Archibald -- Kenneth W. Archibald, resident of Albuquerque, died February 12, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his daughter, Valerie Quinlan of New York City; his son, K. Scott Archibald of Camarillo, CA; son-in-law, Lambert H. Koopmans of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Those grandchildren from this area are Melissa Wagner, Vanessa Wader, David Koopmans and Andrew Koopmans. Born in Soquel, California in 1906, Kenneth Archibald taught 36 years in San Diego City schools, and was a violin maker and instrument repairman for 48 years.

Blair -- Arthur C. Blair, 80, passed away on February 15, 2000. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alida Blair. He is survived by his dear friend, Renee Freeman and her children, Jolie, Chrysa, Angela and Nicholas. A private memorial service was held at the Rio Grande Nature Center. Mr. Blair was a very spiritual person and will be missed by all the lives that he touched. He was proud to be a military man and was disabled while fighting for his country. Bradley -- RUSSELL"RUSTY" LANE BRADLEY of Rio Rancho, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2000. He was born in Las Vegas, NM on September 3, 1948. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He worked for the gas company for 17 years and, more recently, was employed by Orkin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Danna and Clyde Phillips;his brother, Wayne Bradley; and his daughter, Tracy Schossow. He is survived by his wife, Jan; his son, Jeremy and future daughter-in-law, Tenicia Christopher; his sister, Shary Faus and fiance, Rick Vaughan; and many other family members and friends who loved him dearly. Rusty enjoyed life every day. "Rusty, you were and will always be the wind beneath my wings. I love you. You are my heart.""Dad, I don't guess I'll ever understand why you had to go. You are and always will be my hero. You will forever be in my heart, my mind, and my soul. Byrd -- Our loving and giving mother, Margaret L. Byrd, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Friday, February 18, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Tom Byrd and wife, Tammy and Jim Byrd and wife, Karrie, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jennifer Byrd of Denver, CO, Jason Byrd of Belton, TX and Lori Walker and husband, Warren of Horseshoe Bay, TX; sister, Lela Jane Marshall and husband, Foch of Burnet, TX; brother, Clyde Andrew Lyda and wife, Ramona of Oatmeal, TX; and many other special family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.E."Buck" Byrd Jr. in 1986. Mrs. Byrd was a longtime realtor and broker in Albuquerque. She was very active in the development of Connie Mack Baseball in Albuquerque in the mid 60's. Mrs. Byrd was an avid genealogist and author of"Lyda Ledger II." Crow -- Inez Kronemeyer Crow, 85, died February 14, 2000. The Kronemeyer Family moved to Albuquerque from Holland, MI in 1925 and Inez had lived here all but ten years since that time. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald E. Crow; two sisters, Pauline Kronemeyer Archibeck of Albuquerque and Lois Crow Harmon and husband, Thomas of Mesa, AZ; and four nieces and their husbands, Shirley and Leon Bostick and Paulette and Edward Westcamp, all of Albuquerque, Nancy and Donald Franklin of Mesa, AZ and McMinnville, OR and Mary Ellen and John Barr of Barrington, IL. Dalton -- In Memory ofTHOMAS V. DALTON January 22, 1971 - December 5, 1999Born in Edina, Tom was a native of Minnesota. He graduated, Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University in 1993. He was a member of Chi Epsilon, The National Civil Engineering Honor Society, and Tau Beta Pi. On his graduation, he moved to Albuquerque, where he was employed by Dames & Moore, Smith Engineering, and most recently by the engineering consultants firm of BRW. He received Registrations as a Professional Engineer in New Mexico in August, 1998 and in Colorado in September, 1999. He was working on his Masters Degree in C.E. at the University of New Mexico. While serving on the Fair West Neighborhood Association's Board of Directors in 1998 & 1999, Tom shared his talents by helping on a number of projects designed to improve the quality of life for his neighbors. Tom enjoyed many sports, but was a bicycling enthusiast. He toured in both the USA and Europe. Tom is survived by his parents, John and Marge Dalton; brothers, Gregory and wife, Julie, John and wife, Tammy, Mark and Sarah, Jim and fiance, Zoe; as well as nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many friends, neighbors and co-workers. He was a concerned and caring person who left us too soon. He is loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. An informal memorial service, to remember Tom and celebrate his life, will be held Sunday, February 20, 2000 at the Marion L. Fox Memorial Park, in the 700 Block between Alvarado and Valencia NE at 1:00 p.m. All those who knew and cared for him are invited to attend. If our capricious New Mexico weather interferes, the service will be re-relocated nearby.

Germelman -- Ernest G. Germelman, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Wednesday, February 15, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Pearle; daughter, Barbara Lauriano and husband, Charles M.; and grandson, Justin Lauriano, all of Albuquerque. Hayden -- Lt. Col. Curtis B. Hayden, U.S. Army Ret., 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1973, died Friday, February 18, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Hayden of Albuquerque; sons, Robert Kurt Hayden of Clearwater, FL, Edward B. Hayden and wife, Alma Lynne of Myrtle Beach, SC, and John S. Herring -- John Andrew Herring, November 15, 1930 - February 17, 2000, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He served in the United States Marine Corps in China during World War II and in the United States Army in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. After his retirement from the military, he was employed by the Bernalillo County Sheriffs Department for 22 years as Director of Administration and Finance. He held the Bachelors and Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Herring; and three children, Lesa French and husband, Michael French of Las Vegas, NV, Morgan French, and Jonathan French and wife, Maurica French of Orlando, FL; and great-grandchildren, Eliana, Alia and Micah, Norvell Glynn Herring and wife, Sheila Herring of Raleigh, NC; children, Joseph Herring and wife, Derek Herring, Dylan and Ethan Herring, Laura Corey and husband, Myles Corey of Cape Cod, MA, Nathan Cobler and Joshua Fulcher of Cape Cod, MA. Hyler -- Lota Dean Hyler, age 91, passed away on February 16, 2000. Dean was born in Indiana to Ross and Bertha Thomas. The family moved to Pagosa Springs, CO in 1920, then to Albuquerque in 1927. Her husband, Glenn Hyler; first husband, Charlie Neal; and son, Charles Neal, preceded her in death. Also by her brothers, Aurbery M., Leslie R. and Bernie Thomas. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Upham and husband, Don; son, Donald Neal and wife, Maryann; her brother, James P. Thomas and wife, Betty; and by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Dean was a true lady of the"old" school. She loved gardening, flowers and her family. She always had a kind and for everyone and a positive outlook on life. Dean will be missed by all that were lucky enough to know her. A private graveside service was held Saturday, February 19, 2000. January -- Bessie Diana Clark January, 88, died Friday, December 31, 1999 at Sioux Center Community Hospital in Sioux Center, IA, following a four month illness. Betty was born November 24, 1911 in Helena, AR and was raised in Derry, New Hampshire. She graduated from Radcliffe College, Cambridge, MA in 1933 and became a school teacher. In 1936, she married Dr. H. Linton January, a cardiologist and one of the founding doctors of the Lovelace Clinic in Albuquerque. Following his death in 1960, Betty managed the dairy farm in Colchester, VT, where the family had moved two years earlier. She retired to Sioux Center, IA in 1976 and became a volunteer with the Foster Grandparent Program at River Valley School in Rock Valley, IA. Betty worked with handicapped children on a daily basis for 23 years and represented the state of Iowa at the 20th Anniversary of the Foster Grandparent Program at the White House in 1985. Betty is survived by a sister, Martha Clark Wenk of New Jersey; and by four children, Nancy J. Hodgson of Beresford, SD, an archeologist at the University of South Dakota, Richard L. January of Sioux Center, IA, a computer software consultant, Susan Carol Pavelko of Wenatchee, WA, a fruit tree research chemist, and Dr. Katherine January of Santa Fe, a clinical psychologist at St. Vincent Hospital. Betty is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by her nieces and nephews and their families in Albuquerque, Jan Bennett, Mary Wilkening, Angus Macpherson and Richard Macpherson.

Keith -- Steven R. Keith, 40, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, February 17, 2000. He is survived by his parents, Don and Marianne Keith; brothers, Donald Scott Keith and wife, Lori and Brian D. Keith; grandfather, Richard L. Converse of Mesa, AZ; nephews, Redmon Keith and Donald Q. Keith, all of Albuquerque. Mr. Keith was involved with Albuquerque Tennis, teaching for the City of Albuquerque. He was an active softball player, playing with the"Ducks." Mr. Keith was a general contractor and he managed several apartment complexes in the University area. Kimbrough -- Leah Jane Kimbrough passed away Sunday, February 13, 2000, at the age of 94. She was the last living daughter of Avery C. and Minerva Humphrey Wilkins. She was preceded in death by her twin, Lois, and Frances and Virginia. Leah was born in Jennings, LA in 1906, married William R.L. Kimbrough in 1934, and gave birth to two sons, William and Avery, in Shreveport before moving to Albuquerque in 1946 in the quest for a cure for asthma for her husband and younger son. Her husband passed away in 1986. Leah is survived by her two sons and their wives, Patricia and Louise and their families which comprise Leah's six grandchildren, Steve, Mont, Sandra, Laura, Jonathan and Leanne; and her six great-grandchildren, Olivia, Wesley, Taliah, Colin, William and Mikendra. The family and their families, as well as close friends have held a memorial service for Leah. The family requests that your remembrance of Leah be expressed through a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation, to the Storehouse, or to Project Share. King -- Eleanor Marietta King, the first Dean of the College of Nursing at UNM in Albuquerque, first Dean of the College of Nursing at Western State College in Danbury, Connecticut. Highly regarded in the fields of nursing education and public health. Born in St. Paul, MN on October 29, 1907, died in Albuquerque on February 16, 2000. She was the daughter of the late Prof. and Mrs. James Sherman King of Hamline University in St. Paul. She graduated from Hamline and later from the Yale University School of Nursing and studied further at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, MD. Dean King is the sister of Mildred King Walser and Edna King Vander Wagen of Albuquerque; the aunt of Stanley Penn, James Walser, and Mary Falzone, also several great nieces and nephews. Lovato -- Julia G. Lovato passed away at the age of 68. The Lord came for her at home on Friday, February 11, 2000. She was born in Las Vegas, NM to Esiquel Gurule and Pablito Valdez Gurule in 1932. She came to Albuquerque 34 years ago. Mrs. Lovato was a resident of Trinidad, CO prior to moving to Albuquerque. She was also a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Disabled American Veterans, and American Legion Post 13. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo; son, Jose Daniel Lovato; parents, Esiquel and Pablita; and brother, Bennie Gurule. She is survived by her daughters, Pauline Gonzales and Gilbert Campos, and Jo Ella Bencomo and fiance, Dean Stippich; brother, Humberto Gurule of Las Vegas; sister, Belle Luna; six grandchildren, Della Lovato, Elaine Garcia, Jennifer Gonzales, Delilah Gonzales, Daniel Bencomo, Julian Bencomo; 11 very special great-grandchildren; and other very special family members, including Joe and Marlene Gonzales and family, Liz Velasquez and family of Las Vegas, Isabel Benevidez and family of Las Vegas, Diana Marquez, and Bennie Gurule of Las Vegas. Major -- Duncan Kennedy Major, 69, a resident of Clovis, NM, passed away Thursday, February 17, 2000. He was born December 14, 1930 to Malcolm and Lily (Field) Major in Magdalena, NM. He is survived by his wife, Gail (Marriott) Major, they were married January 26, 1985 in Los Lunas. Mr. Major is also survived by his step-daughter, Julie Carter and her husband, Bob; his step-sons, Lon and wife, Shelley Baker, Jim and wife, Rita Baker, Bruce Baker; his brothers, Malcolm"Buddy" Major Jr., Kenneth Major; his sisters, Alyce Zancanelli, Helen Graham, Marie Major and her husband, Martin Linsey, Johanna Major; and a very special friend, Molly Baldrige. Also surviving him are his ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and 28 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Lily Major; and sister, Eugenia Major Dixon. Mr. Major was a ranch manager for the Monte Prieto Ranch since 1975 and a member of the Cattle Growers Association and the New Mexico Farm Bureau. Moyer -- Maj. Clair Edward Moyer, USAF Ret., died Saturday, February 19, 2000 after a lengthy illness. He moved to Albuquerque with his family after his military service ended in 1969. He was born in Lodi, Ohio in 1916. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two sons, Richard and Bob; two daughters, Cindy and Karen; and grandchildren, Hank Bradbury, Jessica Hagman and Robert Moyer; and a great-grandchild, Alexander. Clair was a member of the Army Air Corp during WWII, as well as serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He graduated from the University of Denver after WWII and completed graduate courses at UCLA. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church. After his Air Force retirement he taught elementary school in the Albuquerque Public School system for several years. He attended and played the piano for Bible Study Fellowship, as well as being active in the Gideon's during his last years. There will be a memorial service at Heights Cumberland Presyberian Church, 8600 Academy NE on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., and will later be interned at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. Page -- Leslie P. Page Jr., 80, an Albuquerque resident since 1994, died Friday, February 18, 2000. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Holly Page of Albuquerque; son, L. Paul Page III and wife, Roseann Vona Page of Albuquerque; sisters, Aileen Sullivan and Clara Sweeney, both of Tennessee. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Army Air Corps. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of the Pajarito Lodge #66, AF & AM in Los Alamos. Mr. Page retired from Los Alamos National Laboratory after 32 years of service. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no memorial services will be held. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and those who knew him, but now he is with God. Pallas -- Joseph D. Pallas, 79, of South Paris, died Friday, February 18, 2000 at Market Square Health Care Center. He was born in Washington, DC on March 8, 1920, the son of James A. and Hattie V. Plummer Pallas. He was educated in Washington, DC schools. He proudly served in the U.S. Army in WWII in the Pacific and in Korea as an M/Sgt. Prior to his retirement in 1976 he spent 30 years under Civil Service in the Dept. of Environmental Services as an engineer in the city of Washington, DC. He resided in Myrtle Beach, SC for 16 years before moving to South Paris in 1996. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Myrtle Beach, SC and the Myrtle Beach Lodge No. 353, A.F. & A.M. He is survived by his wife, the former Irene R. Major of South Paris; one son, James Pallas of Concordia, MO; a granddaughter, Nicole Pallas of Greensboro, NE; and a grandson, Christopher Lane of Las Vegas, NV; two step-daughters, Carol Williams of Upper Marlboro, MC and Virginia Murphy of South Paris; a step-son, David Ragland of Virginia; three step-grandchildren, Chip Williams and Michelle Williams of MD and Carrie Hayden of Lewiston; one great-grandson; and three step-great-grandchildren; two nieces and two nephews of MD. He was predeceased by a brother, John; and a step-granddaughter, Laura Williams. Memorial services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2000 at 1:00 p.m., at the Weston-Chandler Funeral Home, 45 Main St., South Paris, ME, with the Rev. Henry Male officiating. Public Masonic services will be held prior to the service.

Parker -- Phyllis E. Parker, 78, a resident of Albuquerque, went home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, February 16, 2000. Phyllis was born August 15, 1921 in Bowesmont, ND. Her parents were J. Walter and Susan Hills. She married Lloyd L. Parker on June 17, 1944 in Bowesmont, ND. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Albuquerque; sons, Gary and his wife, Linda of Rockford, MN, Clifford and his wife, Linda from Peoria, IL, Shuan and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque; daughter, Peggy Perreault of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Don Hills and his wife, Helen of Glaston, ND, Oliver (Bud) Hills and his wife, Gladis of Grand Forks, ND; sisters, Evelyn Karel and her husband, Milton of Mesa, AZ, Lillian Grezkowiak and her husband, Charles of Grand Forks, ND, Thelma Fritz and her husband, Adrian of Grand Forks, ND, and Maxine Wilson and her husband, Marvin of Joliet, ND. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John (Jack) Hills; and grandson, Joshua Lloyd Parker. Mrs. Parker was a former member of Peralta Memorial United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women in Peralta, and taught Sunday School there. Phyllis and Lloyd moved back to Albuquerque in 1996 and transferred membership back to St. John's United Methodist church, where Phyllis renewed her activity in United Methodist Women. She also attended Bible Study Fellowship for a number of years. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Myrtle Chapter 13 of the Order of the Eastern Star, Farmington, MN. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, February 22, 2000, 10:00 a.m., at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE, with Rev. Charles E. Price and Rev. James Hawk officiating. Romero/Romelli -- Lawrence Bonafacio Romero/Lou Romelli, 40, our beloved son, brother and uncle, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 18, 2000. Lou loved the outdoors, which included bike riding and hiking. He was recently known for the reorganization of the"Original Bike Tour of the Rio Grande." Lou is survived by his parents, Stella Fuentes and Gilbert Romero; sister, Corinne Davis; brother, Steve Romero; his nephew, John Paul Davis; niece, Heather Davis, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his girlfriend, LaVon; step-brothers and step-sisters, uncles, aunts and cousins, and many friends whom he loved very much. He will truly be missed by all. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, February 20, 2000, 4:00 p.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco Dr. SW, Albuquerque, NM. Trujillo -- Allen Dwight Trujillo, 59, a resident of Silver City, entered eternal rest on Friday, February 18, 2000 at the family home after a battle with lung cancer. He was born on April 24, 1940 in Pagosa Springs, CO to Willie and Pauline Gallegos Trujillo. Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 22, 2000, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., at St. Francis Newman Center Parish followed by the Funeral Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. with Father Marcos Reyna officiating. After the services the family will leave to take him to be buried by his mother in Pagosa Springs, CO. Allen is survived by his loving wife, Deloris of the family home; two sons, Marc Trujillo of Souix Falls, SD and Christopher Trujillo of Silver City; two daughters, Jill Trujillo of Albuquerque and Heather Trujillo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; his father, Willie Trujillo of Pagosa Springs, CO; and a brother, William Trujillo of Chicago, IL. The constant support, visits and prayers from all the friends and acquaintances both her and all over the world during the last 2 1/2 years, the family considers a better measure of his success than his career achievements. Woodard -- Donald Duncan Woodard, 86, of Atascadero, CA, formerly of Albuquerque, died Monday, February 7, 2000. Mr. Woodard was born April 8, 1913 in Durango, CO. He had celebrated nearly 51 years of sobriety in Alcoholics Anonymous and was a member of the National Council on Alcoholism. For 17 years, he served as the executive director of the New Mexico State Commission on Alcoholism. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen Woodard; daughters, Laurie Bross and Claudia Dignan; sons, Don and Jim Woodard; 16 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
