that life had to offer. She was spunky and full of life with no forewarning of any life threatening, failing health. Her remaining family who love her dearly, are her loving husband Thomas, her two daughters Joan Doerfler and Gwendolyn Blake, her sons Thomas O. Mercer; and her twenty-six grandchildren. Mullen -- Shirley Ray Mullen, age 75, passed away on Friday, December 24, 1999. Shirley was originally from Chicago, IL and attended Stienmetz High School and Northwestern University. She was a partner with her late husband, Mike, running the Mullen Company. After retiring, she and her family lived in Ireland for 17 years. In 1991, she moved to Albuquerque to live near her daughter, Patricia and her family. She was a loving mother and had an immensely positive outlook on life. She will be remembered fondly and missed by all who knew her, including her childhood friends whom she kept in contact with and all of her family members for whom she did such a wonderful job of preparing for life. She is survived by her five children; Patricia, Peter, Rick, Steve and Tom; and her seven grandchildren, Mikey, Eric, Kilian, Conor, Derek, Marshall and Christiana. O'toole -- Patrick James O'Toole Colonel Retired U.S.A.F., 67, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 30, 1999, while enjoying his favorite activity. Patrick went on to many achievements, including graduating with a Bachelor of Science at Iona College in 1959. He began his career in the Air Force where he earned a Masters in Astro Space Physics. In 1962, he married his"eternal love", Joyce Ann with whom he was married to for 34 years. He retired from Hanscom Air Force Base after 26 years of service. His family relocated to Albuquerque, where he worked for BDM for five years. Pat"officially" retired from Northrop in 1944 to spend quality time with his wife and family. He was briefly separated from his wife by her death in 1996 and now he has been reunited with her. Pat is survived by his children, Kerri Myers, Kevin O'Toole, Terry O'Toole and LeeAnn McAdam; their spouses, Barry Myers, Lisa O'Toole, Pam O'Toole and Sandy McAdam and his grandchildren, Ryan, Dylan, Tyler, Megan, Riley and Chelsea. Pat is also survived by three brothers, Jack, Jim and Frank. Portlock -- John M. Portlock, 58, a resident of Albuquerque for 36 years, died Friday, December 31, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Janice of Albuquerque; daughter, Sandy Portlock of Albuquerque; son, Jeff Portlock of Meridian, ID; mother, Mary Alice Portlock; mother-in-law, Juanita Townsend, both of Evansville, IN; brother-in-law, Paul Townsend and wife, Marcia of Terre Haute, IN; two nephews; and many cousins. John retired in 1997 after 33 1/2 years at Sandia National Laboratories. He had recently received his Master of Arts in Biblical Studies from Trinity Seminary and was currently working on his doctorate as a student/teacher. John loved his family, his Lord and his church. Prudencio -- Jimmy Tom Prudencio, 53, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Friday, December 31, 1999. For the most part of Jimmy's life, he was employed by Joe G. Maloof and Co., a job that he was dedicated to and enjoyed very much. He was preceded in death by his father, Noe G. Seidel -- Gail Seidel passed away after a year and a half battle with cancer at her home on Monday, December 27, 1999 with her family by her side. Gail was born in Albuquerque where she lived most of her life. She was retired from the Albuquerque Police Department, after twenty years of service, where she had many wonderful and devoted friends. Gail is survived by her husband, Rick Seidel; and granddaughter, Samantha Quintana of the family home; daughter, Michelle and husband, Bobby Lopez; parents, Wilda and Joe Montano; mother-in-law, Ruth Seidel; sisters, Barbara Martinez and her friend, Butch Keiser, Yvonne Eder and her son, Jason Eder; brother, Chuck Skinner and his friend, Len Bugge; niece, Rhonda and husband, Kevin Harmon, niece, Angela and husband, Jason Armijo and their son, Jason Jr, Christopher Seidel and wife, Susan, Caroline Seidel and children, Coralie and Alicia; granddaughter, Christina Seidel and her parents, Maryjo and Rich Abrams. Tafoya -- Leo E. Tafoya, 67, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 30, 1999. Leo was born in Guadalupe, NM to the late Ricardo and Ignacita Tafoya; a resident of Albuquerque; he was a member of the Corrales Mission Church; he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III. Leo is survived by his loving wife, Fabiola (Fabi) Tafoya of the family home; two sons, Michael Tafoya and wife, Diana, Victor Tafoya, both of Albuquerque; two daughters, Dorella Tafoya and fiance, David Candelaria and his children, Danny and Ashley, Ruby Tafoya also of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Michael Tafoya Jr. and Tamara Tafoya. Also surviving are 13 brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and those who knew and loved him. Teso -- Pablo Moreno Teso, 75, an Albuquerque resident for 11 years, died Wednesday, December 29, 1999. Wall -- Betty P. Wall passed away Wednesday, December 29, 1999 in her home in Artesia, NM with her family at her side. Betty moved to Roswell with her family and her brother in 1944. She married Henry L. Wall on June 23, 1946 in Roswell, NM. She and Henry moved to Artesia, NM in 1955 and helped her husband to establish his medical practice. She is survived by her husband, Henry L. Wall; her sons, Robin G. Wall and wife, Barbi Burrows-Wall and Randy Wall, all of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W."Bill" and Gertrude R. Grantham; and daughter, Kristi Lynn Wall; as well as her brother, Ben James Grantham.
