Tye -- Maurice Edward Tye, 81, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2002. He is survived by his children, Sharon Nau, Michael Tye and wife, Anna, Richard Tye, Bernard Tye and wife, Sylvia, William Tye and Sherri Light, Maurce R. Tye and wife, Laurel, Patrick Tye and wife, Linda, and Mary Claridge and husband, Brad; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; and sister, Mary Margaret Gombas of St. Louis, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Helen Marie Tye and brother, Bernard Tye. Maurice was born July 2, 1920 in Chula, MO. He joined the US Navy in 1941. Maurice moved to New Mexico from St. Louis, MO and was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission at Los Alamos Labs in 1955. Maurice became a federal agent with the Department of Energy in June 1964 and moved to Albuquerque. He retired in 1986. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, April 3, 2002, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Al McLane reciting. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, April 4, 2002, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Father Domingo Gumpal, Celebrant. Interment will follow 12:00 noon at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to Lovelace Hospice, 4503 Gibson SE, Siesta Hills Bldg. 1, 87108. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, 6:00 p.m. until time of rosary.
