Bagley -- Richard R. Bagley, 51, a resident of Bosque Farms, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 1999. Richard was born May 17, 1948, the son of E.R. and Dorothy Williams Bagley in Odessa, Texas. He had been involved in ranching, in both cattle and sheep. Richard is survived by his wife, Ivy Bagley of Bosque Farms; his father, E.R."Bud" Bagley; two daughters; two sisters; one brother; three granddaughters; two grandsons; four nieces; four nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 31, 1999, 2:00 p.m., at the Corona Presbyterian Church, Corona, New Mexico, with Chaplain Reuben Carlson officiating. Best -- Lema Nichole Best, 20, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 1999. She was a member of the Westside Family Chapel of Los Lunas. Lema is a favored child of God. She loved being a wife and mother. Lema was a loving daughter and sister. Her passions were sewing, designing clothing, nursing and reading. Most of all she loved talking and being with people. Lema was a 1996 graduate of Los Lunas High School and graduate of the Career Enrichment Center Nursing Program also in 1996. She was preceded in death by her aunt, Wanda Reece in 1999; maternal grandmother, Vivian Arp in 1996; cousins, Michael Williams in 1998, and David Knight in 1993. Lema is survived by her loving husband of two years, Jimmy of the family home in Los Lunas; two children, K.C. Ray and Kayleigh Jewel of the family home in Los Lunas; her parents, Kenneth L. And Sandra K. Englert of Los Lunas; her sister, Kendra Jo and brother, Barry, both of Los Lunas; paternal grandparents, JoAnn and Ray of Big Bear Lake, CA; maternal grandfather, Elgin Reece of Albuquerqu; her father and mother-in-law, Jim and Karen Best of Frederick, MD; one sister-in-law, Leslie and her husband, John of Dale City, VA; two brothers-in-law, Kevin and Steven of Frederick, MD. She is also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Cremation ahs taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Westside Family Chapel in Los Lunas. Bostick -- Services for Annie Elizabeth Bostick, 83, of Lubbock will be Monday 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church Bowman Chapel with Rev. Keith Wiseman officiating. Burial will be in the Englewood Cemetery in Slaton, Texas. She died Friday, July 23, 1999, at IHS of Lubbock. She was born May 16, 1916 in Carey, Texas. She earned her Bachelors degree and Masters degree from Texas Tech University. She lived in Lamesa from 1924 until she moved to Slaton in 1936. She then moved to Lubbock in 1946. She retired from the Lubbock Independent School District in 1981. She was a member of the Lubbock Classroom Teacher's Association, the Texas State Teacher's Association, the National Education Association, the Lubbock County Teacher's Association and the Llegro Music Sorority. She was a member of the First United Methodist church. Survivors include three nephews: Leon Bostick of Albuquerque, NM, Royce Bostick of Bloomingfield, NM, and David Bostick of Denver City, Texas; four nieces: Leola Shrauner of Iola, Kansas, Janette Schafer of Lamesa, Linda Spellins of Irving, and Ann Bostick of Albuquerque, NM; a sister-in-law, Grace Bostick also of Albuquerque, NM. Bracken -- Clarence E." Sonny" Bracken, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1963, died Thursday, July 22, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie J. Bracken of the family home; daughters, Beverly Jackson and James Jackson, Jacqueline M. Casteel and husband, Jess and Sandra Kay Isaminger and husband, John, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Monica St. John and husband, Chris, Sherry and Christie Jackson, Charles A. Dowdy III, Tonya, David and Shawn Casteel and Victoria Isaminger; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Brittney Neff, Alexxa and Sabrina Nieto, Trinity Nicole and Richard Dowdy and Angelica Michelle Casteel; also numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Betty Jo Barro; and his granddaughter, Michelle Isaminger. Mr. Bracken retired as an USAF Staff Sergeant after 21 years. He then went on to served as Games Director for 18 years at the University of New Mexico."Sonny" Bracken was a former champion boxer, a Pan American Games Champion, two-time Pacific Theater Champion, and an Olympic trial invitee. He had over 340 wins and fewer than 40 losses. His greatest memory was sparring with the great all time middle weight champion, Sugar Ray Robinson. Services will be held Monday, July 26, 1999, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Blvd. NE, with Chaplain Col. Lemuel M. Boyles, USAF, Ret., officiating. Edmonds -- Patricia B. Edmonds On July 11, 1999 at the Los Alamos Church of Christ, in Los Alamos, New Mexico, a memorial service was held to celebrate the life of Patricia Edmonds. Born July 24, 1921 in Isabelle, Kansas, she graduated from high school in Norwich, Kansas, and the School of Nursing at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas in 1942. Upon her graduation, she worked as a nurse for Boeing Aircraft. She came to Los Alamos in 1947. Pat is survived by her husband of 57 years, James and her sons, James and his wife, Kay and Charles and his wife, Carolyn and grandsons, Sidney and James, all of Houston. She is also survived by her three brothers and a sister and their families. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who spent her life supporting the many activities surrounding her husband and family. Pat was loved by all who knew her and was dedicated to helping others. At one time or another, her life touched many in Los Alamos. Throughout her carer she strove for excellence; she was active in the New Mexico State Nurses Association and other professional associations and societies. She began her career in Los Alamos as a nursing supervisor at the Los Alamos Medical Center and worked in obstetrics and gynecology for 40 years. In both her personal and professional lives Pat was always there with a helping hand for those in need. She was involved in many aspects of the community and church having been a member and teacher in the Los Alamos Church of Christ since 1947. Her community activities included Boy Scouts of America, Little League, Red Cross, PTA, Los Alamos Medical Center Auxiliary, Los Alamos Historical Society, Senior Citizens Center, and the Garden Club. In all of these activities she play a leadership role and served as a resource to the community. Those who wish may make a donation in her memory to the Los Alamos Historical Museum, or a favorite charity. The Los Alamos Historical Museum is located at Central Avenue at Fuller Lodge, Los Alamos, New Mexico 87544.

Grossman-Aspler -- Grossman- Fay Grossman-Aspler, May 27, 1908 - July 20, 1999 We celebrate Fay's good life. She had a very positive attitude and her pleasant manner knew no bound. She was born Fay Miller in London, England and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, Archie Grossman and Sidney Aspler. While she lived most of her adult life in Miami, FL, she spent her last five years in Albuquerque with her son and daughter-in-law, Leonard and Toby Grossman. Her pride and joy was her granddaughter, Jennifer of San Francisco. Fay cherished friends and good memories she had as a member of the Coral Gables Chapter of B'nai B'rith Women and as a resident of the Grand Court in Albuquerque. Hoyt -- Claudine Hoyt, age 83, passed away July 22 in a local hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gwynn Hoyt; and son, Adrian Stungo of London, England. She is survived by her brother, Gerald Joseph and wife, Colleen; a sister, Viviane Furst of Edinburgh, Scotland; son, David Stungo and daughter, Christine and wife, Ruth of Geneva, Switzerland; a granddaughter, Naomi Stungo of London, England; her mother, Ruth Stungo; a grandson, Ben Stungo of Leeds, England; nephews, Paul Joseph and family, Pat Joseph and family; nieces, Marilyn Posner and family of Dix Hills; nephew, Stephen Furst and family; nieces, Susan Strahan of Edinburgh, Scotland, Joan and Gary Heymann, and cousins of Albuquerque. Claudine Hoyt was active in many areas, Hospice, Pres. Volunteer. Claudine and her husband, Gwynn owned and operated the Hoyts Dinnerbell Restaurant for many years, she leaves behind many friends and family. She will be missed. Jacobson -- John A. Jacobson, Jr."Jake" age 85, passed away July 20, 1999. He is preceded in death by his son; Steve Jacobson; and his brother, Norman Jacobson. He is survived by his wife, Marge Jacobson; and one daughter, Ann Lenert. Jake was a home builder and a farmer in the North Valley for many years. Born July 26, 1914, at Rio Grande Industrial School in the South Valley of Albuquerque, where both parents, John A. Jacobson and Elizabeth Mayo were teachers. He graduated in 1939 from UNM with a BS in Electrical Engineering. Jake had a long association with the UNM as a Professor; and with the Physical Plant. A Memorial Service will be held in the fall in the Mal Pais near Mount Taylor, Sacred Mountain; this is near the power line he helped build as a young man and is still in use today.

Kelley -- Patrick John Kelley went to be with the Lord on July 24, 1999 at the age of 61 after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his mother, Lorraine Kelley, his wife, Nancy Williams; five daughters by marriage, Debbie Reinhart, Gina Studer, Lori Berger, Kathy Abrams, Sam Champion and John Bentz, whom his considered a son, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends. Pat grew up in Albuquerque and was a loving husband and father who was a patriot at heart and a lifelong member of the NRA. Kenrick -- Joseph D. Kenrick, 77, died on July 22, 1999 in Albuquerque. He was born in Dover, New Jersey and was a graduate of Forham University. He served in the US Marine Corps 2nd Division during World War II where he received the Purple Heart. He married Jean Flanagan in 1950. They moved to Albuquerque in 1974 where Mr. Kenrick founded Insty-Prints. He is survived by his wife, Jean F. Kenrick; daughter, Fern Goldstein and husband, Eric of Philadelphia, PA; sons, Phillip Kenrick of El Paso, TX, Anthony Kenrick and wife, Patricia of New Orleans, LA; sisters, Rosemary Kenrick and Suzanne Fillhart; and four grandchildren. Visitation is scheduled from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. today at Sandia Funeral Care. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Paul Baca as Celebrant. Lowrey -- I.D."Barney" Lowrey, 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, July 22, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Ouida Lowrey of Albuquerque; sons, Keith Lowrey and wife, Holly of Denver, CO and Jim Lowrey and wife, Gwen, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Piper and James Lowrey of Denver, CO and Zach Guay of Albuquerque; brothers, Myron Lowrey and wife, Heidi of Rancho Cordova, CA and Gene Lowrey and wife, Barbara of Albuquerque; and sister, Beverly Slade of Viroqua, WI. Mr. Lowrey was born December 1, 1922 in LaFarge, WI. He married Ouida McKinley on July 12, 1953. He worked for Western Electric for 38 years. Mcallen -- Dennis W. McAllen passed on July 20, 1999 very unexpectedly at the TSI at University Hospital. He was born December 21, 1940 in Baltimore, MD. He serviced 16 years in the US Army as a medic and instructor. He graduated from the Sinai School of Radiologic Technology as a Radiographer in Baltimore, MD. As a proponent of Higher Education, he pursued his own educational aspirations in Maryland, North Carolina, Georgia and New Mexico. For nine years, he worked as a Radiographer at UNMH and was Supervisor/Manager of the Radiology unit of Carrie Tingley Hospital in Albuquerque. He was a mentor of students and prospective students. He loved children which led to his volunteering as a"cuddler" at the Neo Natal Unit at University Hospital and then to his position at CT Childrens' Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Ann Martin-McAllen of 15 years; daughter, Suzanne and four step-daughters, Terry Schadt, Ann-Marie Kaufman, Georgette Maker and Inga Heafner; sons-in-law, Tom Kaufman and Tony Maker, nine grandchildren; sister, Barbara Naw of South Carolina and beloved dog, Elliott. He was also a member of St. Andrews Society, The New Warriors, PCSA-Speakers Bureau and Buddies Care, and an adopted member of the Deer Clan of the Osage Tribe, as Grey Elk. Dennis was an avid lover of nature, mountains and the ocean, an ardent bird watcher, horseman and camper. He was an accomplished vocalist and actor and loved comedy and storytelling! On Thursday July 22, Dennis was brought to his home in Albuquerque for a traditional Osage Ceremony. On Friday July 23"A Celebration of Dennis' Life" was held in the Board Room at CTH with family and friends in attendance. Dennis' passion for bagpipe music and jazz, was realized when piper, Colonel Craig Chamberlain played some of Dennis' favorite music, part of which honored his military service. He was Eulogized by his two sons-in-law, Tony Maker and Tom Kaufman, his daughters, Suzanne McAllen and Ann-Marie Kaufman, friends, the CEO of CTH, Robert Meruca and Chaplain Dave Harterberg. After his wife, Ann's more intimate perspective, his favorite love song was played followed by his jazz favorites. A special thanks to Mr. Meruca, Betty Sedillo and John Austin of CTH for putting on this wonderful celebration of Dennis' life. We also thank friends, co-workers and the administration of Carrie Tingley Hospital and University Hospital for honoring Dennis by dedicating a room in Radiology in his name. Also, a plaque with his photo and inspiring words from his co-workers and friends has been placed in the reception area of CTH. Cremation arrangements by the Sunrise Society of NM, 891-8200. Merren -- George Merren, born Jun 22, 1931, died Thursday, July 22, 1999. George was a Korean War Veteran. He was a member of the American Legiom, Post 69. He retired from Sandia National Laboratories after 37 years of service. George is survived by his wife of 41 years, Alice of Albuquerque; three sons; Richard of Bangkok, Thailand, Tom and David, both of Albuquerque; and two granddaughters. Visitations will be held 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday July 26, 1999 at the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. Evening Services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. at the Post 69 officiating. Mixon -- Winbourn M. Mixon (Major, US Army Retired), 79, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1980, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 1999. Winbourn was born December 14, 1919, the son of Otis and Valley May Mixon in Plain Dealing, Louisiana. Winbourn was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, and also was a Business Teacher. Winbourn is survived by his wife, Connie Mixon of Rio Rancho; two daughters, Debbie Manoogian of Lafayette, CO and Linda D. Mixon of Albuquerque; two brothers and two sisters; two grandchildren, Valerie Baker and Tracy Manoogian of Henderson, NV; one great-grandchild, Bryant Baker of Henderson, NV. Moya -- George R. Moya, Jr., (Willi) 23, beloved husband, father, son, uncle, nephew and friend was called home to be with our Father July 21, 1999. George was a resident of Tajique, NM. His hobbies were bullriding and hunting, making others laugh and lending a helping hand. George was preceded in death by his two infant brothers, Richard and Joe, his parental grandparents, Isaias and Emma Moya, two uncles, Bobby and Ikey Moya, four infant nephews, Seth, Stanley, Samuel and Sean Gutierrez. He is survived by his loving wife, Reanetta L'Esperance-Moya of the family home, his two beautiful daughters, Angelique and Selena. Also surviving are his loving parents, George Sr., and Frances Moya of Tijeras, NM. Olguin -- DAVID G. OLGUIN October 9, 1931 - July 25, 1988 Back in the winter of 1953 I took this walk with my beloved. The road was so long we could not see its end. Together we walked hand in hand along this road; we begot three sons and five beautiful granddaughters. Oh, the joy of looking ahead, but then in the summer of 1988 I looked up the road, I turned around, no where could I see my beloved. I said to myself,"this cannot be." Olson -- Paul S. Olson, 39, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away July 16, following open heart surgery. Paul was a graduate of Del Norte High School. He was a Sales Engineer for Stewart & Stevenson Power, Inc. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph W. Olson. He is survived by his mother, Joan; three sisters and their husbands, Terri and Rick Eldridge, Jan and Paul Stone, and Jennifer and Davis Gauntt; one brother and his wife, Joel Lorn and Loretta Olson. Paul had four nephews, Austin Garth, Blake, Dylan, and Gavin; and two nieces, Cody and Jana; aunts and uncles, Judy and Todd Blue, Kenneth Olson and Genevieve and Edwin Zurawski; and cousins, Judy Howard and Ed Zurawski. Paul was a motorsports enthusiast and an accomplished diesel mechanic. He enjoyed long term friendships with people in many walks of life. The family wishes to express thanks to these friends, especially Terry and Dan Furlong, Shawna Cohen, Suzanna Francis and Jon Wagner for making his last months very happy ones. We will all miss him. A Memorial service will be held at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Avenue SE, at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 5th. Swank -- Gary Dale Swank, born July 11, 1964, was finally at peace when he left this earth on July 18, 1999, after a courageous battle against cancer. He is survived by his parents, Guy L. and Mary A. Swank; sister, Traci L. Sanchez and husband, Kraig; nephew, Noah A.; niece, Jenna Mari who will especially miss their uncle, Gary and he will always be remembered as their hero. Many aunts, uncles and cousins and people who cared for him. He was preceded in death by his beloved aunt, Zona Mae Hamm who never at any time stopped believing him and his longtime childhood friend, Robert (Bobby) Scott. Those who knew Gary know what type of hard battles he has fought over his lifetime. He will no longer have the hardship of his life to haunt him anymore, no more pain or sadness. He will be missed by his family who are thankful to have had the time they did, also by his best friend, Runt. A special thank you to UNM Home Health Care/Hospice nurses, Sharon Jaynes and Ray Mazon. Tafoya -- Piedad Compos Tafoya, born April 5th, 1905, passed away in her sleep, July 22, 1999. A lifetime resident of New Mexico, she has left a legacy of 8 children: Louise Gonzales, Tony Tafoya, Don Tafoya, Ema Armijo, MaryAna Fernandez, Alfonso Tafoya, Larry Tafoya and Raymond Tafoya. With those 8 children she left 56 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren. She will be loved and missed very deeply. May God keep her always.
