Obituary for Kimbrough

Leah Jane Kimbrough passed away Sunday, February 13, 2000, at the age of 94. She was the last living daughter of Avery C. and Minerva Humphrey Wilkins. She was preceded in death by her twin, Lois, and Frances and Virginia. Leah was born in Jennings, LA in 1906, married William R.L. Kimbrough in 1934, and gave birth to two sons, William and Avery, in Shreveport before moving to Albuquerque in 1946 in the quest for a cure for asthma for her husband and younger son. Her husband passed away in 1986. Leah is survived by her two sons and their wives, Patricia and Louise and their families which comprise Leah's six grandchildren, Steve, Mont, Sandra, Laura, Jonathan and Leanne; and her six great-grandchildren, Olivia, Wesley, Taliah, Colin, William and Mikendra. The family and their families, as well as close friends have held a memorial service for Leah. The family requests that your remembrance of Leah be expressed through a donation to the Alzheimer's Foundation, to the Storehouse, or to Project Share. We are grateful for your remembrance and for the loving attention and care givers to Leah by Albuquerque Care Center. Cremation arrangements are by Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200.
