Obituary for Olson

Arline June Olson, 78, passed away on July 30, 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine; two sons, Paul and wife Cory, and Mark and wife Loretta; four grandchildren, Briana, Chloe, Benjamin and Emily; by her surviving sisters, Jane Webb and Marilyn Heckel, of Florida; and brothers, Ralph Herzog and Rudy Herzog, of Wisconsin. She was preceded by a brother, Buddy, and her parents Henry and Mabel Herzog. She was a longtime member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Arline was born July 2, 1925 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, and received her Nursing diploma from the Women and Children's Hospital of Chicago. She moved to Albuquerque in July, 1953 where she first raised a family and later worked as a nurse at the New Mexico Girl s School for many years. In recent years she has been an active volunteer at several local charities, including Keep Albuquerque Beautiful and the Assistance League of Albuquerque, where she was chairman of Hospitality House and the Culinary Group at various times. She believed in good works and gave freely of her compassion, charity and welcome to all she met. Her generosity, her love, and her smile will be forever missed by those who knew her. A public visitation will be held Sunday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Services will be held Monday, August 4th, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School Rd. NE, with Pastor Hal Nilsson officiating.
