Obituary for Hoke

Major Franklin E. Hoke, USAF (Retired), 82, passed away Tuesday, July 27, 1999. He leaves behind a legacy of his wife of 49 years, Toyoko of Albuquerque; three sons, Stephen E. Hoke and his wife, Joanne of Hinesburg, VT, Lt. Col. Franklin E. Hoke Jr., USAF of Rome, NY, and Richard T. Hoke and his wife, Dolores of Albuquerque; one daughter, Joanne of Massachusetts; seven grandchildren, Michael of Clearwater, FL, Jean Marie of Wilmington, DE, Alicia and Tiffany, both of Rome, NY, Charity of Los Lunas, and Ellisa, and Adam, both of Albuquerque; two great-grandchildren, Heather of Clearwater, FL and Joslyn of Los Lunas; two nephews, Larry of Oregon and John of Connecticut; and one niece, Dawn of Clinton, NY. Prior to retiring and moving to Albuquerque in 1993, Major Hoke was the Westampton Tax Collector for the State of New Jersey. Prior to this position, Major Hoke served as the General Manager of Interstate Storage and Pipeline Corporation in Jacksonville, NJ. He retired from the U.S. Air Force with 23 years of service to his country, serving in WWII and the Korean War. Major Hoke will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, 11:30 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery, with Chaplain Major Jeffrey A. James, USAF officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
