Obituary for Donaldson

George Howard Donaldson III, 74, died Friday, June 30, 2000 in Spokane, WA. George was born on March 9, 1926, in Wenatchee WA to George Howard and Milbra Enslow Donaldson. He grew up in Wenatchee, became an Eagle Scout and graduated from Wenatchee High School in 1943. He obtained a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1946 and then served in the U.S. Navy. In 1952 he went to work for Sandia National Laboratory and retired from there in 1991. He was a member of IEEE and held leadership roles in both CPMT and ECTC. His hobbies included hiking, slide photography and trout fishing. George is survived by his wife, Barbara; brother, Edward and wife, Viriginia; sister-in-law, Phyllis Allen and husband, Glenn; brother-in-law, Lloyd Stevens; cousins, Harriett Davies and husband, Dave, Dona Ahern and husband, Frank, Don Donaldson; children, David, Howard, and wife, Terrie, Brian, Les and wife, Sandra, Nancy and husband, Ernie, John and wife, Cathy; grandchildren, Linda, Ashly, Whitney, Clayton, Michael, Victoria, Lucas, Nicholas and Benjamin; many nieces and nephews and extended families through marriages whom he loved dearly. George was loved by his family and many friends and will be greatly missed by us all. Services will be held on Friday, July 7th at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 9315 Candelaria Rd. NE. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the George Donaldson Memorial at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
