Baklini -- Lynn M. Baklini died on July 27, 2003 at the age of 46 after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a native of New Mexico, a mother of three, and spent all but ten years of her life in Albuquerque. Lynn loved to swim, play tennis, and spend time with her children. She is survived by her husband, Bob; and her three children, Amy, Sean, and Susan.

Chavez -- Mikel Anthony Chavez, 42, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, passed away at home surrounded by his family on July 31, 2003. Mikel was a beloved son and brother, uncle and friend. He was a special person with a big heart and was loved by everyone. He will be greatly missed. Mikel is survived by his mother, Mary Helen Chavez of Albuquerque; one brother, Christopher Chavez and wife, Julie of Albuquerque; six sisters, Anna Trujillo and husband, Larry, Liz Ortega and husband, Carlos, Cathy Madrid and husband, Joe, Mary Lou Garcia and husband, John, Sylvia Chavez, and Pam Baca and husband, Leonard all of Albuquerque. He is also survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Alvaro P. Moraga and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Eliseo Chavez and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Solomon Chavez and Mr. and Mrs. Tony R. Baca. Mikel was a member of the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce and was most recently employed at Blondie's Hair Salon. He was also previously employed at Le Parque Salon, Classique Salon, Sara's on the Promenade and Enzo's Hair Salon. Memorial rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at St. Joseph on the Rio Grande Catholic Church with Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Sanchez, reciting. Memorial mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. also at the church with Father Frank Prieto, celebrant. Dewilde -- Evelyn H. DeWilde born in Milwaukee, WI on July 10, 1909 passed away July 25, 2003, Just having celebrated her 94th birthday. Evelyn lived her life young at heart always showing kindness, graciousness, and a keen sense of humor and an unpretentious love for Christ. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her sister, Mildred Krause; grandchildren, Marilyn and Darrin Gillham, Sandra and Mike DeVita, Cheryl and Dale Reinhold; great- grandchildren, Timothy and Katie Gillham, Megan and Adam Duda, and Chantal and Jeremy Reinhold. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar G. DeWilde Sr. in 2000; and their only son, Edgar G. DeWilde Jr., in 1996. Dralle -- Robert Burns Dralle, 82, a resident of Albuquerque for 30 years, died Thursday, July 31, 2003. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marjorie, of Albuquerque; daughter Nancy and husband, Merle Elson of Ridgecrest, CA; son Kevin and wife, Johanna Dralle of Corrales; grandchildren, Troy Finton of Cincinnati, OH, and Caitlin and Ryan Dralle of Corrales; sister, Peggy Irene Carlson of Bismarck, ND; brother-in-law, Wallace and wife, Eleanor Bailey of Leadville, CO and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and two brothers-in-law. Mr. Dralle was born to Marshall and Florence Dralle on November 24, 1920, in Brittin, North Dakota, He was a WWII veteran in the U.S. Army and a POW in Germany. His military career spanned 20 years, he retired as a Major at Ft. Bliss, Texas, in 1961. Bob Dralle spent many years in automobile, truck and RV sales in El Paso and Albuquerque. He was an avid fisherman and gardener. He traveled extensively with his wife, family and friends and will be missed by many dear friends, and his dog, Beau. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Gurule -- Mr. Frank N. Gurule passed away unexpectedly with his wife of 62 years. Frank was 81 years old and was born on April 2,1922. He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond; and daughter Victoria; father and mother, Nicholas T. and Guadalupe Gurule; sisters, Christine Baca and Delia Garcia; brothers, Patricio Lucero, Johnnie Gurule, Epifano Gurule and Luciano Gurule. He is survived by his wife, Rochelle Gurule; sisters, Rosemary and husband, Serafin Garcia, Daisy Romero, Dulcie and Raymond Silvas, and Annie Garcia all of Albuquerque, sister-in-law, Victoria Sandeval from California; brother-in-law, Eddie Garcia, many nieces, nephews cousins and friends who will miss him immensely. He was a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Church for 49 years. He was a Eucharist minister and usher. He served 4,750 hours of volunteer work for Veterans Hospital. He was a lifetime member of V.F.W., Purple Heart Club, American Legion Post 69, DAV Ch. 3 and retired from Sandia Labs, after 40 years. He was a veteran of W.W.II, a recipient of the Purple Heart on May 30, 2003, Honorable Discharge 12-15-45. He had fife battle stars, American Campaign medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign, Efficiency Honor Fidelity, Over Land Utah Omaha Gold Juno Sward 1944, award from the city of Antwerp Oct. 7, 1944- March 30, 1945. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass will be celebrated at the Queen of Heaven Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Albert Garcia, Raymond Silvas, Luis Marques, Serafin Garcia, Orlando Gomez, and Michael Nuanes. Rosary Service will be held Monday at 5:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary and Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Queen of Heaven Church. Gutierrez -- Ms. Andrea L. Gutierrez, 19, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on August 1, 2003 and is now one of God's Angels in Heaven. Andrea is the beloved daughter to Mrs. Rosie Gutierrez and is also survived by three sisters, Melissa Gutierrez, Consuelo Rascon and husband, Leroy, Antoinette Marquez and husband, Leon; a very special loved one, Ernest Gabaldon; grandparents, Rudy and Theresa Martinez and Ray E. Gutierrez Sr.; an uncle, Dusty Gutierrez and wife MaryLou; one niece, Desiree Ramirez and one nephew, DavidRey Marquez; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Andrea was preceded in death by her father, Epifanio Ray Gutierrez Jr. Andrea was a member of the Catholic Church and a student at Valley High School. Hensler -- Christopher Alan Hensler, 20, who was a resident of Albuquerque for 20 years, died suddenly as a result of an accident in Santa Rosa, CA, July 24, 2003. Chris is survived by his beloved parents, Tawn Head of Albuquerque and Arland Hensler of Pacifica, CA. Surviving grandparents include Eileen and Tom Head, Wathenia Thomas, Barbara and Jim Enoch, Sonja and Robert Hensler. Other survivors include numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was active throughout his childhood in the Tiger Cubs, Webelos and Boy Scouts and spent several years in Little League. As he grew, he became interested in music and was in performance guitar at Manzano High School where he graduated in 2001. Chris developed a fondness for the outdoors; he spent much of his free time in the mountains or at the ocean or beach. He wrote music and poems as a way to express his feelings of the world. He was an avid player of"Magic the Gathering" game and enjoyed playing video games with his friends. On July 31, 2003 at Cloudview City Park, Chris' closest friends held a beautiful Memorial in his name. Huston -- Stan Huston, 49, a resident of Edgewood, entered the presence of God, his Creator on July 30, 2003, after a two-year battle with leukemia. Beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Stan was a man of integrity and faith at home and in his profession. He approached all of life with a creative and inventive nature. Stan's dedication and passion for whatever task at hand - as a Rammed Earth contractor, or serving his church and community - was infectious, bettering all that had the privilege of knowing him. His sense of humor often caught those unfamiliar by pleasant surprise. While we mourn his absence, we celebrate his victory over death through faith in Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Cheryl Beaty Huston of Edgewood; children, Shiloh and Chandler of Moriarty; mother, Mary of Edgewood; sisters, Dodie Miller and husband, Larry of Capitan and Lucinda Williams and husband, David of Istanbul, Turkey. Klamerus -- Kathlyn Moore Klamerus, 74, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2003 at her home, following a long fight with cancer. She is survived by her three sons James M. Klamerus of Henderson, NV, Thomas M. Klamerus of Monterey, CA, and Eric W. Klamerus of Albuquerque, NM; one daughter-in-law, Bonnie Klamerus; and two grandchildren, Jamie E. Klamerus and Brooke Kathlyn Klamerus all of Henderson, NV; three brothers, William Moore, Robert Moore and Morris Moore. Kathlyn was born in East St. Louis, IL and lived in Illinois until moving to Albuquerque in 1960. After raising her three sons, she began working for the Albuquerque Public School system and retired in 1991. Since retirement, she has enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, August 2, 2003 at 10:00 am at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd NE, a celebration of her life will follow. In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Her family is grateful to all her friends who have provided much support prior to and during her illness. Lam -- Michael Lam, 55, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, July 30, 2003. He is survived by his wife, Leng Lam of Albuquerque; daughter, Janet Lam of Albuquerque; son, Justin Lam of Albuquerque; mother, Quynh Tu Luong of Albuquerque; brother, Ping Lin of Albuquerque; sisters, Chan Moyers of Albuquerque and Julie Mack of Las Vegas, NV; brother, Hoa C. Lam of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Oanh B. Lam of Albuquerque. Mr. Lam was a restaurant owner and operator. He was former owner of Dynasty Chinese Restaurant, and 98 Chinese Fast Food. He worked with the American soldiers during the Vietnam War fighting the Viet Cong. Moskowitz -- Ethel Moskowitz, 91, died July 31, 2003. Ethel was born in Hungary and emigrated to the U.S. in 1935. Her family will greatly miss her keen sense of humor and her infamous apple strudel. Ethel was predeceased by her husband, Frank Moskowitz; and survived by her four children, Trudy Solo, Carole Albert and husband, Harold of Albuquerque, Dennis Moskowitz and wife, Christine, Allan Moskowitz and wife, Cheryl, from the San Francisco Bay area. Ethel was also survived by her 11 grandchildren, and 15 great- grandchildren. Narvaiz -- Robert J. Narvaiz, age 55, a resident of Albuquerque since 1970, passed away July 30, 2003. Robert was born September 5, 1947 in Santa Fe, New Mexico to Robert and Betty Narvaiz. Olson -- Arline June Olson, 78, passed away on July 30, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine; two sons, Paul and wife Cory, and Mark and wife Loretta; four grandchildren, Briana, Chloe, Benjamin and Emily; by her surviving sisters, Jane Webb and Marilyn Heckel, of Florida; and brothers, Ralph Herzog and Rudy Herzog, of Wisconsin. She was preceded by a brother, Buddy, and her parents Henry and Mabel Herzog. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Arline was born July 2, 1925 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and received her Nursing diploma from the Women and Children's Hospital of Chicago. She moved to Albuquerque in July, 1953 where she first raised a family and later worked as a nurse at the New Mexico Girl s School for many years. In recent years she has been an active volunteer at several local charities, including Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and the Assistance League of Albuquerque, where she was chairman of Hospitality House and the Culinary Group at various times. She believed in good works and gave freely of her compassion, charity and welcome to all she met. Her generosity, her love, and her smile will be forever missed by those who knew her. A public visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Powell -- Milledge Ray Powell of Bosque Farms, N.M. passed away on July 31, 2003. Milledge was the son of Ruth Inez Sage and Milledge Powell. He was sibling to Richard Powell, Michael Powell and Joann Perkins; and was preceded in death by siblings,"Wizzy" William Powell and Boyce Baughman. He is survived by three children, Tammy Powell, Pamelove Archuletta and husband, David and Milledge Powell III; two grandchildren, Danielle Paige Shaulis and Kenneth Ashton Zuni. Born in Albuquerque on September 28, 1943 Milledge became a resident of Bosque Farms in 1972 and operated Powell Electric. Loving and generous, he was respected and loved by many and will be missed dearly. Servis -- John Dodge Servis, Colonel US Army (Ret.), a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died on Tuesday, July 29, 2003. He is survived by his beloved wife, Glynn Servis of Albuquerque; daughter, Ann Urist and husband, Steve; grandchildren, John Urist and wife, Kristin, and Kelly Grice and husband, Jimmy, all of Albuquerque. Colonel Servis was born on January 4, 1916 in Clearwater, FL to Ernest and Florence Servis. Colonel Servis was a 1939 graduate of the University of Florida and in 1941 received a Master's Degree in Chemistry also from the University of Florida. In 1951, he received a Master's Degree in Nuclear Physics from Ohio State University. His career included military education at the Chemical Corps School, the Infantry School, the Naval Postgraduate School, Command and General Staff College and the Army War College. )From 1952 to 1954, he served with Joint Task Force Seven and was stationed at the Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory (LASL) with the Health and Safety Division. In this assignment, he supervised radiological safety operations at the Nevada and Eniwetok Proving Grounds and was certified as a Health Physicist. In 1956, he was an Atomic CBR plans officer at SHAPE. From 1962 to 1964, Colonel Servis was the Deputy Commander at the Dugway Proving Ground in Utah. He served as a Test Director for Test Command, Defense Atomic Support Agency at Sandia Base before going to Vietnam in 1965. In Vietnam, he served as Chief, Plans and Operations Division, US Army Vietnam. After returning from Vietnam, he was the Commanding Officer of the US Army Materiel Command Field Office at Sandia Base. Military awards include Legion of Merit, the Army Commendation Ribbon with Two Oak Leaf Clusters and numerous other service medals and ribbons. Colonel Servis retired from the military in 1971 and made his home in Albuquerque. He worked for the City of Albuquerque as an environmental scientist and retired in 1981. He was a member of the East Chapel of Kirtland Air Force Base. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 2, 2003, 11:30 a.m., at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd., NE, with Pastor Rick Donaho officiating. Silva -- Maria"Cora" Silva, 61, passed away on July 30, 2003. She was born on May 16, 1942 in Albuquerque, NM. Mrs. Silva is preceded in death by her husband, Morris Silva and brother, Gilbert Tapia. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Silva and fiance, Joey Aragon; step-daughters, Charlotte Archuleta and Marie Bowman and husband, Jay; Godson, Derek Tapia; brothers, Martin Tapia, Albert Tapia and wife, Doreen, Michael Tapia and Vidal Tapia and wife, Joyce; sister, Lorraine Tapia and fiance, George Giron; sister-in-law, Cecilia Tapia; and many nieces, nephews and other family members. Walters -- Jerry Walters, born October 3, 1930, passed away early Tuesday morning at home with his family by his side after a courageous fight with cancer. Jerry owned and operated Jerry Walters Painting Co. in Albuquerque for 53 years. He was an extremely hardworking individual who took an enormous amount of pride in his work and respected his employees. At home, he was the quintescential family man who always put the needs of his family in front of his own. His warmth and generosity touched everyone who crossed his path. Jerry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Walters; his daughters, Diane Cook, Pamela Loveland and husband Tom, and Terri Walters; and his grandchildren Garrett and Kyle Cook, Brean Lackey, and Kaeleigh and Ryan Loveland. West -- Kenneth West, devoted husband and beloved father, passed away at home on Friday, July 25, 2003. He was a safety engineer for the Air Force for 26 years and worked at Kirtland AFB before his retirement in 1994. He was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Donna West; his three daughters, Kristi West, Lorna Willard, and Jodi Pierce; and five grandchildren, Katy and Micah Willard and West, Jessalyn, and Logan Pierce. He is also survived by his sister, Wanda Poulton; brother, Kale West and a family member of the heart, Donna Charles-Pinney. Witman -- Adam Witman, 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1956, died Friday, July 25, 2003. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Maria; sister, Mary Hertzog and her children, Maria and Jim; sister-in-law, Rita Clapper; brother-in-law, Donald Proctor; as well as many nieces and nephews. As a boy of eight years, Adam worked for a Quaker family for board and keep and attended school in Bernville, PA. Earning money for his first bicycle, he rode to his sister, Mary s home near Allentown, PA a distance of 90 miles. On December 29, 1941, Adam joined the US Army, served at Ft. Mead, MD, then transferred to New York where he married his wife, Maria. He was sent to North Africa, served in southern France, Naples, Italy and Germany. Adam served in a CCC camp in the Blue Mountains near Blair, PA. Another enlistment found Adam in the Korean War, as well as, the occupation of Japan. Sgt. Adam has been awarded several metals, decorations and awards for outstanding service to his country. A veteran of 14 years, Adam Witman, Jr. served his country well and with honor. After his discharge, Adam and Maria returned to Bethleham, PA his hometown. In 1956, they moved to Albuquerque where he worked for Prices Dairies and Burnes Guard. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 4, 11:00 a.m., at Albuquerque Regional Medical Center Chapel (formerly St. Joseph Hospital), 601 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. NE, with Father Chris O'Brien officiating.
