Davis -- Dixie Davis, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1989, coming from Alamogordo, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2002. Dixie was born October 7, 1913 the daughter of Manuel R. and Ursisina Sanchez in Aragon, New Mexico. Dixie and her late husband Robert, a WW II veteran, enjoyed traveling, their trips included a tour of England. Dixie was preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert R. Davis in 1977. She is survived by one brother, Joe B. Sanchez of California; and five sisters, Mary Erelewine of California, Rufina Sanchez of Los Lunas, NM, Lou Tavasci of California, Agnes Keith of California, and Sue Hopkins of Albuquerque, NM; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho, with Fr. Michael Schamp officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will be on Monday, April 8, 2002 at 12:00 p.m. at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a Childrens' Charitable Organization of one's choice. Arrangements by Vista Verde Mortuary, Rio Rancho, 892-9920.
