Wells -- Services for Frank Wells Jr. are at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, Palm Chapel, Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, with C.C. Smokey Gonzales, State Chaplain, Post 99, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Al Buttke, Allen Buttke, Ken Poyser, Allan Leach and Thurmond Leach serving as casket bearers. American Legion Post 49 will perform Military Honors. Mr. Wells will lie in state at the funeral home, Friday, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. .DMP

Wells -- Frank Wells Jr., age 76, passed away January 12, 1999. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving 28 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 99. He is survived by his wife, Augusta; two daughters, Joanne and Claudio Chirra and Lydia Wells; brother, Glen Wells of Albuquerque; sister, Glenna Faye Sherrill of Arkansas. He made his home the past 27 years with Imogene Poyser and her four children, Retha, Ken, Sue, Fred. He is also survived by her five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 1999 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE. Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 1999 in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary with C.C."Smoky" Gonzales State Chaplain Post 99 officiating. Al Buttke, Allen Buttke, Ken Poyser, Allan Leach and Thurmond Leach will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Houston -- Beverly June Houston, 62, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died Thursday, December 24, 1998. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, James G. Houston of the family home; sons, James M. Houston and fiancee, Kristin Gonzales of Albuquerque and Thomas P. Houston and wife, Suzette of Albuquerque; grandsons, Benjamin R. Houston, Matthew P. Houston, Taylor M. Adkins, and Tracy J. Adkins; brother-in-law, Michael Houston of Memphis, TN; uncle, Lyle Christensen and wife, Sharlene of Oceanside, CA; aunts, Myrtle Rath of Denison, IA, and Evelyn Hulsebus of Missouri Valley, IA; close cousins, Norman Christensen and wife, Karen of Denison, IA, Jocelyn Hulsebus of Kansas City, KS, and numerous other cousins and many, many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Francis and Violet Keating. Mrs. Houston was formerly of Omaha, NE and Denison, IA. She was a talented artist and designer and loved art and music. She was employed with Nebraska and New Mexico Blue Cross/Blue Shield for 30 years. Rosary will be recited Monday, December 28, 1998, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. NE. Services will be held Tuesday, December 29, 1998, 10:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, with Deacon Al McLane, officiating. Ortiz -- Mr. Nick P. Ortiz died on Friday at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Ortiz; two sons, Gerald Ortiz and Richard Ortiz; two daughters, Carmen and Cecilia; step-children, Alviria, Alfred and Viola; step-children in law Gertrude and Rudy; one sister, Mary Moore of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, numerous step-grandchildren, two of which he helped raise Donna and Roxanne and a very dear step-great-granddaughter, Adriana. Funeral services for Mr. Ortiz will be held on Monday at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church where the mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Fairview Memorial park. Pallbearers will be Al Tafoya III, Ernie Mascarenas Jr., Tim Gonzales, Ben Gonzales, Max Quintana and Sean Crespin. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Leyba, Rudy Crespin, Ralph Leyba, Richard Ortiz and Al Tafoya. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at 7:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 Third St. SW.

Mirabal -- Al Mirabal, 28, beloved husband, father, son and brother, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, September 27, 1998. Al is survived by his wife, Patricia; daughter, Alexandra; step-daughters, Victoria Dyer and Michelle Tyler; parents, Al and Kathe Mirabal; step-mother, Carolyn Strauss; sisters, Corine and Madie Mirabal and their partners, Stephanie Reinhardt and Laura Naranjo; Godparents, Mr. and Mrs. Nino Gonzales and Mr. and Mrs. Marcy Gurule; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. Al was a 1987 graduate of West Mesa High School and a student at the University of New Mexico. Al, we love you and will miss you dearly. A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 1998 at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Church, 5415 Fortuna N.W. Bustamante -- Angela Maria Bustamante (Portillo), age 21, of Albuquerque, formerly of Santa Fe, died on Monday, August 24, 1998. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Carmen and Miguel Bustamante; and her maternal grandmother, Sara Sweeney. Angela was born in Santa Fe on September 21, 1976 to Al Bustamante and Lisa Meek. She worked as a supervisor for a security company and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Parish. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Evie and Tanya Portillo of Albuquerque; her father, Alfred Bustamante and his wife, Nicki of Santa Fe; her mother, Lisa Meek and her husband, Jimmy of Edgewood; brothers, Christopher Meek and Alfredo E. Bustamante; sisters, Tammy Schneider and Keilani Meek; grandmother, Earla Martinez and her husband, Joe of Santa Fe; grandfather, Juan Gonzales and his wife, Cecilia of Albuquerque; grandmother, Mary M. Gonzales of Espanola; Godparents, Juan and Maria Bustamante; and aunt, Maria Ramirez and husband, Edwardo of Santa Fe; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives.
