Jobes -- Charles"Charlie" Jobes, 50, of Albuquerque, died August 6, 1999. Charles was born in Pasadena, Texas. He graduated from Pasadena High School and attended North Texas State College in Denton, Texas. He was self-employed as a musician in the Albuquerque, Golden, Madras area for many years. He is survived by his mother, Betty Ruth Jobes of Galveston, TX; one brother, J. Larry Smith of Highlands, TX; and his loving partner, Rayann Robino of Albuquerque. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 12, 5:30 p.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, make donations to your favorite charity.

Jablon -- Stanley H. Jablon, 70, a former resident of Albuquerque, died July 21, 1999 in Green Acres, FL. He is survived by his loving family, daughter, Erica Grubbs and husband, Michael; sons, Leonard Jablon of California, David Jablon and wife, Barbara of Massachusetts; grandchildren, Monique and Brandon Grubbs of New Mexico and Leah Jablon of California; great-grandson, Christopher Grubbs of New Mexico; sister, Florence Rosenthal; brother, Larry Jablon and wife, Joan; brother-in-law, Dr. Norman Pearl and wife, Dolores, all of Florida; sister-in-law, Rochelle Pearl of Louisiana; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lorraine. Interment took place in Wellwood Cemetery in New York. A Memorial service will be held Sunday, August 1, 4:30 p.m., at Congregation B'nai Israel with Rabbi Isaac Celnik and Cantor Josh Perlman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the pre-school and kindergarten fund at Congregation B'nai Israel, 4401 Indian School Rd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.

Torres -- Mr. Salome C. Torres died Wednesday in Albuquerque at the age of 54. Mr. Torres was a Catholic Church member. He touched many people's lives and will be remembered as being very kind, loving and generous. Mr. Torres was preceded in death by his son, Leonard Sandoval. He is survived by his sons, Vicente Torres of Albuquerque and Raymond Sandoval of Colorado; daughter, Charlotte Torres-Chavez of Albuquerque; brothers, Jerry Torres, Nestor Torres and wife, Alice, Robert Torres and wife, Jackie and Randy Torres, all of Albuquerque; sisters, Patsy Mora and husband, Adam, Stephanie Griego, Mable Martinez and husband, Frank, Lucy Torres, all of Albuquerque, and Sylvia Chavez and husband, Tony of Emeryville, CA; and grandchildren, Cecilia, Leonard, Gilbert, Corina, Stephanie, Raymond Jr., Desirey and Norman. Funeral services for Mr. Torres will be held on Saturday at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will take place following the Funeral Mass. A Memorial Mass and burial of the cremains will take place in Chilili, NM, time and place will be announced at a later time. Pallbearers will be Jerry Torres, Nestor Torres, Robert Torres, Randy Torres, Fernando Torres, and Randy Torres Jr., Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Sandoval, Vincent Baca, Gilbert Chavez and Larry Martinez. Visitation will be held on Friday, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening, 7:00 p.m., at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.

Hoke -- Major Franklin E. Hoke, USAF (Retired), 82, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 1999. He leaves behind a legacy of his wife of 49 years, Toyoko of Albuquerque; three sons, Stephen E. Hoke and his wife, Joanne of Hinesburg, VT, Lt. Col. Franklin E. Hoke Jr., USAF of Rome, NY, and Richard T. Hoke and his wife, Dolores of Albuquerque; one daughter, Joanne of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Michael of Clearwater, FL, Jean Marie of Wilmington, DE, Alicia and Tiffany, both of Rome, NY, Charity of Los Lunas, and Ellisa, and Adam, both of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, Heather of Clearwater, FL and Joslyn of Los Lunas; two nephews, Larry of Oregon and John of Connecticut; and one niece, Dawn of Clinton, NY. Prior to retiring and moving to Albuquerque in 1993, Major Hoke was the Westampton Tax Collector for the State of New Jersey. Prior to this position, Major Hoke served as the General Manager of Interstate Storage and Pipeline Corporation in Jacksonville, NJ. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 23 years of service to his country, serving in WWII and the Korean War. Major Hoke will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Chaplain Major Jeffrey A. James, USAF officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mohler -- Fern Skousen Mohler, a resident of Albuquerque for 60 years, passed away on Monday, July 26, 1999. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for over 60 years. She is survived by her three sons, Charles Dale Mohler and wife, Edwina of Grantsville, UT, Larry D. Mohler of Las Vegas, NV, Jerry D. Mohler and wife, Vivian of Albuquerque; three sisters, May Oates of Arizona, Velva Lapin of Arizona, Beulah Brady of Arizona; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Fern was a devoted, wonderful, loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved her church, many friends and family, and was an active member of her church. She had been a Primary Counselor, teacher, relief society, work counselor, work director, quilt director, as well as head of many other positions. Mark King will officiate at her services. Pallbearers will be Terry Mohler, Charlie Mohler, Duane Walker, Ricky Black, Tom DuBois, David Steffenson and John Skousen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 1999, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, Albuquerque 87106. Valdez -- Mr. Thomas F. Valdez, 68, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 27, 1999. Mr. Valdez is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Elisa; three daughters, Diana Gomez, Maryann Marquez and husband, Albert, Lisa Portillo and husband, Tom; one son, Tom F. Valdez Jr. and wife, Rhonda; three sisters, Laverne Esposito, Louise Lasley, Evelyn Oates and husband, Larry; one brother, Pete Valdez and wife, Goldie; 14 grandchildren, Brian, Jason, John and Adam Valdez, Tommy Lee and Anthony Gomez, Christina, Brianne, Beverly, Merlinda and Valerie Marquez, Annamarie, Miranda and Angelica Portillo; two great-grandchildren, Andrew Lee Gomez and Alexis Valdez; his in-laws, Stella M. Baca and husband, Joe, Jennie Lopez, Claude Marino and wife, Chris and Joe Marino and wife, Cecilia; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Valdez was a member of the Catholic Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict, a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union #49, Life Member of the D.A.V. Chapter 3, and member of American Legion Post 13. Visitation will be Wednesday evening, from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna NW, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. by Gabriella Nieto. Final visitation will be Thursday morning in the church, from 8:30 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., with a Communion service at 9:00 a.m., Deacon Juan Barrajas, Officiant. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tafoya -- Piedad Compos Tafoya, born April 5th, 1905, passed away in her sleep, July 22, 1999. A lifetime resident of New Mexico, she has left a legacy of 8 children: Louise Gonzales, Tony Tafoya, Don Tafoya, Ema Armijo, MaryAna Fernandez, Alfonso Tafoya, Larry Tafoya and Raymond Tafoya. With those 8 children she left 56 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren. She will be loved and missed very deeply. May God keep her always. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday, July 25, 1999, at 7:00 p.m. at Palm Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave, SE. Albuquerque, New Mexico. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 25, 1999 at Palm Chapel from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Services will be held at San Clemente Church in Los Lunas at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 26, 1999. Rustemeyer -- Melissa A. Rustemeyer, age 16, passed away on July 22, 1999.
