Obituary for Encinias

Amadeo (Amos) Encinias went home to be with the Lord on April 1, 2002. He was born on April 12, 1925. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him more than words can say. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Melecia (Chavez) Encinias. Amadeo was the loving, nurturing, kind and gentle father to Mary Louise and Larry Anaya, Leroy and Rosie Encinias and Emily and Frank Orosco. He adored his grandchildren, Leroy Jr. and Daniel Encinias, Carolyn, Dennis and Dana Anaya, Sara, Melanie and Bobby Castillo; great-grandchildren, Brandi and Baylee Encinias, Patrick Encinias, Adan Cabrera and Adrianna Lopez. Amadeo was preceded in death by his grandson, Patrick Encinias, his mother, Predicanda Montano (as an infant), his father, Segundo Encinias and brother, Frank Encinias. He is also survived by his loving brothers and sisters, Elizardo and Celina Encinias, Clora and Chano Lopez, Raymond and Carmen Encinias, Segundo and Karen Encinias, Adan and Dollie Encinias, Pete and Lucille Encinias and Martin and Lisa Encinias, Henrietta Romero, Erma Gonzales, Lucy and Anthony Orio, Elena and Larry Irving, Juanita Encinias, Tommie Encinias and stepmother Florinda Encinias, uncle Norberto Encinias, many cousins in the Clovis area with whom he was raised, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Manuel and Maida Chavez, Clara Perez, Della and Ted Gonzales and Isabel and Julian Gallegos. Amadeo was proud to have been a veteran of World War II having fought in the South Pacific and Korea. After his retirement from AT & SF Railroad Hospital until June of 2001, he operated a small business on north Second Street which he called"Famous Amos Eating Place". He had many faithful friends and customers as a result of his small business and looked forward to going to his job everyday. Amadeo touched the lives of everyone he met through his generosity, sense of humor, sincerity and giving of self. We will miss his unconditional love. Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave. N.W. at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday also at St. Therese Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Anaya, Frank Orosco, Leroy Encinias Jr., Daniel Encinias, Dennis Anaya and Pete Encinias. Honorary pallbearers will be Elizardo Encinias, Raymond Encinias, Segundo Encinias, Adan Encinias, Martin Encinias and Eric Sisneros. Services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. S.W. 243-5222.
