Anderson -- Shirley Isadora Anderson, 94, a resident of Rio Rancho, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2002. Shirley first came to New Mexico in 1974 and then again in 1997. Shirley moved from New York City, where she lived most of her life. She was born April 8, 1907 the daughter of Sherman and Corine Palmer Jenkins in Charleston, South Carolina. During WW II she worked at the Picatiney Arsenal in New Jersey. She worked for a jewelry manufacturer before retiring. Shirley was a Charter member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ of Rio Rancho. Shirley is survived by one daughter, Juanita De Leon and husband, Frederick of Rio Rancho; two grandchildren, Frederick De Leon, Jr., and Marc De Leon, and six great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Shirley will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 2701 The American Road, SE, Rio Rancho, with The Rev. Jeannine E. Bell -- Loftis Argile Bell, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1934 passed away, Saturday, March 30, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Margie Bell, son, Louis R. Bell and wife, Elaine of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Jane E. Bell of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Melissa Garner of Albuquerque, Leanndra Davis, Monica Miller and Louis Rey Bell Jr., all of Las Vegas, NV; three great-grandchildren, Shelby, Peyton, and Grace Ann of Las Vegas, NV; sisters, Lula True, Mavis Elliott and Elizabeth Moore; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters including his brother, E."Shorty" Bell who passed away a week before Loftis. He was well known among automotive car dealers in Albuquerque as he was employed throughout the years with Ford, Chevrolet and Buick as parts clerk and parts manager. When Pearl Harbor was attacked, December 7, 1941, he accepted a civil service appointment with the War Department, Ogden Air Depot, Hill Field, Ogden, UT. A year later health reasons brought us back to Albuquerque. Several months later, he went to work at Kirtland Air Force Base. In military service during World War II, Loftis remained at Kirtland until the war ended. He was active in church organizations and the Albuquerque Choral Club but his real joy and most proud time was spent as a member of the State of New Mexico Mounted Patrol. Upon his first retirement, he and his wife were managers of an A&W Root Beer Restaurant in El Paso, TX, owned by their son and his wife. Later, for over ten years, he was employed as a Security Officer at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. After returning home to Albuquerque in 1986, he was employed at the Montebello, a Marriott Senior Living Community as a Security Officer. Finally, Loftis really retired at 80 years of age and they enjoyed their home in The Meadows. Our family would like to express their appreciation for the wonderful care given to our loved one by the team of professionals and to all who worked in the Palliative Care Unit at the Veterans Hospital, the doctors and nurses of the VA Clinic, and the Delta Hospice group. Loved ones, friends, and especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will miss their loving Papa. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Wednesday, April 3, 2002, 1:30 p.m., with The Rev. Tom Salmon officiating. Buell -- Leonard K "Bud" Buell Lt. Colonel, USA (Retired), 71, a resident of Albuquerque New Mexico for 27 years died March 27, 2002 at his home in Northeast Albuquerque. He is survived by his wife, Chloe"Virginia" Buell; son, Brett K Buell and wife, Sandra Buell; daughter, Dorothy Melloy and husband, Bill Melloy; grandson, Justin Melloy and granddaughter, Chloe Melloy all of Albuquerque; brothers, Raymond and Clyde both of Helena Montana, Arthur of Indianapolis Indiana and brother-in-law, Duaine Marcotte of Great Falls Montana. Colonel Buell was born January 19, 1931 in Augusta Montana to Albert and Marchie Buell. He attended school at Augusta, MT and graduated from Montana State University in 1953. He entered the U.S. Army at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas in October 1953. He served tours in Korea, twice in Germany, Panama and Vietnam, and at various posts across the United States; his final assignment was as troop commander Brook Army Medical Center in Fort Sam Houston Texas. His decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal and three Army Commendation awards. Colonel Buell retired from the Army in 1976 and moved his family to Albuquerque. After retirement, he worked for Albuquerque Public Schools, Louis J. Vener Law Offices and was a docent at the Rio Grande Zoo. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Carroll -- Billy Joseph Carroll died after a short illness on March 30, 2002. He was born on May 28, 1930 in Ft. Worth, TX. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Margaret Mock Carroll; a sister, Bobbie Ann Ferrell of Irving, TX; three nephews, David Ferrell of Atlanta, GA, Martin Mock of Rapid City, SD, and Keith Mock of Detroit, MI; one niece, Teresa Ferrell of Irving, TX. Bill was a resident of Albuquerque since 1975, and had served as the Manager of Heath and Safety at the University of New Mexico for many years, retiring from there in 1993. He was a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers and was honored as the state, regional and National Safety Professional of the Year for his accomplishments in the field of safety engineering. One article he authored was the most requested reprint in the history of the Safety Engineering Journal. He was a Certified Safety Professional (CSP). He served his country in the US Air Force as an electronic flight systems specialist trainer. Bill authored many articles and delivered many speeches and lectures on various subjects of safety engineering all over the US, Canada, The UK, Australia, and China. Bill held degrees in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering from Tristate University, Angola, IN and from Delgado College in New Orleans, and Central Missouri State University in Safety Engineering. He was a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society. Throughout his career in safety, he nurtured and mentored many young professionals, helping many achieve the rank of CSP by organizing and teaching exam refresher courses. Before his career in safety engineering he was a broadcast engineer at several radio and television stations and was an on air personality playing many kinds of music from Top 40 to big band, country, blues, and jazz. Music was an important part of his life and he enjoyed many types. He appeared on stage both as a musician and actor in Community Theater and on TV as on-air musical talent and on Public Service Announcements and commercials. Bill was an avid, expert skier, enjoyed bicycling, boating, hiking, and camping. He was generous in nature, giving freely of his time and talent to many; he felt a commitment to contribute to the community in which he lived, and was active in his neighborhood, as elections worker and performed pro bono safety engineering work. His interests were broad; he was an incredibly intelligent, gifted individual who could do and fix anything from electronics and computers to road graders. His rich life was shared by many dear friends and colleagues. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the New Mexico Animal Humane Association, 615 Virginia SE, 87108. Encinias -- Amadeo (Amos) Encinias went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2002. He was born on April 12, 1925. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him more than words can say. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Melecia (Chavez) Encinias. Amadeo was the loving, nurturing, kind and gentle father to Mary Louise and Larry Anaya, Leroy and Rosie Encinias and Emily and Frank Orosco. He adored his grandchildren, Leroy Jr. and Daniel Encinias, Carolyn, Dennis and Dana Anaya, Sara, Melanie and Bobby Castillo; great-grandchildren, Brandi and Baylee Encinias, Patrick Encinias, Adan Cabrera and Adrianna Lopez. Amadeo was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Encinias, his mother, Predicanda Montano (as an infant), his father, Segundo Encinias and brother, Frank Encinias. He is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Elizardo and Celina Encinias, Clora and Chano Lopez, Raymond and Carmen Encinias, Segundo and Karen Encinias, Adan and Dollie Encinias, Pete and Lucille Encinias and Martin and Lisa Encinias, Henrietta Romero, Erma Gonzales, Lucy and Anthony Orio, Elena and Larry Irving, Juanita Encinias, Tommie Encinias and stepmother Florinda Encinias, uncle Norberto Encinias, many cousins in the Clovis area with whom he was raised, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Manuel and Maida Chavez, Clara Perez, Della and Ted Gonzales and Isabel and Julian Gallegos. Amadeo was proud to have been a veteran of World War II having fought in the South Pacific and Korea. After his retirement from AT & SF Railroad Hospital until June of 2001, he operated a small business on north Second Street which he called"Famous Amos Eating Place". He had many faithful friends and customers as a result of his small business and looked forward to going to his job everyday. Amadeo touched the lives of everyone he met through his generosity, sense of humor, sincerity and giving of self. We will miss his unconditional love. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave. N.W. at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday also at St. Therese Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mt. England -- Caryl England, 76, died Thursday, March 28, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Steve Neal of Albuquerque; daughters, Jasmine Poole, Kim Poole and Haeja England; son, Billy England, all of Corrales; granddaughters, Mija Poole-Causey and Lily Poole-Causey; and sisters, Gae Nichols and Muriel Welsh. Known to her friends as ťCaryl of Corrales, Caryl was one of the original members of the Corrales Adobe Theatre. Her love of the arts was only exceeded by her love of life. Finley -- Clarence U. Finley, 76, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away midmorning Saturday, March 30, 2002 of natural causes. He was a highly decorated World War II Veteran. In 1945 he was granted the Purple Heart for his participation at Okinawa. He was later honored with a Oak Leaf Cluster for his efforts at Shima. Clarence, had been employed at the Security Force in Los Alamos and by the University of California for many years. He retired in the early 90's and managed Finley Mobile Home Park. He was preceded in death by infant daughter, Rebecca Lynn Finley, and son Dr. David Finley. He is survived by his wife, Betty Finley of Arroyo Seco; daughter, Marsha Fralick, San Diego, CA, Darryl Finley, Albuquerque, Clarence (Dee) and Nancy Finley, San Diego, CA, Richard Finley, Albuquerque, Donald Finley, Espanola, Debr and James Campa, Alcalde, Shiela Gentry, Arroyo Seco; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fornero -- Louise Fornero, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died on Sunday, March 31, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Gina L. Waterman and husband, Matthew, of Albuquerque; grandson, Jacob Eye; sister, Anne Krauss and husband, Robert, of Peralta, NM; brothers, Joe Harris and wife, Cindy of Albuquerque and Dr. Jack Harris and wife, Gene, of Nashville, TN. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, C.C. Fornero, in 1986. Louise was an avid bridge player, who was a leading teacher, administrator and player in Albuquerque. She loved gardening, her pets and volunteering her time to assist others. Her caring and charitable nature was apparent to all who knew her. At her request, a private service will be held. Gonzales -- David M. Gonzales, 80, passed on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at his home in Luis Lopez, NM. He was born June 10, 1921 to Frank and Maria Marcus Gonzales in Luis Lopez, NM. He was a Veteran of the US Navy and served during WWII and was retired from Civil Service. He is preceded in death by his brother, Jose Leon Gonzales, and two sisters, Rufina Gonzales and Tamasita Mendoza. Gonzales -- Mrs. Vivian A. Gonzales, 77, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 31, 2002. Mrs. Gonzales is the beloved mother to four daughters, Grace Garcia-Juarez and husband, Cuco, Susie Gonzales-Regalado and husband, Mark, Theresa Gallegos and husband, Willie and Ms. Rose M. Gonzales; three sons, Jose (Fred) Gonzales, Silverio Gonzales and Ray Gonzales; Mrs. Gonzales is also survived by one brother, Leo Archibeque; a special niece, Viola Cortinez; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends from Norther New Mexico and Southern Colorado. Mrs. Gonzales was a member of the Catholic Church. A viewing for Mrs. Gonzales will be Tuesday evening after 6:30 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Herman Flores. Prior to the Rosary the American Legion Women's Auxilary will have a short ceremony. Hall -- Elizabeth C. Hall, 97, of Albuquerque, died on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002. One of ten children of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Hall, Miss Hall was born in Coney Island, NY where she resided until moving to Albuquerque in 1978. A graduate of Heffley Business College, she began her career with the Brooklyn Borough Gas Company, where she later became assistant treasurer, continuing on when the company merged with Brooklyn Union (now Keyspan Energy), retiring as Assistant to the Treasurer. She was predeceased by her dear sister, Dr. Reina F. Hall of Albuquerque in August 2001 and is survived by her sister, Edna Hall Murray of Mineola, NY; many nieces and nephews; and her very dear friends, Fred and Sandra Anaya of Albuquerque. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Heising -- Elizabeth Heising passed away March 31, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard J. Heising. Holland -- Robert Allen Holland, passed away Friday, March 29. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia; his daughters, Catherine Chapman, Karen L. Holland, Carol Shields and Lyn Essmann: his grandsons, Justice A. and Edward Berndt; his brothers, Jay and James Holland; and a large extended family. He served his country in the United States Army through three major conflicts, WWII, Korea and Vietnam, before retiring from active duty. He continued serving his country working for the Department of Defense, where he retired in 1987. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans, and was an active member supporting many ministries within his Catholic faith. He was an avid golfer and his love for the sport was exceeded only by his love for family and friends. His loving presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him. A rosary will be recited 7:00 pm, Thursday, April 4, 2002 in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Horn -- A precious life ended on March 29, 2002, when Phillip Steven Horn, 46, was taken from us after a long illness. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, traveling throughout Europe. Soon after his release, he met and fell in love with Shawn Alexander and they were united in marriage May 17, 1985. Phillip then had a distinguished career with the United States Postal Service, where he was employed as an Accounting Clerk. His father, Kermit Horn preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved mother, Kathleen Horn; his loving wife of 15 1/2 years, Shawn Horn; two children, James Bishop Horn and Leslee Serita Horn; three brothers, Kermit Jr., Christopher and Keith Horn; five sisters, Mae, Gladys, Mary, Kim and Kathleen; and a host of relatives and friends. Jelso -- Carl L. Jelso, a long term resident of Albuquerque, died on Saturday, March 30, 2002. Carl is survived by his wife of 51 years, Coreen C. Jelso; children, Damian Jelso of Albuquerque, Linda Neuman and husband, Scott, of Taos, NM, Beverly Maeker of Brooklyn, NY and Kathleen Jelso of Anaheim, CA; grandchildren, Ryan Carl Maeker and Rilee Coreen Neuman; sister, Rose Muscarella and husband, Gandolph, DDS. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Dr. Samuel Jelso, John Jelso and Joseph Jelso. Before moving to New Mexico, he was a high school teacher in Buffalo, NY. Mares -- Cynthia M. Mares, 42, a resident of Pena Blanca, New Mexico passed away on March 29, 2002. Cynthia is the beloved daughter to Richard (Dick) A. and Josie M. Mares. Cynthia is also survived by her brothers, Arthur Mares and wife, Mary, Gilbert Mares and wife, Carmen, Richard Mares and wife, Jackie, Dennis Mares and wife, Rena and John Mares; her fiance, Anthony Aragon; five nieces, Denise, April, Alana, Holly and Danielle; ten nephews, Leonard, Ernie, Angelo, Sam (Mikey), Matthew, Brian, John Jr., Joshua, Eliseo and Adan; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Cythina was a member of the Catholic Church and worked for the Bernalillo Public Schools for 21 years. A visitation will be Tuesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Pena Blanca with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by the Cenacle Group. Mcfadden -- Ouida Ruth McFadden, 87, completed her life's journey on March 27, 2002. Beloved mother of Janyce Winkler; and grandmother of Tia Winkler; daughter of Francis and Bruton McFadden; and sister of Loma McFadden. A resident of Albuquerque since 1981, she loved the high desert and Sandia Mountains dearly. Throughout her life she openly embraced everyone who crossed her path, and demonstrated the beauty and power of unqualified love. She will be ever so deeply missed by her family and all who were privileged to know and love her.

Montoya -- Mrs. Juanita G. Montoya, 93, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on March 29, 2002. Mrs. Montoya is survived by three daughters, Maria Soto, Mary Navarette and Lorraine Apodaca and husband, Ben; three sons, Robert Paul Candelaria and wife, Concepcion, Primitivo Montoya Jr. and wife Epie, and Ruben Montoya; one sister, Isabel Avila and husband, Tony; 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Montoya was preceded in death by her son, Army Sgt. Refugio Hernandez and her grandson, Albert Apodaca. Mrs. Montoya was a member of the Catholic church, member at San Jose Catholic Church and Church of the Ascension. She was a life long resident of New Mexico but spent the past two years of her life in Henderson, Nevada. A viewing will be Wednesday evening from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr SW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by James Rael, Rosary Leader. Norris -- Bessie Lee Johnson Norris, 94, a resident of New Mexico for 75 years, died on Friday, March 29, 2002, at Manzano del Sol Health Care Center. She was born on February 29, 1908 in Davilla, Texas. She grew up in Haskell County, Texas, attended Baylor Academy in Belton, Texas and became an elementary school teacher in Haskell County. In 1927 she came to New Mexico to join her family who homesteaded west of Cuba, New Mexico. She continued teaching in New Mexico and graduated from the University of New Mexico. Most of her career as a public school educator was spent in the Albuquerque Public Schools where she served as a teacher, consulting teacher, radio teacher and principal of Mark Twain and Zuni Elementary Schools. Throughout her life, she was active in the Eastern Star, Nor Este Art League and New Mexico Pen Women. She was a member of the First Christian Church and later Heights Christian Church. She was active in Delta Kappa Gamma and Alpha Delta Kappa teaching sororities. After her retirement, she was able to devote time to following her interests in art, particularly, water color. She is survived by her sister, Jessie Lela Johnson; and many nephews and nieces and their families. She was preceded in death by seven brothers; and two sisters. Services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Don Kimbro officiating. Segura -- Gill Segura, age 81, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord, our Savior, Saturday, March 30, 2002. Gill was a life long resident of Sile, NM. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served our country during Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Battles and Campaigns; the ribbons and medals he received were the American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and a Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by two sons, Augustine and Eric Segura; one grandson, Arthur"Tootie" Segura; and one brother, Ramon Segura. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bennie Segura of the family home; his children, Joe Segura and wife, Reina, Arthur Segura, Danny Segura, Michael Segura and wife, Diane, Gene Segura and wife, Annette all of Sile, NM, Mary Bustillos and husband, Adolfo, Lupe Segura and wife, Eddie both of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Blanche Torrez and husband, Tony; brother, Wilfred Segura both of Sile; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations for Mr. Segura will today from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Sile, where a rosary will be recited tonight at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Shannon -- Arthur Aaron Jay Shannon, 76, born December 14, 1925, Salina, KS, died Saturday, March 30, 2002. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty years Anita Marie Armstrong Shannon, October 3, 1997. They moved to Albuquerque in 1973. He served in the Navy during WWII, in the Pacific Theater. He worked with the Air Force as a civil servant for 39 years. He worked with Thompson Machine until 1992. Mr. Shannon is survived by son, Steve, and fiancé, Paula Jo Barrett of Folsom, CA, daughter, Jill, and husband, Gary Garcia of Albuquerque, NM, daughter, Jane, and husband, Patrick (Kirch) French of Mesa, AZ, grandsons, Steve Gronbach and wife, Jessica of Yuma, AZ, and Scott Gronbach and wife, Tammy of Osaka, Japan; and five great-grandchildren. Strasia -- John Strasia passed away on March 27, 2002 at Mt. San Rafael Hospital in Trinidad, Colorado. He was born August 14, 1918 in Trinchera, Colorado to Michele and Mary (Didero) Strasia. John was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather. He attended school in Hoehne. John was married to Mary Elizabeth (Cortese) in 1949 in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He was a rancher and farmer until he was blinded in 1957 in a farming accident. Then he became a physical therapist in 1960 and worked until 1990 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He then returned to the ranch in Trinchera. Before he was blinded he completed in calf roping and made it all the way to Madison Square Garden. He also enjoyed playing the organ and accordion. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sister, Lucy and brothers, Mitchell and Jim. Survivors are his son, Richard and wife, Susan Strasia; daughter, Barbara and husband, Henry Valentine; brothers and sister, George, Charlie and Clarice Lynn. Visitation will be Sunday, March 31st from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A Rosary Service will be held April 1st at 12:00 p.m. noon at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, April 1st at 1:00 p.m. at the Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow April 2nd at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Memorials can be made to Mt. Tye -- Maurice Edward Tye, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2002. He is survived by his children, Sharon Nau, Michael Tye and wife, Anna, Richard Tye, Bernard Tye and wife, Sylvia, William Tye and Sherri Light, Maurce R. Tye and wife, Laurel, Patrick Tye and wife, Linda, and Mary Claridge and husband, Brad; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and sister, Mary Margaret Gombas of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Helen Marie Tye and brother, Bernard Tye. Maurice was born July 2, 1920 in Chula, MO. He joined the US Navy in 1941. Maurice moved to New Mexico from St. Louis, MO and was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission at Los Alamos Labs in 1955. Maurice became a federal agent with the Department of Energy in June 1964 and moved to Albuquerque. He retired in 1986. Vliet -- Warren Thomas Vliet, 77, a resident fo Rio Rancho for the past 12 years, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2002. Warren was born October 12, 1924 the son of Willard S. and Mabel Emmons Vliet in Elizabeth, New Jersey. He and his wife, Barbara came to New Mexico from Westfield, New Jersey. He was partner and treasurer for K-H-V Insurance Agency before retiring. Warren volunteered with the Albuquerque Convention and Visitors Bureau and thoroughly enjoyed promoting New Mexico. He was located at the Old Town Office. He was a member of the Rio Rancho Country Club and the Senior's Tennis group. He enjoyed skiing and painting local scenes, and following sports, especially baseball. He was a member of the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church. He is remembered as a wonderful husband and a great father. Warren was preceded in death by two brothers, Alan Vliet and Robert Emmons Van Vliet. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Barbara"Bobby" Vliet of Rio Rancho; four children, Anne Merkley of Granville, OH, Elizabeth Vliet of Albuquerque, Susan Vliet of Rio Rancho, and Thomas Vliet of Albuquerque; four grandchildren, Sarah Richard, Callie Martin, Scott Merkley and Meredith Merkley; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the Rio Rancho Presbyterian Church , 1004 24th Street, Rio Rancho, with The Rev. Dr. Lawrence R. Hitchens officiating.
