Gertrude B. Costales, 79, a resident of Albuquerque, died Friday, June 30, 2000. She is survived by her son, Ron Costales and wife, Cheryle of Albuquerque; granddaughters, Danielle Costales of Rio Rancho and Kathleen Kelly; great-grandson, Elijah Kelly; sisters, Lillie B. Chavez, all of Albuquerque and Tillie B. Pacheco of Atascadero, CA; and friend, Tom Butler of Pennsylvania. Mrs. Costales was preceded in death by her husband, Higinio Costales, Jr. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Mrs. Costales spent several years in Turkey. She worked for APS at Albuquerque High School and Highland High School. Memorial services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Jim Massey officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
