Adams -- Edward Adams, a resident of Los Lunas, passed away at his home in Los Lunas on March 22, 2002. Ed was a member of the Belen Elks Lodge #2499 for seven years where he was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, bar manager and head chef. He was also a member of the Albuquerque Moose Lodge #1517 and a participant at the La Merced Moose Lodge #2550. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Adams in 2000. He is survived by his three sons, Cliff Roudabush and his wife, Sheryl of Albuquerque, Larry Roudabush and his wife, Wanda and Jim Roudabush and his wife, Patti all of Spanaway, WA. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren. The Belen Elks Lodge and La Merced Moose Lodge joined together to have a Memorial Service for Ed on Tuesday, March 26, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at the Belen Elks Lodge. Another Memorial Service will be held for Ed at the Albuquerque Moose Lodge #1517, 2121 Edith NE, on Thursday, March 28 at 10:30am. Romero Funeral Home will be assisting the family.

Allison -- Alice L. Allison, 76, died Monday, March 25, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Bruce Allison and Stephen Allison of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Shawn Allison, Jeff Allison and Kelley Chavez; sisters, Dot Claxton of Albuquerque, Margaret Bauer of Karney, MO and Peggy Jeffcoat of Federal Way, WA. Alice managed the ticket office for the UNM Athletic Dept. for 33 years. Services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2002, 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE with Rev. Andrew Husted officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to The National Kidney Association, 30 E. 33rd, New York, NY 10016.

Archibeque -- Eufrosine Archibeque was born in Algodones, NM on March 7, 1908 and passed away at Beverly Hospital in Montebello, CA on March 22, 2002 at the age of 94 years young. Her husband passed away several years ago. For many years Mr. and Mrs. Archibeque lived in Algodones, NM. Many friends and relations still live in the area. Mrs. Archibeque worked for Globe Laundry as a seamstress. She is survived by a daughter, Lupita Miera and husband, Tony Miera; and two grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Archibeque lived for 48 years in Monterey Park, CA. Visitation will be Tuesday March 26, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Moritz Funeral Home 913 West Whittier Blvd. Montebello, CA 90640. Rosary Vigil Service will be held on March 26, 2002 at Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal 820 N. Garfield, Montebello, CA. Arnold -- David Eugene Arnold, born May 28, 1948 in Enid, OK departed March 14, 2002 in Heidelberg, Germany at the age of 53. He is survived by loving wife of 27 years, Nancy Arnold; two beautiful children, Audrey and Loren (Crystal) Arnold and compassionate sister, Karyn Rivera. David honorably served in the US Army for over 18 years; he served in Vietnam for three tours. He was a highly decorated non-commissioned officer while serving in the US Army. David loved sports. He lettered 11 times throughout high school in Concord, CA where he was raised since 1957. David was a proud alternate for the United States Army Wrestling Team in the 1972 Munich, Germany Olympic Games. He was a walk-on for the Denver Broncos in 1974. David had a deep passion for the sport of racquetball. He proudly played for the United States All-Army Racquetball Team and was semipro. Memorial Services will be held at the Calvary Chapel at 4001 Osuna Rd. NE on March 28, 2002, 10:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Pueblo, CO at the Roselawn Cemetery, 1706 Roselawn Rd. with Graveside Services on March 29, 2002 at Roselawn Cemetery, 10:00 a.m.

Beck -- Lonnie"Lee" Beck, age 59, retired United States Air Force, passed away on March 20, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Irma of Albuquerque; his mother, Marthabelle; and stepfather, Jack Morris of Shawnee, OK; his daughter, Tammy Lee Beck of Pompano Beach, FL; stepdaughter, Monica Rodriquez (Paul); grandchildren, Jesse and Briana Martinez. He was a life member of the DAV Chapter 3, VFW, and American Legion. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at National Cemetery in Santa Fe.

Dushane -- Helen Glass DuShane, 85, resident of Albuquerque since 1952, passed away March 24, 2002 in the loving care of Presbyterian Hospice and family. Born April 20, 1916 to Julia and S.C. Glass in Raleigh, North Carolina. She taught 32 years in the Albuquerque Public School System. She was a longstanding member of Alpha Delta Kappa Honorary Sorority and was a faithful Steward of the Episcopal Church, teaching Sunday School and serving on the Alter Guild. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas DuShane. Helen is survived by daughter, Virginia S. Vasquez and her husband, Al Vasquez of Albuquerque; three grandchildren, Shelley Bergen and husband, Richard of Durango, CO, Jason Christopher McAdoo of Tucson, AZ, Amy Elizabeth Ellington and her husband, Kelly and her two children, Asley and Jacob Pino; son, Douglas Glass DuShane and his wife, Sian of San Antonio, TX and children, Megan and Joshua DuShane; sister, Ruth Bendel and husband, Bill Bendel of Charlotte, NC; niece Alice Craig and husband, Bill of Charlotte, NC; and nephew, Rob Goldsmith and wife, Dede Goldsmith of Abingdon, VA. Edgeington -- Creston Edgeington, 7, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2002. He is survived by his parents, Greg and Dawn Edgeington; brother, Ryan Platte; maternal grandparents, Gene and Erma Bunnell; paternal grandparents, Jim and Brenda Edgeington, all of Albuquerque; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a student at Comanche Elementary and a member of Duke City Aquatics. Memorial Services will be held, Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at 11:30 a.m., at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care Creston received over the past three years from the UNM Pediatric Oncology Group and the nurses of the UNMH, PSAC unit. Farnsworth -- David W. Farnsworth, age 79, passed quickly and unexpectedly early on Saturday, March 23, 2002. Dave is survived by his wife of 52 years, Marie Farnsworth. Dave and Marie shared an undying love throughout their time together, which will always be inspirational to family and friends. Children include; son, Gary and his wife, Susan, of Albuquerque; daughter Nancy and partner, Al King, of Boise, ID; son, Jim and wife, Laura, of Denver, CO. Dave was enchanted by his grandchildren, all of whom will miss their"Papa" greatly. They include; Matthew Farnsworth, of Boise, ID, Taliah and Colin Farnsworth, of Denver, CO, and Matthew and Benjamin Siegling, of Albuquerque. Dave was born in Chicago and spent his early life in Ohio, before settling in Albuquerque in 1946 after honorably serving with the US Army in Europe in WWII. Dave worked for more than 35 years with Ed Black's Chevrolet. Additionally, he spent 10 years with New Mexico Civil Air Patrol and was a 45-year member of Central United Methodist Church and served as an usher for much of that time. In retirement he volunteered in many community activities around his constant golf games and travels around the world. These included Meals on Wheels, N.A.R.F.E. and A.B.W.A. - who honored him with their prestigious"Good Guy" award. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 27, 2002 at Central United Methodist Church, 1615 Copper NE. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Dave's name to the charity of your choice. No words can do justice to the legacy that Dave leaves behind. He was known for engaging humor, energy, persistence, and the ability to fix anything - from stopped vehicles, to a neighbor's house, to the bicycle of every kid on the block. A man whose impact on others is beyond measure, he taught strong and enduring values through living example. Gallegos -- Frances V. Gallegos, 78, a former resident of Logan, NM and a current resident of Belen for the past 9 years, passed away peacefully from this life on March 25, 2002. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She goes home to join her parents, J. B. and Josephita Vigil; her brothers, J. Benito Jr. and Leo Vigil; and her sister, Margaret Alarid. Maestas -- Simon Maestas, 74, passed away, Monday, March 25, 2002 at home after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Delfina; children, Terri Castille and husband, Leon; Bill Maestas and wife, Alice; Bobb Maestas, Paula Maestas, Patricia Bryant and husband, Steve; David Maestas and Catheryn Maestas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven brothers; four sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and several close friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his mother, Antonita; father, Pablo; and brother, Gilbert. Simon was born and raised in northern New Mexico. He was a decorated veteran of World War II and The Korean War. Simon received numerous medals including two Purple Hearts. He had a lifelong love of foreign cars and fast driving. Simon was a car mechanic for many years and serviced many celebrity owned vehicles including John Wayne and Sean Connery while residing in California. In his later years, his hobbies included gardening and raising his three turtles, 1, 2, and 3. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Miller -- Colleen Ann Miller, age 76, resident of New Mexico for 25 years, passed away March 23, 2002. She was born August 12, 1925 in Perry, Oklahoma to the late Robert H. and Alta Eve (Carrier) McCormick. She is survived by three daughters, Candace Blashak, NM, Carol Miller-Tozaki, Kathleen Miller and her husband, Frank Jones, NM; three sons, Robert O. Miller and his wife, Anita, OR, William N. Miller, NM, Kevin J. Miller and his wife, Sue, FL; one sister, Margaret McCormick, OK; grandchildren, Ted Blashak, Zakk Zinn, Tommasina Miller, Crystal Miller, Kenji Tozaki, Keegan Tozaki, Kimi Tozaki; one great-grandchild, Samantha Blashak; one niece, Tamara Henderson. Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, William N. Miller, USAF Ret., in 1983 and her brother, Robert McCormick. She graduated from UNM with a B.U.S in English and Library Science. She loved to read and passed this love on to her children and grandchildren. She completed several novels, one of which is under consideration for publication. Colleen will be remembered as a loving, caring mother, sister and grandmother. The family wishes to thank the staff at Montebello, La Famila, and Sandia Hospice for their loving care. Montoya -- Sarah H. Montoya, age 92, a life long resident of New Mexico died Monday March 25, 2002 in a local nursing home following an illness. Mrs. Montoya is survived by four daughters, Veronica Padilla and husband, Tommy, Alma Montoya, Mary Lopez, Josephine Perea and husband, Leo; two sons, Gilbert J. Montoya and wife, Cecilia, Jesse Montoya and wife, Loy all of Albuquerque. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Sarah loved flowers and asked that after her funeral they be donated to Manzano Del Sol in appreciation for the fine and loving care she received. Mora -- Mr. Fred Mora died Tuesday, March 26, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 57. Mr. Mora retired from the Albuquerque Fire Department after 21 1/ 2 years of service. He also served as a paratrooper with 101 Airborne during the Vietnam War. Mr. Mora is preceded in death by his father, Rafael Mora; brothers, Billy Mora and Juan Mora; nephew, Louis Nogales Jr; and mother-in-law, Della Perea. He is survived by his wife, Connie Mora; son, Daniel Mora; daughter, Yvonne Ybarra and husband, Eduardo; beloved grandchildren, Daniel Mora Jr., Angelina Mora and Eduardo Ybarra II; mother, Teresita Mora; brother, Vincent J. Stevens -- Annie Mae Stevens, 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1939, died Sunday, March 24, 2002. She is survived by her husband, Dean Stevens; daughter, Margaret Ann Carrillo and husband, Joe, of Trinidad, CO; son, Benny Dean Stevens and wife, Ann, of Mesa, AZ; granddaughters, Keira Huckeby and husband, Michael, and Jill Mehrer and husband, Paul; three step-grandchildren, Larry and Greg Carrillo, and Peggy Fason; brother, Loyd Franklin and wife, Dorothy; and sister, Violet Hennington. Annie graduated from Amherst High School in Amherst, TX, in 1934. She was a chief operator for the telephone company in Muleshoe, TX, and employed by Galles Motors in Albuquerque. Annie was a lifelong member of The Church of Christ, an avid sports fan, and enjoyed tennis, bowling, baseball, the Lobos, and the Albuquerque Dukes. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be truly missed. Stroud -- Rufus Stanley Stroud, 89, left his earthly home to be with his Heavenly Father Monday, March 25, 2002. He is survived by two sisters, Lucille Cox and Johnnie Gardener; his son, Edwin and his wife, Gwen and their three children, Brett, Russell and Brooke. He was preceded in death by his parents, John H. & Myrtle Stroud; his brother, Jim, as well as his first wife Stella and their eldest son, Don. He was blessed with a second family with his marriage to Zillah Stroud in 1986 and is survived by a son, David Hill; a daughter, Nina and her husband Bill Grizzard; he inherited 8 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren who loved him dearly and enjoyed his superb wit and his many poems and stories. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda, from his second family. Born June 2, 1912, he often joked about being the same age as the State of New Mexico even though he was born in Robert Lee, Texas. After receiving his Masters Degree from NMSU, Rufus became foreman of the Los Poblanos Simms Ranch in Albuquerque for several years. Later hired by the Department of Agriculture, he spent time in Nigeria & Guatemala. Upon completing these tours, he became a Loan Officer for Farmers Home Administration until retirement in 1979. While living in Albuquerque from 1937 to 2000, Rufus was very active in the First Christian Church. He was a member of NARFE. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at First Christian Church, 10101 Montgomery NE, with Art Cordova and Bud Cavin officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE. Turano -- Angelo A. Turano, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, died Monday, March 25, 2002 after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Turano of Albuquerque; daughters, Judith Gregori of Philadelphia, PA, Joan Scriver and husband, Bill of Farmington, NM, Jani Perkins and husband, Kyle of Carbondale, IL, Jean Vondle and husband, David of Albuquerque and Juli Turano of Denver, CO; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janice Ryan; two sisters; and his parents. Mr. Turano developed the music program in the Farmington School System. In August 2001, the new Piedra Vista High School Auditorium in Farmington was named the Turano-Chrisman Performing Arts Theater in honor of Angelo Turano and Howard Chrisman. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2002, at 1:30 p.m., at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum Chapel, 7500 Paseo Del Norte NE. Vittitow -- Richard Meredith Vittitow, 63, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 24, 2002. He was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 16, 1938 to Bennet Vittitow and Elsie Frasure Vittitow who preceded him in death. The family came to New Mexico in 1948. Richard graduated from Highland High School in 1957 and attended UNM for three years, leaving to enter the bricklayers apprenticeship program. He began working at Bradbury Stamm Construction Co. in 1960, and started estimating in 1964, working with Bradbury Stamm over the next 38 years becoming a project manager, vice president and member of the Board of Directors, retiring in 1998. Following retirement, he worked for Shiver Construction and was employed by Star Construction at the time of his death. He organized the Roadrunner Chapter of the American Society of Professional Estimators and served in many positions including Rocky Mountain Governor and National First Vice President. He was a member of Hoffmantown Baptist Church. Richard is survived by his wife of 38 years, Linda; two sons; Daniel and wife Tonia of Houston, Texas and Darren and wife Kim of Blanchard, Oklahoma; three grandsons, Richard, Drake and Jacob Vittitow; sister, JoAnne Rolan-Nichols and family Jimmy, Kenny and Patti; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Richard succumbed after a lifelong battle with asthma and chronic lung disease. Best known for his dry wit, the art of negotiation and love of life, he was an award-winning gardener, who loved to fish and delighted in his family. He will be sorely missed by all. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at Hoffmantown Church, 8888 Harper NE, with Rev. Ken Moore officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
