Allred -- Edgar D. Allred, age 70, a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away Monday, April 1, 2002 after a long illness. He had been a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Allred of Albuquerque; two daughters, Alise Blankenship, Julie Allred; two sons, Michael Allred and his wife, Margaret of Rio Rancho, Steven Allred and his wife, Mary of Everett, Washington; two brothers, Frank Allred and his wife, Lorene of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Ted Allred and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque; three sisters, Rita Yoder and her husband, Dick of Phoenix, Arizona, Juanita Evans and her husband, Huber of Burlington, Iowa, Marcia Randall and her husband, Gene of Burlington, Iowa; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Edgar worked at ACF for ten years until 1967. He then worked for Lovelace Medical Center for 20 years, after which he worked for Presbyterian Hospital for nine years until he retired in 1997. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Edgar touched the lives of everyone he knew through his generosity, sense of humor and his loving personality. Arellano -- David E. Arellano, age 40, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend was welcomed into the arms of the Lord our Savior, Wednesday, April 3, 2002. David was a lifelong resident of Albuquerque; he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting; and especially listening to music, his favorite group being the Beatles. David was full of life but having an addiction stopped his life. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evangeline; and a brother, Anthony. He leaves his loving family, his father, Abedon Arellano; two sisters, Dolores and Annabelle; and one brother, Ray Arellano. Also surviving are two aunts, Ida Sais and Matilde Armijo; an uncle, Abencio Casaus; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends. David will be greatly missed by his loving family and by those who knew and loved him. Visitations will be today from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Rosary will be recited this evening at 7:00 p.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Cuba, NM. Interment will follow at the Cuba Catholic Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Anthony Padilla, Michael Padilla, Paul Padilla, Ray Arellano, Jr., Jonathan Garcia and Christopher Garcia. Baca -- Mr. Orlando Baca died Wednesday, April 3, 2002 in Albuquerque at the age of 64. Mr. Baca was a member of the DAV Chapter 3. He is survived by his ex-wife and best friend, Lupe Baca; daughter, Gloria Baca; son, Orlando Baca Jr. and wife, Diane; daughter, Tamara Poynter; son, Daniel Baca; grandchildren, Lilly Baca, Orlando Baca III and fiancée, Lucy Parra, Derek Poynter and Bettina Baca; great-grandchild, Santiago Williams; brother, Luis Campos; and sisters, Mela Gurule, Martha Zamora and husband, Joe, Lucille Martinez and husband, Modesto, and Kathy Olguin and husband, Ernest and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for Mr. Baca will be held on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church where the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Beitler -- Melvin R. Beitler, 89, born in St. Johns, KS on January 6, 1913 and a resident of Albuquerque since 1991, expired Tuesday, April 2, 2002. He is survived by his son, Rick Beitler; his daughter, Catherine Leming; five grandchildren, Byron Leming, Charissa Browne, Taralyn Amen, Becca Beitler and Brad Beitler; and three great-grandchildren, Gabriella Browne, Isabelle Browne and Luke Amen. Mr. Beitler was a Master Mason and a lifetime member of Byers Lodge #152 A.F. & A.M. He will be missed. We love you, Pop. Thanks for everything! Canham -- Grace A. Canham, 89, a resident of Albuquerque for 67 years, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Bachar and husband, Jim of Belen; sons, John F. Canham, Jr. and wife, Fran of Tijeras and Steve Canham and wife, Katherine of Lexington, KY; 11 grandchildren, Richard, Debbie, Steven, Jason, Christian, Kerri, Tracy, Stephanie, Matthew, Orrie and Haley; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Young and wife, Frances of Niles, IL and William Young and wife, Ann of Albuquerque; sister, Jane Hutton of Denton, TX; and sister-in-law, Herminia Canham of El Paso, TX. Mrs. Canham was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Canham, Sr. She was born in Chicago on the 20th day of November 1912 to parents, Miles Young and Grace Emaline. Mrs. Canham was joined in wedlock on February 16th, 1934. She was a homemaker and enjoyed dining out, movies, traveling as well as quality time with her many grandchildren. Mrs. Canham was a beautiful person who will be sorely missed. Services will be held Saturday, 1:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Carter -- Wilma (Willy) Jarchow Carter, 58, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2002. Willy was an extraordinary survivor of cancer which she fought with incredible courage and spirit for 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Glynn of Albuquerque; her father, Wilbur B. Jarchow of Weeki Watchi FL; her brother, Ken Jarchow of Raleigh NC; and sisters, Marla Edwards of Sri Lanka, Debra Thompson of Pendleton IN, and Sandra Stevanak of Golden CO. She met her husband while serving in the Peace Corps as a math teacher in Freetown, Sierra Leone in West Africa. They lived in The Azores, Bahrain, Dubai UAE, St. Lucia West Indies, London England, and La Paz, Bolivia. She was a much valued and loved employee of PNM for 16 years. Cremation has taken place and the Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. at the Carter home. An excellent option for donation is grocery store gift certificates made out to Presbyterian Hospital Kaseman Hospice Unit.

Crahan -- Alva M. Crahan, 94, passed away Monday, April 1, 2002. She is survived by her sons, Michael Crahan of San Francisco, CA and Richard Crahan of Roy, WA; grandchildren, Johnathan, Jeremy, Laura and Brendan; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Crahan was preceded in death by her husband, John V. Crahan on November 13, 2001. Crensaw -- Mary Carmignani Crenshaw, 82, died Thursday, March 28, 2002. Mrs. Crenshaw was born in Albuquerque, N.M. She graduated from Gallup High School in Gallup, N.M., as a valedictorian and received an academic scholarship to the University of New Mexico. She was a member of the Mortar Board and the Key Club honorary sororities. She graduated in 1941 and joined the Navy immediately after Pearl Harbor. As a Navy WAVE, she received training at Harvard University where she was one of the first female students at the previously all-male school. She became an air traffic controller at the Corpus Christi Naval Air Station and worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority in Chattanooga, TN. After World War II, she received her master's degree from Columbia University, where she met and married Joseph Crenshaw in 1950. They had lived in Tallahassee since 1960. Mary was an accomplished potter and stained glass artist. She was an analyst for the State of Florida Legislative Regulatory and Reform Committee in Tallahassee for 20 years. Most recently, she had attended the Senior Academy at Florida State University. She is survived by a son, William Donald Crenshaw of Tallahassee; a daughter, Helen Camille Crenshaw Holt of New Orleans; two brothers, Lawrence R. Carmignani of Artesia, Calif., and Robert Carmignani, D.D.S., of Albuquerque; and a sister, Josephine Carmignani Richards. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1995.

Davis -- Dixie Davis, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, coming from Alamogordo, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2002. Dixie was born October 7, 1913 the daughter of Manuel R. and Ursisina Sanchez in Aragon, New Mexico. Dixie and her late husband Robert, a WW II veteran, enjoyed traveling, their trips included a tour of England. Dixie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert R. Davis in 1977. She is survived by one brother, Joe B. Sanchez of California; and five sisters, Mary Erelewine of California, Rufina Sanchez of Los Lunas, NM, Lou Tavasci of California, Agnes Keith of California, and Sue Hopkins of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Fr. Michael Schamp officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will be on Monday, April 8, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Delgado -- A. Paul Delgado, 76, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lucille; two sons, Paul Delgado and his wife, Deborah and Tim Delgado and his wife, Denise; two daughters, Cynthia Bauer and her husband, Dennis and Marcia Delgado; grandchildren, Lisa Delgado, Kristy Torrez, Michelle Delgado, Erica Padilla, Sara Ramos, Kelly Bauer, Danielle Bauer, Laura Delgado, Michael Sisneros, Samantha Ramos, Andrew Delgado and Deanna Delgado; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Savannah Simpson and Dreanna Valencia. Mr. Delgado served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific Theatre. He received a Bachelor's and Masters Degree in Education from New Mexico Highlands University. Mr. Delgado touched many young lives during his 30-year tenure with the Albuquerque Public School System. His loving presence will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Ferrero -- Lisa E. Ferrero, age 88, passed away in Albuquerque, Sunday, March 31, 2002. She was a resident of Stockton, California for 49 years and has resided in Albuquerque since 1995. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ernest D. Ferrero. She is survived by her children, Ernie Ferrero and his wife, Ardyth of Redmond, Washington and Gloria Flynn and her husband, Roger of Albuquerque. She is also survived by her sister, Lorraine Butcher of Stockton, California; six, grandchildren - Susan Radford of Marysville, Washington, Todd Flynn of Menlo Park, California, Richard Self of Renton, Washington, Steven Greene of Redmond, Washington, Matt Flynn and his wife, Theresa of Raleigh, North Carolina and Lisa Diebler and her husband, Kendall of Reno, Nevada; seven 7 great-grandchildren and four nieces. Lisa retired in 1978 after 26 years as the secretary of an Elementary School in Stockton, California where she touched thousands of young lives. She was a caring, loving and affirmative person who was a role model in every aspect of her life. She was a cherished participant in the New Heart Cardiac Rehab Program here in Albuquerque. Fitzpatrick -- Arlene O. Fitzpatrick, went Home on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2002 in the presence of her loving family. The daughter of Jack and Lillie Dickman Fragale, she was born in Maxwell, New Mexico, March 11, 1921. Following the death of her father, Arlene's mother married George Pathos who became a father to Arlene and her sister, Edna. For many years Arlene was the catering director at UNM, and she was also a long-time and very active member of the Believers Center of Albuquerque. Arlene is survived by her son, Richard Fitzpatrick and his wife, Marge of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Richard and Robert Fitzpatrick of Providence, RI, and Raymond and Bennett Lindsey of Albuquerque; and one great-grandchild. Also surviving are her sister, Edna George of Albuquerque; her niece, Carol Brown and husband, Paul; her great-niece, Gay Dawn Faulkner and husband, Richard, and their children, all of Albuquerque, and by many dear and special friends. Garcia -- Agnes Garcia, 65, was born March 26, 1937 and passed away April 3, 2002. Kornowski -- Edward"Ed" Thomas Kornowski, age 66, passed away on March 26, 2002 at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles, California due to complications from a chemotherapy-stem cell transplant. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, he lived in the Philadelphia Area/Chester County for 60 years before moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1996. Ed received both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Aeronautical Engineering from Penn State University in 1957 and 1960 respectively. While working for Sandia Labs in Albuquerque in the late 1950's, Ed fell in love with New Mexico. He worked for the General Electric Company for fifteen years and then pursued a career with Esselte (Oxford) Pendaflex for 23 years before retiring in 1995. A man of many hats, Ed Kornowski was an authority and collector of early American folk art and antiques as well as an avid Dixieland Jazz enthusiast and tuba player in the Red Lion Jazz Band in Delaware in the 1980's. In recent years he collected contemporary art and accompanied by his loving wife, Audrey, made weekly trips to Santa Fe Art Gallery openings. A lover of nature, Ed made frequent hikes in the Sandia and Jemez Mountains in New Mexico. He also enjoyed gardening and landscaping and contributed his talents to the Church of the Good Shepherd in Albuquerque by designing and planting the outdoor flower gardens. A dynamic and generous man, he was affectionately known as "Ed the Boss" by his Pennsylvania friends for his enthusiasm in organizing community events and parties. The"Oktoberfest","Alabama Jubilee" and 1920's Theme Events live on in our hearts and memories. Beloved husband, father and friend to many, Ed is survived by his wife, Audrey, son, Lee and daughter, Anne. Memorial Service will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd 7834 Tennyson Street, NE, Albuquerque on April 7th, 2002 at 12:00 noon (daylight savings time). Ed was a patron of the arts and supporter of the Albuquerque Museum Foundation. Macdougall -- Mazie MacDougall, 76, one of God's beloved saints, left this earth to worship in His presence on March 20, 2002. Massimo -- Richard Joseph Massimo, 66, a resident of Albuquerque for the past 40 years, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2002. Richard was born June 14, 1935 in Slickville, PA He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Rosemary A. Massimo; and four children, Ramona C. and Lamarr Simmons, Richard L. and Lisa Massimo, G. Raymond Massimo and fiancé, Theresa, and Rhonda J. and Chris Haycox; his sister, Theresa M. and Wayne Bush, both of Latrobe, PA; his sister-in-law, Patricia E. Gonzales; and brother-in-law, Steve D. and Debbie Stephens. Nine grandchildren, Anita M. Pohl, Joshua, Jessie and Clarice Massimo, Tristen Protzman, Jacqueline, Alicia and Jolene Sun, Andrea Haycox; and one great-grandchild, Ashley Nicole Pohl; two nieces; and four nephews; cousins; family and friends. Richard was a veteran having served eight years in the Air Force. After returning to civilian life he worked for AT&T where he retired 1989. A talented hobbyiest, woodworker, engraver, artist, sculptor and painter, Richard spent many hours reproducing the beautiful southwestern scenery he loved so dearly. Myers -- Donald Myers (May 15, 1932 - April 2, 2002) is in the Lord's hands as he said in his own words shortly before he left to join his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and other loved ones who preceded him in death. He was a strong Christian example with a kind heart. He faithfully attended Eastern Hills Baptist Church and Manzano Baptist Church. He served his country in the Army during the 1950's. He will be greatly missed until the day his family is reunited with him in heaven. Naffziger -- Leon L. Naffziger, 65, a resident of Rio Rancho, died on Wednesday, April 3, 2002 after complications due to liver disease. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Sue Defnet of the family home; two children, Mark Naffziger and wife, Martha of Zion, IL. and Angela Kae Green and husband, Tom of Florham Park, NJ; two stepchildren, Robert Defnet and partner, Roger Vella of Australia and Thomas Defnet and wife, Kris of Denver, CO. He is also survived by four grandchildren; and two sisters, Rachel Jessen of Louisville, TN and Della McGarrahan of Maryville, TN. Leon was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley; and one sister, Dolores Woodworth. Leon was born in Zion, IL. He was the third child in a family of four. He attended N. Illinois State University at DeKalb, IL where he received his degree. Leon was married to his first wife, Shirley for 28 years, when she died of cancer. He married Sue Defnet in 1989. Leon was a member of the National Buick Association and owned his 19th Buick. He was a very proud representative of the Geiger Brothers of Lewiston, Maine, a business he and his wife, Susan enjoyed working together. Leon loved his family, ice cream, selling everything and telling funny stories. He was a man of vast knowledge who enjoyed sharing. Leon always left an appointment with the salutation of Peace. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE, at 3:00 p.m. with pastor, Carl Soderberg officiating. Payne -- Dorothy R."Tillie" Payne, 68, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Thursday, April 4, 2002 following a brief, courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Orville"Teenie," Payne ; daughters, Vicki Martinez and husband, Jeff, of Espanola, Christy Bridges and husband, Rocky, of Farmington and Bridget Payne of Los Lunas; sons, Richard Payne and Gene Montoya and Timothy"Tim" Payne and wife, Michelle, all of Albuquerque; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Moreland and husband, Wendell, of Romney WV and Virginia Mae Minshell, and husband, Bernard, of Keyser, WV; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Tillie was born Thursday, November 2, 1933 to George W. and Thelma L. Davis in Romney, WV. She married"Teenie" Payne on December 26, 1953 and spent the next 21 years as a career military wife and homemaker raising their five children. Tillie and Teenie retired in 1973 to Albuquerque having traveled across the country many times and to France for a two-year tour of duty. She was an avid San Francisco 49ers and Miami Dolphins fan. She also loved to read her books and play cards with her family. Price -- Luisita"Nelia" Price was born January 26, 1946 in the Philippines. Died March 31, 2002 at home in the loving arms of her only daughter and her husband following a courageous battle with cancer. Robinson -- William (Bill) L. Robinson, 69, died Tuesday, April 2, 2002, following an extended illness. Bill is survived by his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Robinson; children, Dale Robinson and wife, Dana, of St. Louis, MO, Rhonda Wineland and husband, Adrian, and Michael Robinson, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Keith and Bryce Robinson and Rebekah and Stephen Wineland; brother, Paul Robinson and sister, Martha Smith and husband, George. In 1970, the Robinson family moved to Albuquerque where Bill began working as a campus minister at the Christian Student Center, serving the University of New Mexico. He retired from campus ministry in 1995 and worked five years as a licensed Christian counselor at Mountainside Church of Christ. Bill served as an elder for 35 years in both University and Mountainside Churches of Christ in Albuquerque. He also served on the Board of Directors for the Albuquerque Christian Children's Home, the Christian Student Center and Sandia Youth Camp. He will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, granddad, brother, teacher, counselor, mentor, elder and friend. His love for people was exceeded only by his love for God. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 6, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at Mountainside Church of Christ, 12300 Indian School Rd., located on the corner of Indian School and Chelwood Park. Watts -- Marvin Corliss Watts, Sr., 61, a native of Mountainair, NM and a longtime resident of Yoder, WY died suddenly in the late evening of April 1, 2002, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, NE. A Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 3, 2002 at the River of Life Church in Torrington, WY, with Pastor Jerry Hackett officiating. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2002 at Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM with Pastors Jerry Hackett and Nathan Locke officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountainair Cemetery. Marvin was born to O.T. (Bud) and Virginia M. Watts on August 17, 1940 in Mountainair, NM. Marvin spent his younger years in Old Mexico and New Mexico. He graduated from Mountainair High School in 1959. On June 26, 1959 he married Peggy Jones of Mountainair, NM. Together with their children they resided in Kansas City, MO, St Francis, KS eventually settling in Yoder, WY. Recently Marvin and wife Peggy had traveled back to Mountainair, NM with plans of wintering in the warmer climate. He retired from Consolidated Freightway after 26 years of service. Marvin was an active Board Member of the River of Life Church in Torrington, WY. He also participated in the Fort Laramie Rifleman's Club. Marvin was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed sharing the great outdoors with his family. He is survived by his wife, Peggy, of Yoder, WY; sons, Marvin Watts Jr. of Denver, CO, James Watts and wife, LaDawn of Harrisburg, NE, James Kanniard of Yoder, WY, Duane Watts and wife, Sandra of Estancia, NM and daughter, Lenna and husband, Donald Booth of Scottsbluff, NE; brothers, and sisters-in-law, Gary and Diane Watts and Orville and Doreen Watts all of Mountainair, NM; one uncle, Jimmy Corliss and his wife, Dorothy of Mountainair, NM; 13 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Virginia Watts and his grandparents, A.O. (Jack) and Lenna Corliss and I.G. and Lillie McKinley.
