Obituary for Segura

Gill Segura, age 81, beloved and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord, our Savior, Saturday, March 30, 2002. Gill was a life long resident of Sile, NM. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army who served our country during Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Battles and Campaigns; the ribbons and medals he received were the American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and a Victory Medal. He was preceded in death by two sons, Augustine and Eric Segura; one grandson, Arthur"Tootie" Segura; and one brother, Ramon Segura. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bennie Segura of the family home; his children, Joe Segura and wife, Reina, Arthur Segura, Danny Segura, Michael Segura and wife, Diane, Gene Segura and wife, Annette all of Sile, NM, Mary Bustillos and husband, Adolfo, Lupe Segura and wife, Eddie both of Albuquerque; 21 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Blanche Torrez and husband, Tony; brother, Wilfred Segura both of Sile; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations for Mr. Segura will today from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Sile, where a rosary will be recited tonight at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. also at the church. Interment will follow at the Sile Catholic Cemetery. Casket Bearers will be Mr. Segura's grandchildren. Funeral services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street NW, 898-3160.
