Trujeque -- Paul Trujeque, 80, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2002. Paul was born March 3, 1922 in San Marcial, New Mexico. He had been a supervisor of maintenance for the Albuquerque Public Schools for over 22 years, before retiring. Paul had served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 13, and a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Paul is survived by his wife, Lydia of Albuquerque; four children, Jerry Trujeque and wife, Linda of Albuquerque, Simon Trujeque and wife, Patsy of Albuquerque, Larry Torrez of Albuquerque, and Carol Hill and husband, Chris of Edgewood, NM; four grandchildren, Robin, Renee, Dennis, and Jerald; and 15 great-grandchildren, also numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. A Visitation will be held today, Saturday, July 20, 2002 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln.,Rio Rancho, with a Rosary being recited by Eileen Flores at 5:00 p.m.. A second Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2002 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary. The Rosary will be recited by Gaby Nieto at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna RD. NW, Albuquerque. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 22, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Roberto Fenzel as the celebrant. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 22, 2002. Pallbearers will be Robin, Dennis, Jerald, Renee, Simon, and Staci. Williams -- Simon T. Williams, 67, passed away at his home Tuesday, June 25, 2002. Simon was born November 20, 1934 at Campwood, TX to William Jackson and Mary Francis Brown Williams. Simon attended Odessa High School, later he became an Iron worker in the Local 495 of Albuquerque and eventually became an independent contractor. Simons true love was horses. He trained and raced horses all his life. Simon met and married Katherine Jett and together had four children, Pamela, Simon Jr., Quincy, and John. Simon is one of ten children, Kenneth, Deceased, Bill, Darrell, Edwin Brown, Tommie Sue, Maybelle, Alan David, Willie Vee, and Cal. Simon retired in 1999 and moved to Jay, OK in 2000 where he and Katherine established a ranch. Funeral Services were held June 28, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Assembly of God Church, Jay, OK. Interment was held at Duffield Cemetery, Jay, OK under the direction of Turner Funeral Chapel, Jay, OK.

Zaccaria -- Cosmo D. Zaccaria, 90, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died on June 17, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Rose Zaccaria of the family home; daughter, Mary I. Iverson and husband, Robert of Albuquerque; son, Frank Michael Zaccaria Sr. and wife, Christine also of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Robert D. Cosmo is also survived by his sister, Victoria Bertelli and sister, Michelina Minelli both of Pulsano, Italy. He is preceded in death by his, two brothers, Sylvester and Vittorio Zaccaria; and two sisters, Antoinetta Epifani and Adoloratta DiMaggio. Cosmo was a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church for 40 years where he was also an usher. He migrated to the USA from Italy in 1929 at the age of 18 and in 1932 he married Rose Zaccaria. He opened a business in Rochester, NY ¯Acme Auto Repair.¯ Cosmo moved to Albuquerque in 1950. In 1953 he opened another business also named ¯Acme Auto Repair¯ and then retired in 1983. Mr. Zaccaria enjoyed classical, Italian and operatic music. He also enjoyed musical compositions done by his son, Frank Zaccaria Sr. and his grandson, Frank Zaccaria Jr. Mass of Catholic Burial will take place on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 811 Guaymas Pl. NE with Father Michael Cimino, Celebrant. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Ceetery. Pallbearers will be Frank Zaccaria Sr., Robert Iverson, Tony Zaccaria, Frank Zaccaria, Jr. Carl Alongi, Wally Iverson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Cosmo's great-grandson, Michael Anthony Archuleta. Juarez -- Benito Juarez Sr. 33, beloved and dedicated father, husband and brother lost his fight to cancer on Friday, April 12, 2002 at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Born in Namiquipa, Chihuahua on April 14, 1968 to Simon Juarez and Gudelia Acosta Juarez, he had recently been employed at La Fonda Restaurant as a Manager. Prior to that, he was employed as a Manager for Gardunos of Mexico for ten years. Benito is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Bolivar Juarez; and three sons, Benito Jr. 11, Luis Angel 7, and Carlos Juarez 2; other survivors include three brothers, Rogelio and Erasmo Juarez of Dona Ana and Refugio Juarez of Las Cruces; four sisters, Evila and Guadalupe Juarez of Albuquerque, Irma Lechuga of Denver, Colorado and Elizabeth Chacon of Clovis; many nephews and nieces also survive him. As was his wish to move to Las Cruces, NM to live, Benito was laid to rest on Tuesday, April 16, 2002 at the Masonic Cemetery in Las Cruces, NM. Serving as Casket Bearers were Rogelio, Erasmo and Refugio Juarez, Jose Luis and Victor Bolivar and Alfredo Rodriguez. Honorary Bearers were Rolando Chacon and Martin Lechuga. A Mass in his honor will be held at a later date in the Albuquerque area. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but live forever in eternity. John 3:16. We know that is where you are........

Maestas -- Simon Maestas, 74, passed away, Monday, March 25, 2002 at home after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Delfina; children, Terri Castille and husband, Leon; Bill Maestas and wife, Alice; Bobb Maestas, Paula Maestas, Patricia Bryant and husband, Steve; David Maestas and Catheryn Maestas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and several close friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his mother, Antonita; father, Pablo; and brother, Gilbert. Simon was born and raised in northern New Mexico. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and The Korean War. Simon received numerous medals including two Purple Hearts. He had a lifelong love of foreign cars and fast driving. Simon was a car mechanic for many years and serviced many celebrity owned vehicles including John Wayne and Sean Connery while residing in California. In his later years, his hobbies included gardening and raising his three turtles, 1, 2, and 3. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, March 27, 2002, 9:00 a.m., at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 11401 Indian School Rd. NE, with Father Tom Zotter, Celebrant. Interment will follow at 12:00 noon, at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Crossroads Hospice Care, Inc., P.O. Saiz -- Fernando Saiz, 89, a lifelong resident of Alameda, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2002 after a brief illness. Fernando was born August 17, 1912 the son of Jose and Beatrice Gurule Saiz in Alameda, New Mexico. He had been a cement finisher with the Jaynes Corporation before retiring. Fernando is survived by his wife Josefina, his children, Rosemary DeVargas and husband, Arthur, Carmen Gutierrez and husband, Benito, Isabel Rodarte, Veronica Lovato and husband, Frank, Julia Tafoya, and Vidal Mora; one sister, Merlinda Gurule; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. The Rosary will be recited on Thursday, March 21, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 22, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Rio Rancho. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carlo DeVargas, Frank Gutierrez, Andrew Gutierrez, Walter Rodarte, Robert Rodarte and Simon Saiz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Chris Johnston, Ken Chavez, and Delfino Arellano.
