Obituary for Carter

Wilma (Willy) Jarchow Carter, 58, a resident of Albuquerque since 1986, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2002. Willy was an extraordinary survivor of cancer which she fought with incredible courage and spirit for 30 years. She is survived by her husband, Glynn of Albuquerque; her father, Wilbur B. Jarchow of Weeki Watchi FL; her brother, Ken Jarchow of Raleigh NC; and sisters, Marla Edwards of Sri Lanka, Debra Thompson of Pendleton IN, and Sandra Stevanak of Golden CO. She met her husband while serving in the Peace Corps as a math teacher in Freetown, Sierra Leone in West Africa. They lived in The Azores, Bahrain, Dubai UAE, St. Lucia West Indies, London England, and La Paz, Bolivia. She was a much valued and loved employee of PNM for 16 years. Cremation has taken place and the Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 3:30 p.m. at the Carter home. An excellent option for donation is grocery store gift certificates made out to Presbyterian Hospital Kaseman Hospice Unit.
