Obituary for Byrd

Our loving and giving mother, Margaret L. Byrd, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1959, died Friday, February 18, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Tom Byrd and wife, Tammy and Jim Byrd and wife, Karrie, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Jennifer Byrd of Denver, CO, Jason Byrd of Belton, TX and Lori Walker and husband, Warren of Horseshoe Bay, TX; sister, Lela Jane Marshall and husband, Foch of Burnet, TX; brother, Clyde Andrew Lyda and wife, Ramona of Oatmeal, TX; and many other special family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.E."Buck" Byrd Jr. in 1986. Mrs. Byrd was a longtime realtor and broker in Albuquerque. She was very active in the development of Connie Mack Baseball in Albuquerque in the mid 60's. Mrs. Byrd was an avid genealogist and author of"Lyda Ledger II." Services will be held Monday, 3:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Pastor Clark Henderson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Wes Malone, Jim Byrd, Tom Byrd, and Jason Byrd. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE 87110 or charity of donors choice. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
