Obituary for Allred

Edgar D. Allred, age 70, a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away Monday, April 1, 2002 after a long illness. He had been a resident of Albuquerque for 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Allred of Albuquerque; two daughters, Alise Blankenship, Julie Allred; two sons, Michael Allred and his wife, Margaret of Rio Rancho, Steven Allred and his wife, Mary of Everett, Washington; two brothers, Frank Allred and his wife, Lorene of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Ted Allred and his wife, Linda of Albuquerque; three sisters, Rita Yoder and her husband, Dick of Phoenix, Arizona, Juanita Evans and her husband, Huber of Burlington, Iowa, Marcia Randall and her husband, Gene of Burlington, Iowa; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Edgar worked at ACF for ten years until 1967. He then worked for Lovelace Medical Center for 20 years, after which he worked for Presbyterian Hospital for nine years until he retired in 1997. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Edgar touched the lives of everyone he knew through his generosity, sense of humor and his loving personality. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to National Kidney Foundation, 5736 Osuna Rd. Visitation will be Thursday, April 4, 2002 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. N.E. Funeral services will be held in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 1100 Indian School N.E. Friday, April 5, 2002 at 2:00 P.M.
