Archuleta -- Mr. Joe Elith Archuleta died Tuesday in Albuquerque at the age of 75. Mr. Archuleta was a resident of El Carmel, NM and was a member of the Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife, Ida S. Archuleta; sons, Joe Archuleta and Bercy of Las Vegas, Alex Archuleta and Isabel of San Ramon, CA, John Archuleta and Irene of Gallup, NM, Vincent Archuleta and Jesusita Vigil of El Carmel, NM, Leroy Archuleta and George Burgnone of Albuquerque, and James Archuleta and Michelle of Freemont, CA; daughters, Julie Gallegos and Don Martinez of Ojo Caliente, NM, Frances Archuleta and Gabe Garcia of Albuquerque, and Theresa Sandoval and Ben of Medenales, NM; brother, Jose P. Archuleta and Maria of Oakland, CA; half sisters, Maria Archuleta of Trinidad, CO and Rafaela; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Aspin -- James Gary, 45, made his transition on January 23, 2000 in Phoenix, AZ."Jim" was a former Albuquerque resident who graduated from Manzano High School in 1972 and attended UNM. He graduated from Scottsdale Community College in 1998 in the midst of his battle with cancer. Jim is sorely missed by his mother and step-father, Beverley and Harold Patterson of Mobile, AL; sister, Jana Lee Aspin of Albuquerque; nephew, Jeremy Aspin Schofield; cousins Terri, Tami and Tim of Duluth, MN; and a large community of loving friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Russell Aspin, in 1985. Local services will be held Saturday, July 8 at 1:00 p.m. For directions to the memorial call 898-6823. Conner -- Maj. Lloyd W. Conner, (US Army, retired) 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Sunday July 2, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen; daughter, Katherine ONeal and husband, Larry of Albuquerque; son, David Conner and wife, Alice of Loveland, CO.; grandchildren, Rebecca Rowley and husband, Steve, Lee Ann Lofstrom and husband, Chris, William ONeal and wife, Tami and Kevin ONeal and wife, Tara; great- grandchildren, Justice and Raven; and sister, Wilba May Cox of Milton, FL. Mr. Conner was a graduate of UNM and he served his country in the US Army for 21 years during WWII and the Korean Conflict. Costales -- Gertrude B. Costales, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, June 30, 2000. She is survived by her son, Ron Costales and wife, Cheryle of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Danielle Costales of Rio Rancho and Kathleen Kelly; great-grandson, Elijah Kelly; sisters, Lillie B. Chavez, all of Albuquerque and Tillie B. Pacheco of Atascadero, CA; and friend, Tom Butler of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Costales was preceded in death by her husband, Higinio Costales, Jr. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Costales spent several years in Turkey. She worked for APS at Albuquerque High School and Highland High School. Couffer -- Freddie Ray Couffer, 68, beloved and devoted father, grandfather and brother, was called home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 3, 2000. Mr. Couffer was born on July 28, 1931 in Oklahoma to the late Albert and Omie Couffer; a resident of Albuquerque; he was a parishioner of St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church; and was a proud retired Veteran of the United States Airforce. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katie Couffer on January 21, 1999. He is survived by his loving children, Fred M. Couffer and wife, Martha, Robert Couffer, Billy Couffer and wife, Tina, Jeanette Torrez and Kathy Mueller; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Dink Couffer, Bill Couffer and Dale Couffer; and one sister, Lorene Fairsheets. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Visitations will be Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. till the time of Rosary, which will be recited at 7:00 p.m., also on Friday, in the chapel of Garcia Mortuary, located on 8th and Stover. Donaldson -- George Howard Donaldson III, 74, died Friday, June 30, 2000 in Spokane, WA. George was born on March 9, 1926, in Wenatchee WA to George Howard and Milbra Enslow Donaldson. He grew up in Wenatchee, became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1943. He obtained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1946 and then served in the U.S. Navy. In 1952 he went to work for Sandia National Laboratory and retired from there in 1991. He was a member of IEEE and held leadership roles in both CPMT and ECTC. His hobbies included hiking, slide photography and trout fishing. George is survived by his wife, Barbara; brother, Edward and wife, Viriginia; sister-in-law, Phyllis Allen and husband, Glenn; brother-in-law, Lloyd Stevens; cousins, Harriett Davies and husband, Dave, Dona Ahern and husband, Frank, Don Donaldson; children, David, Howard, and wife, Terrie, Brian, Les and wife, Sandra, Nancy and husband, Ernie, John and wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Linda, Ashly, Whitney, Clayton, Michael, Victoria, Lucas, Nicholas and Benjamin; many nieces and nephews and extended families through marriages whom he loved dearly. Flores -- Lt. Col. Manuel"Manny" Flores, Jr., USAF (Ret.), died Thursday, June 29, 2000, at Abilene Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. He married Betty J. King in Jackson, Mississippi, on September 11, 1943 and preceded him in death after 42 years of marriage. He is survived by aunts, Helen Newsom and Josie Duran; uncle, Morris Duran; godfather and cousin, L.E. Flores; cousins, Pauline Sanchez and Pita Apodaca; longtime friend and companion, Frances Galloway; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Flores, Sr. and Felonize Duran Flores. Flores was born in Las Vegas, NM, on November 20, 1923, and entered the US Air Force as a private in 1940, retiring in 1964 as lieutenant colonel. He completed his BBA at McMurry University in 1966; his MA at Hardin-Simmons University in 1968; and his Ph.D. at the University of Arkansas in 1973. He began his teaching career in the Air Force. Except for one year in private industry, Flores devoted himself to education after leaving the Air Force. While at McMurry, 1970-78, he was chairman of the Division of Business and Professor of Economics. He served as Professor of Economics and Management at Hardin-Simmons University, and was the first director of graduate studies at the HSU School of Business, retiring in 1990 after ten years association with the institution. He also had been a Professor of Economics at the University of Arkansas for two years. Flores was honored by two Abilene institutions, Hardin-Simmons University and McMurry College University, which dedicated yearbooks to him. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Abilene. He was a member of Abilene Rotary Club, past president of Southwest Rotary Club in Abilene, and Alpha Kai National Honor Society. Rosary will be recited Thursday, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE with Deacon Bob Lewis reciting. Graveside services will be held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Gros-Garcia -- Frances J. Gros-Garcia a resident of Bernalillo, passed away on July 5, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Garcia, son Michael Garcia, daughter Virginia Garcia, and granddaughter Christina Arellano. Jaramillo -- Mr. Celedonio (C.J.) F. Jaramillo, 42, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 4, 2000. Lancaster -- Alice Lancaster, 94, a resident of Rio Rancho for the past 27 years, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2000. Alice was born on April 21, 1906 the daughter of Thomas and Anna Orth Walker in Selah, Washington. She had worked for Nordstrom's Department Store before retiring. Alice was a member of Mountain View Rebekah Lodge #36, American Legion Auxiliary #118, Rio Rancho Thursday Club, Rio Rancho Ranchettes, Vista Grande Project Happiness, and the Rio Rancho Rockhounds. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart C. Lancaster in 1997, and one nephew, William Walker. Survivors include: Maureen Mitchell, Marianne Collins, Thomas Walker, Dick and Delos Circle, and many great nieces and nephews and friends. Lopez -- Thomas F. Lopez, 30, died unexpectedly, Monday, July 3, 2000. He is survived by his parents, Barbara Romero and husband, Lorenzo of Albuquerque; father, Ray F. Lundy -- Carmen Lundy, age 88, passed from this life into eternity on Sunday, July 2, 2000 at her residence in Truth or Consequences, NM. She is survived by sons, Larry Lundy and wife, Deanie of Edgewood, Dan Lundy and his companion, Ellen Gray of Truth or Consequences; sister, Rachel Price of Clayton; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl in 1977. Mrs. Lundy was born in Carlisle, Arkansas on January 26, 1912 and married Earl Lundy October 31, 1929 in Albuquerque. She was the daughter of Jess and Nannie Norman and was the oldest of five children, three of which have preceded her in death. Miera -- Lawrence Ray Martin Miera, 29, a resident of Albuquerque, was called to serve the Lord on July 3, 2000. He is survived by his father, Larry Miera and his mother, Yolanda Montalvo; and his brothers, Sergio Torrez, Andrew Miera, Juan Diego Miera; and sister, Victoria Miera; his grandmother, Jennie Miera; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose and Cecilia Montalvo; and his aunt, Mary Lou Tapia. Lawrence coached several basketball teams and led them to championships. Oms -- Ines Oms passed away on Thursday, June 29th at her home after a brief illness. She was born in Camaguey, Cuba on December 11, 1921 and lived in Albuquerque from January 18, 1966 until her death. Ines is survived by her husband, Juan Oms; her two children, Jorge Oms of Denver, CO and Jose Oms, wife, Beth, and their two children of Albuquerque. Ines was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and gentle friend to those blessed to have known her. Her unending faith, love and patience will keep her spirit alive in all those whose lives she touched. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 7th, at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Pino -- Jessica Pino, 24, daughter of Paul Pino and Diane Wells died in a motor vehicle accident, Sunday, July 2, about 7:00 p.m. along with one of her twin daughters, Janice Padilla, 7 years old. Janice's twin sister, Julie Padilla is recuperating at the University Children's Hospital in Albuquerque. There will be a Memorial service this Thursday, July 6, 10:00 a.m., at the Grace Outreach Church at 2900 Southern Boulevard in Rio Rancho. Her grandfather, Ray Wells, will conduct the service. There will also be a graveside service Saturday, July 8, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery in Carrizozo, NM.

Shanks -- Sheryl R. Shanks dies Sunday in Albuquerque at the age of 23. She is survived by her father, Robert Shanks; mother, Sharon Ross; husband, Steven Malouff; daughters, Mariah Malouff, Odila Malouff, and Ariana Lopez; brother, Robert Shanks; and sisters, Elizabeth Dominguez, Kim Gutierrez, and Sharon Ross. Funeral Services for Sheryl will be held on Friday at the Nuestra Senora de Refugio Church in Puerto de Luna, NM. The time of the Service is pending at this time. Burial will take place at the Puerto de Luna Cemetery. Arrangements by Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
