Paynter -- Henry A. Paynter, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Monday, May 15, 2000. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Patsy Romero Paynter of Albuquerque; brothers, Henry M. Wilt and wife, Vicki of Mesa, AZ and Ivan Wright and wife, Marianne of Albuquerque; sons, Alfred Joseph Paynter and wife, Jan of Knoxville, TN, Michael Sandoval and wife, Janice of Albuquerque, and Marvin Sandoval and wife, Laura, all of Albuquerque, Tony Paynter and wife, Hope of Los Lunas, and Steven Paynter and wife, Bobbie of Belen; daughters, Nancy Paynter-Lucero of Hayward, CA, Christine Sandoval and husband, Christopher of Albuquerque, and Susie Smrt and husband, Chuck of Belen; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Mr. Paynter was a survivor of WWII where he earned his Purple Heart in the U.S. Navy. Seelbach -- William H. Seelbach Sr., 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, May 13, 2000. He is survived by his sons, William H. Seelbach Jr. of Cubero, Richard A. Seelbach of Steven City, VA and Ramon T. Seelbach of Reno, NV; sisters, Mildred J. Seelbach, and Madeline M. Nichols, both of Sun City, CA; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Agnes Seelbach in 1985. Mr. Seelbach served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Korigidor. He was a life member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a good fisherman and taught all his sons to fish. Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo del Norte NE. Services will be held Wednesday, May 17, 10:00 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 5709 Haines Ave. N.E. with Bishop Marlin McNeil officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Robert Shanley, John Mitchell, Allan Colledge, Robert W. Jones, Donald Skabelund, and Brian D. Decker. Jones -- Georgia M. Jones, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Friday, May 12, 2000. Georgia is survived by her husband, Donald J. Jones of Albuquerque; two daughters, Carol Ann Jones and fiance, Mark Campbell of Albuquerque and Barbara J. Decker and her husband, Douglas W. Decker of Gallup, NM; one son, Robert W. Jones and partner in life, Monika Martinez both of Albuquerque; three sisters, Irene Mitchell of Provo, Utah, Joanne Colledge of Prescott, AZ, and Mary Murray of Orem, Utah; one brother, John"Jack" Mitchell of St. George, Utah; two grandsons and three granddaughters. Georgia was very active in the community. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The church was a passion of hers and a place where she gave of her time and efforts as a volunteer. Georgia was also a volunteer at the Veteran's Hospital. She was a graduate with honors from Brigham Young University. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, painter and enjoyed handwork. She worked crossword puzzles and loved working in her magnificent garden. Above all she loved and was greatly involved with her grandchildren. Soblick -- Revenna Soblick,, 73, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968, passed away on May 12, 2000, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Benjamin Soblick of Albuquerque; son, Martin Soblick and wife, Diane Soblick of Del Mar, California, son, Steven Soblick and wife, Audrey of Brooklyn, New York, son, Leonard Soblick and wife, Sheila Soblick of Albuquerque; five grandchildren; sisters, Anne Blacker of New Jersey, and Fay Berkley of Del Ray Beach, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. Revenna will be missed by her friends in the Chavurah Hamidbar, Chabad of New Mexico, ORT, The Joyful Sounds, Hadassah, the children and teachers at the S.Y. Jackson Elementary School, where she worked for many years, and many others who knew and loved her. Manit -- Nancy Ann Holston Thacker Sowanick Manit began another spiritual journey on May 10, 2000, planting day, at her home in Albuquerque. She was 61 years old and is survived by her seven children, Brenda Sue, Karen Lee, Steven Brett, Laura Kim, Scott Kenneth, Kira Aniya, and Paul Jesse III; her 24 grandchildren and her three great-grandchildren. Also surviving her are husband, Harvey Lee Thacker and Paul Jesse Sowanick II; and brother, Jack Holston. She really didn't like the fact that the white man killed off the buffalo. She embraced all religions, all people, all animals (except porcupines). Contributions can be made in her name to Cornucopia Adult Daycare Center and Homemaker Services, 877-1310. Maldonado -- Mrs. Florinda Maldonado, 88, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 5, 2000. Mrs. Maldonado is survived by three daughters, Mela Gutierrez and husband, Robert, Erlinda Gabaldon and husband, Gilbert and Angela Sanchez and husband, Henry; four sons, George McAfee and wife, Stella, Joe McAfee and wife, Annie of Whitier, CA, Leroy McAfee and wife, Isabel of Chandler, AZ and Frank McAfee and wife, Gloria of Chilili, NM; three sisters, Perfy Marquez and husband, Tony, Trinidad Gallegos and Lilly Keylon and husband, Jack; one brother, Daniel Gutierrez and wife, Oralia; 22 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Maldonado; parents, Francisco and Manuelita Gutierrez; grandson, Frank McAfee Jr.; sisters, Anastacia Valencia and Josephine Gabaldon and a brother, Vigilio Gutierrez. Mrs. Maldonado was a member of the Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited Sunday evening, 8:00 a.m., at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW, with visitation at the church after 7:30 p.m. Gabriella Nieto reciting. Shelto -- Mr. Jon H. Shelto, 58, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 4, 2000. Mr. Shelto is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Mariah; one daughter, Jazzy Shelto; two sons, Darrel Mullendore and Charles Shelto and wife, Denise; six grandchildren, Darrle Jr., Brittany, Charles, John, Mariah, Lucerta and Jon Andrew; three sisters, Ellen Dawkins and husband, Louis, Marilyn Shelto and Karen Lowe; three brothers, Steven Shelto and wife, Marie, Clarence Shelto and Kevin Shelto; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Mr. Shelto was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, a Minister of the word, A Gospel singer, a painter, and loved his family. A prayer service will be Sunday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor James Mitchell, officiating. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. A Committal service with full Military Honors is scheduled for Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the Santa Fe National Cemetery. Cavasos -- Ervan Clayton Cavasos, 91, a resident of Moriarty, passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2000. He was born to James and Anna Mahala Cavasos, November 2, 1908 in Leedy, Oklahoma. They moved to New Mexico when he was 12 years old, he and his mother had become sick with T.B. He married Eunice Martin, July 5, 1928 in Estancia, NM and moved to Moriarty in 1937 with their beautiful children, Naomi, Marvin, Carl, Alvin Ray, Alda Mae and Howard. In 1945, two more beautiful daughters were added to the family, Nita and Rita. He is survived by his children; brother, Donald; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice; and youngest son, Howard. Ervan and his family lived through some hard times, but his faith and loved in the Lord helped carry them through. He taught Sunday School for many years and preached on occasion. He felt that God had called him to tell others about Christ and so the Lord used his business as a mission field. He raised all his children to know the Lord and he was known to say,"That was his greatest accomplishment." Ervan was known throughout the county for his excellence in welding his honesty, and hard working attitude, he was a wonderful dad, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle; he will be missed by those who loved and knew him. Ervan will lie in state Friday, May 5, 2000, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at the Harris-Hanlon Chapel in Moriarty. Services will be Saturday, May 6, 2000, 1:30 p.m., at the Stanley Union Church in Stanley, NM, with James Thompson, officiating. Burial will follow at the Mountain View Cemetery in Moriarty. Pallbearers will be Jay Kirlin, David Cavasos, Ernie Cavasos, Bobby Taylor, Damon Taylor, and Chris Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Cavasos, Mike Cavasos, Joe Cavasos, Woodrow Love, Saul, Gene Cavasos, Steven Yoder, Weldon Sewell, Boyd Corfield and Beryl D. Martin. Hansen -- Anne Elizabeth Lathrop Hansen passed away in her home in Albuquerque on Wednesday, April 26, 2000. Anne is survived by her four children and their families, Mark Hansen of Santa Barbara, CA, his daughter, Kathleen Dunn of Alexandria, VA, David Hansen and wife, Elaine of Chicago, IL, Leith Black and husband, Randy of Niceville, FL, their daughter, Alexandra, and Roderick Hansen and wife, Lydia of Albuquerque, their children, Ariana, and Andrew; sister, Frances Sweeney and husband, Edwin of Santa Fe (with whom Anne took several trips abroad in recent years); niece, Shawn Hollendonner and her family of Santa Fe; and nephew, Steven Sweeney and his family of Reno, NV. All agree that Anne's was a wondrous life, complete with adventure, discovery, and the poetry of family love."I listened, motionless and still--- And, as I climbed upon the hill --- The music in my heart I bore--- Long after it was heard no more."
