Atencio -- Carmen M. Atencio, 75, went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2002. She was born on April 30, 1927 in Albuquerque, NM. Carmen is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Atencio, daughter, Rosalie Armenta and son-in-law, Herman Sedillo. She is survived by her sons, Charlie Atencio and wife, Louise, Edward Atencio and wife, Eva, Teddy Atencio, Ernest Atencio and wife, Joann; daughters, Josephine Lucero and husband, Ben, Lucy Sedillo and Shirley Hines and husband, Edward; sisters, Eloisa Russell, Lucy Martinez, Virginia Chavez, Julia Martinez and Betty Torrez; 27 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. Carmen will be deeply missed by her loving family. Visitations will held on Sunday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Eighth Street Chapel of Garcia Mortuary with a Rosary to be recited following at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will celebrated on Monday morning at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Lucero, Eddie Hines, C.J. Atencio, Jesus Armenta, Carlos Atencio and Prudy Reed. Bernadette -- Vergie Marie Kruse Bernadette, died July 18, 2002 of complications from stroke. Vergie was born October 13, 1927 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Myrtle Sanders Hedlund and Edward Hedlund. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Hugo Bernadette; and four children, Dottie Bernadette Kiernan of Brea, CA, Charles Bernadette, Tommy Bernadette, Kathy Ryan and husband, Jimmy and her precious Joy; granddaughter, Sara Bernadette, all of Albuquerque; and many nieces and nephews. Vergie had many very good friends but most especially Dottie Ginter, Cozy Johnson and Bea Decker. Vergie moved to Albuquerque with her mother and stepfather, Harvey Kruse, early in 1941 when they bought and operated the Country Club Motel. She attended Washington Jr. High and graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1945. People loved Vergie for her kind heart and giving nature. She had a special love for babies and worked for many years as a pediatric office nurse for Dr. Eleanor Adler. In addition, she found time to be a Cub Scout den mother, an officer in the Home School Association and later managed the office for the family business, Bernadette Plumbing & Heating, until her retirement in 1992. She was a devout Catholic and belonged to the Immaculate Conception Parish, and now to her Heavenly Home. The family would like to thank everyone for the tremendous outpouring of love and prayers for Vergie. It is a testament to the effect one truly good person can have. Viewing and visitation will be held Sunday, July 21, 2002 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary 1100 Coal Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2002 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church 619 Copper Ave NW. Interment will follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Stroke Association, a division of the American Heart Association. Chavez -- In Loving Memory of Mike Chavez September 7, 1953 - July 20, 1999 Son, it's been three years since you left us and went home. Daniel -- Adrian Wiley Daniel born September 19, 1923 in Bunger, TX passed away July 12, 2002 in Albuquerque, NM. He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Belle Yates; sons, Terry Clyde Daniel and his wife, Caroline of Tucson, AZ, Ted Cameron Daniel and his wife, Chris of Houston, TX, Michael Hoyt Daniel and his wife, Karen of Albuquerque and James Wiley Daniel and his wife, Coleen of Los Lunas, NM; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Adrian served in the US Coast Guard and US Merchant Marines during WWII. He married his wife, Cecelia on August 22, 1942. In 1961, he moved his family from Carlsbad to Albuquerque. He has served as a Cub Scout Master, Scout Master, and an Order of the Arrow Advisor, BSA. He coached Little League Baseball and Pony League Baseball. He is retired as the Administrator of the NM State Unemployment Compensation-Risk Management Division. He was a member of the Christian church 59 years where he has served as deacon, elder, CYF sponsor, church school teacher and church school principal. Adrian and Cecelia were charter members of Bethany Christian Church in El Paso, TX and a member of Monte Vista Christian Church for 26 years in Albuquerque. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and doing just about anything with his sons and grandchildren. He attended every possible ball game, marathon race, recital and science fair presentation that he could get to. He is the only grandpa pictured in the Onate Elementary School year book of 2002. Adrian was always there for his family. Being there might mean working two or three jobs during lean times, coming up with money, from somewhere, somehow, when it was needed. He was even there when he had to travel five days a week to be home on Friday night to attend a Boy Scout camp-out the next morning. A Memorial Service will be held at the Monte Vista Christian Church, 3501 Campus Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106 on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Christian Education and Parish Nursing Ministries at Monte Vista Christian Church. Gurule -- Mrs. Cecilia M. Gurule, 77, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on July 18, 2002 with her loving family by her side. Mrs. Gurule is survived by her three daughters, Mela Gurule, Yolanda Ruiz and Mary Alice Gurule and Michael Mora; seven sons, Ruben Gurule and wife, Sandra, Danny Gurule and wife, Lydia, Steve Gurule, Michael Gurule, Patrick Gurule, Peter Gurule and Clorinda, Richard Gurule and Loretta; one sister, Marcella Garcia; a daughter-in-law, Stella Gurule; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Gurule is preceded in death by her husband, Pete Gurule; three sons, Jose Luiz, Lupe and Gary; two grandsons, Jose Luiz Jr. and Jaime Cota. Linam -- Joe Linam Jr., 57, born January 9, 1945 passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2002. A lifelong resident of Albuquerque he served in the Navy during Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Lee Linam Sr.; his mother, Leonides T. Linam; two brothers, Harry E. Linam and John C. Linam; two sisters, Georgia M. Linam and Desiree R. Linam. Joe is survived by three sons, Joe Linam III, Victor Linam and Randolf Linam. He is also survived by sisters, Rosie Sanchez, Antonia Delgado, Henrietta Vigil, Betty Luevanos and husband, Gabino, Jeanette Sanchez and husband, Geranimo of Tampa, FL; brother, Marvin Linam and wife, Eileen; sister, Cathy Linam and husband, Julian Rueda of Amarillo, TX. Joe had many nieces and nephews. A Mass will be held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Scared Heart Church located on 412 Stover SW. Mansfield -- Francis R. Mansfield, 78, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died Thursday, July 18, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Grace W. Mansfield of Albuquerque; son, Robert B. Mansfield and wife, Corrine of Santa Fe; daughter, Susan Goodwin and husband, Michael of Rio Rancho; grandsons, Kim Mansfield and Thomas Goodwin; granddaughters, Elizabeth Mansfield, all of Albuquerque, Delfinia Medina, Kayla Roberta Francine Mansfield and Hilary Mansfield, all of Santa Fe; and a large extended family. Francis worked with the B.I.A. teaching at several area schools. She was a member of the American Legion and the VFW, and was an Elder of the Presbyterian Church. Services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m., at Fellowship Christian Reform Church, 4800 Indian School NE, with Pastor John Dykhuis officiating. Martin -- Sharon Lee Martin, 60, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996, died Friday, July 19, 2002. Oppenheimer -- Loretta Rose Oppenheimer, 96, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 17, 2002. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Edward; and her daughter, Ella Rose MacGibbon. She is survived by her daughters, Shirley Whitehead of Albuquerque, NM and Lora Lee Anderson of Port Lucil, Florida, eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by a brother, Marion Pennington; and a sister, Thelma Dudley. Loretta was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on May 25, 1906. She was active in Daughters of the Nile, Justamere Bridge Club, and a member of First Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by her family, whom she loved dearly. A family memorial service will be held. Arrangements have been made by Strong-Thorne Mortuary.

Pate -- Jack Quinn Pate, 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, died Monday, July 15, 2002. Perea -- Eugene Perea died on Thursday July 18, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 81. He was Born Oct 26, 1921. He was raised in Torrance and Lincoln County. He graduated from UNM in Albuq. He was good in basketball and track. He served in the U.S. Signal Corps. from July 1942 to Dec 1945 in the Continental U.S.and South Pacific Theatre, under the command of General Douglas McArthur. He served as a Technical Sargent in Communications Secret Service. He was proceded in death by his wife, Della O. Perea; and brothers, Ernest, Jose, Antonio and Julian Perea; sisters, Abrella Garza, Jessie Baca, Carmen Romero Lena Cordova; son-in-law, Fred Mora. He worked for the State of NM. Taxation and Revenue as well as purchasing. He was self employed in tax work and operated a ranching cattle operations which he loved and was very successful. He is survived by his son, Eugene Patrick Perea and Felicia Mora; daughters, Dolores Crollett and husband, Richard, and Connie Mora; brother, Nicholas S. Perea; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Perea will be held Monday at St. Charles Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Richard Perea, Gilbert Perea, J.J. Quevedo -- Manuel Quevedo, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1984, coming to New Mexico from Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2002. Manuel was born May 1, 1924 the son of Joe and Martha Garcia Quevedo in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. He served in the US Army, and was a decorated WW II Veteran of the Normandy invasion. After the war, he married his sweetheart, Ramona. In 1983 he retired from Swifts and Company after 37 years. That is when he and Ramona came to New Mexico. Manuel enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, and other sports and outdoor activities. He was an avid University of Nebraska Cornhusker football fan, and was active with the Little League Baseball. He also enjoyed working and making friends through his neighborhood lawn service. Manuel was a member of the American Legion, VFW, the Knights of Columbus, and was a member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. Manuel loved spending time with his grandchildren. His is preceded in death by one sister, Rachel Longoria. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ramona of Albuquerque; three daughters, Bernadette Quevedo-Mendoza of Denver, CO, Claudia Quevedo-Levesque of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and Stacy Quevedo of Albuquerque; four sons, Marco Quevedo of Denver, CO, Ennio Quevedo of Washington, DC, Phillip Quevedo of Denver, CO, and Tracy Quevedo of Albuquerque; four brothers, Frank Quevedo of Forest Falls, CA, Joe Quevedo of Scottsbluff, NE, and Lawrence Quevedo of Phoenix, AZ and Salvador Quevedo of Scottsbluff, NE; four sisters, Concha Rodrigues of Scottsbluff, NE, Josephine Quevedo of Denver, CO, Socorro Lopez of Scottsbluff, NE; seven grandchildren, Ryan, Olivia and Marcus Quevedo of Denver, CO, Vicente and Mario Quevedo of Albuquerque, Carlos Quevedo of Concord, CA, and Gabriela Quevedo-Levesque of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The Rosary was recited Friday evening, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 20, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church with The Rev. John Conway as the Celebrant. Interment will be in Vista Verde Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ryan Quevedo, Vicente Quevedo, Mario Quevedo, Ray Mendoza, Pascal Levesque and David Medina. Robinson -- Dorinda Gray Robinson, 40, died July 15, 2002 in Albuquerque, NM. A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 22, 2002 at the Carrie Tingley Hospital Board Room in Albuquerque. She was born on July 7, 1962 in Pampa, TX. She was a 1980 graduate of Pampa High School and graduated from Texas State Technical Institute in Amarillo. She married Thomas Robinson on September 10, 1988 in Albuquerque. She was a systems coordinator in the computer department at the University of New Mexico Hospital for the past 12 years. Survivors include her husband, Thomas Robinson of the home; parents, James and Joyce Gray of Pampa, TX; two sisters, Debra Gray of Richardson, TX and DeAnn Young of Columbus, Ohio; step-grandmother, Alice Gray of Claude; four nephews, Brandon and Keenan Young both of Columbus, OH, and Jake and Max Sorensen both of LaJara, CO; one niece, Kelsey Ann Sorensen of LaJara, CO. Seebach -- John P. Seebach, 59, of Clearwater, FL died July 17, 2002 at Largo Medical Center, Largo, FL. He was born in Montclair, NJ grew up in Verona, NJ and had been a Lieutenant (retired in 1991) in the Pinellas County Sheriffs Department. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. John served in the US Air Force 1961-1965. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Adjunct Instructor at St. Petersburg College and a Graduate of St. Leo College. Survivors include his wife, Bonnie J. Seebach, Clearwater, FL; son, John Gregory Seebach, Tampa, FL; daughter, Erin Flick of Borden, IN; brother, Mark Seebach of Sandia Park, NM; two sisters, Margaret Kebabjean of Dallas, TX and Alice Fader of Emerald Isles, NC; one grandson, Andrew Wilson; two step-grandchildren, Ashley Flick and Nathan Flick; and several aunts,uncles, nieces and nephews. Trujeque -- Paul Trujeque, 80, a lifetime resident of New Mexico, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2002. Paul was born March 3, 1922 in San Marcial, New Mexico. He had been a supervisor of maintenance for the Albuquerque Public Schools for over 22 years, before retiring. Paul had served in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 13, and a member of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Paul is survived by his wife, Lydia of Albuquerque; four children, Jerry Trujeque and wife, Linda of Albuquerque, Simon Trujeque and wife, Patsy of Albuquerque, Larry Torrez of Albuquerque, and Carol Hill and husband, Chris of Edgewood, NM; four grandchildren, Robin, Renee, Dennis, and Jerald; and 15 great-grandchildren, also numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. The Rosary will be recited by Gaby Nieto at 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna RD. NW, Albuquerque. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 22, 2002 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Fr. Roberto Fenzel as the celebrant. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, at 12:00 Noon on Monday, July 22, 2002. Pallbearers will be Robin, Dennis, Jerald, Renee, Simon, and Staci. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Pohl and Larry Torrez. Military Honors will be presented by the VFW Post 2951 of Santa Fe. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho, 892-9920.

Welch -- Vivian Dunsworth Welch passed away July 15, 2002, in Lancaster, California. Ms. Welch was born to Daniel Dunsworth and Sophie Sandoval Dunsworth and was raised in Albuquerque, where her family has lived for many generations. Ms. Welch was an accomplished artist and was retired from Civil Service in Albuquerque. Ms. Welch is survived by her daughter, Patricia Case; her son, Patrick Serna; and her daughter, Sandra Keller, all from California. Ms. Welch had seven grandchildren, Thomas Keller (deceased), John Case, II, Martin Serna, Terence Keller, Leslie Case, Marcia Case Kennedy, and Jerry Case; and six great-grandchildren, Micah Keller, Shelby Miro Keller, Josh Case, Sabrina Case, Zachary Case, and John Case III. Ms. Welch is survived by her sister, Kathrine Dunsworth Cain, Albuquerque; her nephew, James Dunsworth Sanchez, Florida, her nieces,Paulette Cain Fielder, Colorado City, CO., and Louise Sanchez, Albuquerque. Services will be held at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Albuquerque on August 31st.

White -- Clarence"Ed" White, 82, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died on Saturday, July 13, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Betty J. White of the family home; daughter, Ilene Jayne; son, Jim White and wife, Rita, all of Albuquerque; three granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters. Born in Burke, SD, Mr. White grew up in Junction City, KS and moved to Albuquerque originally in 1940. He worked 15 years with the U.S. Postal Service. Clarence was a member of the Optimist Club of Albuquerque since 1984, a former Scout Master with the Boys Scouts of America, and coached for American Legion baseball. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force with 30 years of service and was a Chief Master Sergeant. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2002, at 2:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Mike Jayne, officiating. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Optimist Club of Albuquerque, Youth Fund, P. O. Box 37227, 87176-7227, or to the Boy Scouts of America, Greater SW Council, 5841 Office Blvd. NE, 87109. Private disposition has taken place. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Williams -- Dennis L. Williams, 56, passed away on July 7, 2002 from complications of an illness. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Linda; his mother, June Schutzberger; daughters, Kristen Williams, Deanna Torres and husband, Craig; stepdaughters, DeeDee Jones and husband, Paul, Michele Garcia and husband, Hector; and three grandchildren. He was a construction superintendent both locally and out of state for over 20 years. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
