Obituary for Tafoya

Leo E. Tafoya, 67, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 30, 1999. Leo was born in Guadalupe, NM to the late Ricardo and Ignacita Tafoya; a resident of Albuquerque; he was a member of the Corrales Mission Church; he served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III. Leo is survived by his loving wife, Fabiola (Fabi) Tafoya of the family home; two sons, Michael Tafoya and wife, Diana, Victor Tafoya, both of Albuquerque; two daughters, Dorella Tafoya and fiance, David Candelaria and his children, Danny and Ashley, Ruby Tafoya also of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Michael Tafoya Jr. and Tamara Tafoya. Also surviving are 13 brothers and sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on the corner of 8th and Iron, where an evening service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. also on Tuesday. Final viewing will be Wednesday morning, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral services, which will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. in chapel of Garcia Mortuary, with Pastor David Romero of Corrales Mission Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Michael Tafoya Jr., Bobby Tafoya, Andy Tafoya, Ray Tafoya, Joseph Tafoya, and Alex Gonzales. Military Honors will be accorded by the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter III. Funeral services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW, 243-5222.
