Obituary for Moyer

Maj. Clair Edward Moyer, USAF Ret., died Saturday, February 19, 2000 after a lengthy illness. He moved to Albuquerque with his family after his military service ended in 1969. He was born in Lodi, Ohio in 1916. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; two sons, Richard and Bob; two daughters, Cindy and Karen; and grandchildren, Hank Bradbury, Jessica Hagman and Robert Moyer; and a great-grandchild, Alexander. Clair was a member of the Army Air Corp during WWII, as well as serving during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He graduated from the University of Denver after WWII and completed graduate courses at UCLA. He was a member of Hope Evangelical Free Church. After his Air Force retirement he taught elementary school in the Albuquerque Public School system for several years. He attended and played the piano for Bible Study Fellowship, as well as being active in the Gideon's during his last years. There will be a memorial service at Heights Cumberland Presyberian Church, 8600 Academy NE on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., and will later be interned at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to the Gideon's Ministry. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW, 505-343-8008.
