Obituary for Herring

John Andrew Herring, November 15, 1930 - February 17, 2000, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and avid sportsman and outdoorsman. He served in the United States Marine Corps in China during World War II and in the United States Army in the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts. After his retirement from the military, he was employed by the Bernalillo County Sheriffs Department for 22 years as Director of Administration and Finance. He held the Bachelors and Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of New Mexico. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Herring; and three children, Lesa French and husband, Michael French of Las Vegas, NV, Morgan French, and Jonathan French and wife, Maurica French of Orlando, FL; and great-grandchildren, Eliana, Alia and Micah, Norvell Glynn Herring and wife, Sheila Herring of Raleigh, NC; children, Joseph Herring and wife, Derek Herring, Dylan and Ethan Herring, Laura Corey and husband, Myles Corey of Cape Cod, MA, Nathan Cobler and Joshua Fulcher of Cape Cod, MA. Friends may visit French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Monday, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Services will be held on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, New Mexico. Pallbearers will be Nathan S. Cobler, Arsenio Brito, Noel Behne, James Tate, N.
