Acosta -- Librada Acosta, 68, and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away December 2, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guillermo Acosta, father, Martin Rivas, mother, Margarita Vasquez, brother, Epifanio V. Rivas, sisters, Eva R. Durazo, Juanita R. Benivedez, and grandson, Bryan D. Garcia. Mrs. Acosta, our beloved mother of 48 years is survived by her daughter, Barbara Marcotte and husband, Stan, sons, Javier Acosta and wife, Gloria, and Leonard Acosta and wife, Alice; brother, Donaciano V. Rivas; sisters, Marcclina R. Costales, Lele (Lupe) Arrey; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends who loved and will miss her. Librada was a member of Aposento/Alto Praise Chapel, 2501 Alamogordo NW, Albuquerque, NM where services will be held. Evening service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 6, 1999 and Burial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 1999. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Baca -- Florindo L. Baca, 65, a resident of Socorro, passed away on Friday, December 3, 1999. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, National Association of Letter Carriers, Foster Grandfathers, and Los Hermanos. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernardino and Fernando Baca. Florindo is survived by his loving wife, Estella of the family home in Socorro; his children, Dennis Ray Baca and his wife, Tommy; Lee Alan Baca and his wife, Cindy; daughter, Lorry Ann Zaman and her husband, Jon; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; brothers, Ventura Baca and Teroso Tellez. Florindo is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Gary Martinez, Bernie Baca, John Martinez, Emilio Mora Jr., Robert Mora, Tim Baca. A Viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the San Juan Catholic Church in Veguita. Carpenter -- William R. Carpenter, Jr., 70, a resident of Albuquerque for 40 years, died Saturday, December 4, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cathy Carpenter; son, Dennis Carpenter and wife, Carol; grandson, Chad Carpenter and wife, Lindsey; granddaughters, Amber Carpenter and Ashley Carpenter; great-granddaughter, Amanda Carpenter; step-granddaughter, Madline Livermore; step-grandsons, Gannon Livermore and Cameron Livermore all of Albuquerque; sisters, Violet Swords of Akron, OH, Ardeane Milligan and husband, Bill, Laverne Fielitz and husband, Dick and Martha Lee Merten and husband, Bob all of California. Mr. Carpenter retired from the Air Force, fighting in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He managed the Kirtland AFB Officers Club from 1970-1977. In 1977, he became self employed and currently owns Swel's Family Restaurant and Coors Cafe. He was a member of St. Charles Borremeo Parish. He loved people and had a love for life. Rosary will be recited Tuesday, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming, NE. Chavez -- Margaret Santana Chavez, 78, placed her life in God's hands and was called to His side on Friday, December 3, 1999. Margaret was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Throughout her life, Margaret gave generously of her calming spirit, dynamic energy and joy for life to everyone she met. A devoted member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, Margaret is survived by her husband, J. Edward Chavez with whom she shared 50 years of marriage, and their children, Lillian Abeyta, Laurie Lujan and her husband, Phillip Lujan, Bobbi Montoya of Easton, Pennsylvania, Carla Chavez, Margie Cordova and her husband Robert Cordova, and Dr. Jose Edward Chavez, of Big Spring, Texas. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard M. Chavez. Margaret has 19 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren. Margaret is also survived by her brothers, Adan Santana and his wife, Merlinda Santana of Nampa, Idaho, Rudolfo Santana Tovar and his wife, Sara Garcia de Santana of Mazatlan, Mexico, Camillo Ochoa and his wife, Sandra Ochoa, and by her sister, Dora Sandoval of Alamosa, Colorado, and countless nieces, nephews, and friends. We were all blessed with the time she shared with us and we will all miss her. A Rosary will be held on Monday, December 6, 1999 at 7:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Cornelison -- CALLIE L. CORNELISONCallie was born in Blanchard, OK, December 28, 1907, and died on November 26, 1999, in Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph B.; and son, Joe Carroll; also six sisters; and one brother. Survivors include daughter, Shirley (Frank) Alfano of Tucson; son, Wallace of Seoul, Korea; grandson, Zane (Donna) Heard of Rio Rancho; granddaughter, Leslie (Mark) McCullough of Albuquerque; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Callie was a longtime resident of Albuquerque and a devoted member of the Church of Christ at Netherwood Park and Mountainside Congregations. Callie is fondly remembered by many for her sense of humor and ever-present positive outlook on life. She will be greatly missed. Gallegos -- Mr. Ambrosio Gallegos, 93, a resident of Albuquerque passed away on December 2, 1999. Mr. Gallegos is survived by his son, Frank Gallegos and wife Nora; two daughters, Elaine Norman and Dorothy Miller; thirteen grandchildren, Frankie and Billy Gallegos, Gordor Cougle, Marion Garcia, Sherry Sierra, Gayle, Marvin and Joe Cates, Donna Meskimen, Debbie Fife, Jerialdean Coffman, Mark and Milton Miller; thirty great-grandchildren and fifteen great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Gallegos was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie and his son, Robert. Mr. Gallegos was born and raised in the Los Griegos area where he raised his own family. He was a member of the Catholic Church and an avid farmer. He took great pride in the chili he grew along with the many other fruits of the garden. A Visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 1860 Griego Rd., NW from 2:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 3:00 p.m. by Gabriela Nieto. Final Visitation will be Monday morning in the Church from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Matlack -- Dorothy A Matlack, age 91, passed away December 4, 1999 in Presbyterian Hospital of natural causes. She retired from Sandia Corporation after 18 years of service. She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Sherry Holt and grandchildren, Tara and Drew Collard of Salt Lake City, Utah and her grandson, Stephen Oldfield of Hayward, California, her cousins, Joe and Betty Kiernan of Titusville, New Jersey and her canine companion of many years, Daisy whom she loved very much. Nelson -- Rogaciana"Rose" M. Nelson, age 90, passed away December 3, 1999 at the Assisted Living in Santa Rosa following an illness. Rose was born May 15, 1999 in Pintada, New Mexico to the home of Jose Alcario and Faustina Garcia Martinez. She was reared and attended schools in Pintada, Vaughn and Santa Rosa. Rose and her husband, Claudio were longtime cattle ranchers in the Pintada area. She was a member of the Holy Family Church in Pintada and the St. Rose of Lima Parish in Santa Rosa. Rose is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Claudio Nelson, an infant sister Rogaciana Martinez, and a sister Sabinta M. Gonzales. Survivors include her son, Oliver Nelson of Anton Chico, a grandson, Ricky Nelson of of Vaughn, 2 sisters, Frances Campos of Santa Rosa, Amelia Wallace of Albuquerque, 5 brothers, Jose L. Martinez and Rudy Martinez of Pintada, Jose Alcario Martinez and wife Stella, Napoleon Martinez and wife, Tillie all of Santa Rosa and Faustin Martinez and wife, Thelma of Albuquerque. Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary Services will be held on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. from St. Rosa of Lima Church in Santa Rosa with Deacon Arsenio Sanchez leading in prayer. Pittisi -- Lily Pittisi, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1961, died Wednesday, December 1, 1999. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Pittisi and Marie Fletcher; granddaughters, Cassandra Fletcher and Christina Fletcher, all of Albuquerque; and sisters, Mary Skeps of Buffalo, NY and Lu Alexander of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Pittisi and brother-in-law, Carl Skeps. Mrs. Pittisi was a member of the Golden Agers at Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Church. Purley -- Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Dorothy R. Purley, left us to be with the Great Spirit on Thursday, December 2nd. She was loved by many people throughout the world. Dorothy was a well known environmental activist and pledged her life to protect our Earth Mother. She battled cancer for eight years and will continue to fight in spirit. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Carletta, and son, Myron Garcia, grandsons, Zachary and Spencer Garcia. She is also survived by her sister, Ms. Virginia Romero and her adopted children, Roland Curtis, Paul Whiteagle, David Wilson, Linda Pershall, granddaughter, Alaina Pershall, nephews, Alfred, Willard, Kenneth and Richard Romero. Mrs. Rael was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Rael, in 1988; her brother, Augustine Sedillo, in 1964; and her brother, Max Sedillo, in 1992. Mrs. Rael was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church. She belonged to People Eucharistic League, Sacred Heart League, and the Legion of Mary. Visitation will be Sunday afternoon in the St. Anne Church, from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. by Phil and Alice Chavez. Final visitation will be Monday morning, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. by Father John Shedlock. Interment will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Pat Sedillo, Raymond Sedillo, Freddie Salas, Leddie Sedillo, Robert Grahm and Tom Bolz. Ramirez -- Ignacita"Ina" Ramirez, our beloved mother and grandmother went home to meet our Lord Jesus Christ on December 2, 1999. Rippberger -- Ruth M. Rippberger, 82, passed away on December 3, 1999 after a protracted illness. She was born in Wichita Falls, TX and lived in many places in the USA, Canada, Europe and Africa before becoming a permanent resident of Albuquerque in 1980. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, C.C. Rippberger; five children, C.M. Rippberger, MD, of Sharon, MA, Victoria Johnston of La Paz, Bolivia, Ada Rippberger of Albuquerque, Dee Hallock of Corvallis, MT, Maurine Hulslander of Everett, MA; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She graduated from the Gordon Keller School of Nursing, Tampa, FL in 1940 and served a short term in the Army Nurse Corps, which ended with her marriage in 1941. She was a Past Worthy Matron in the OES, and was an active member of the Mended Hearts Association. Sanchez -- Josie Sanchez, 89, a lifetime resident of Corrales passed away on Thursday, December 2, 1999. Josie was born June 24, 1910 the daughter of Constancio and Juanita Garcia Candelaria in Corrales, New Mexico. Josie had been a volunteer with the St. Felix Pantry. She was a member of the San Ysidro Catholic Church of Corrales. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Sanchez in 1989 and son, Benny Sanchez in 1998. Josie is survived by four children, Juanita Garcia and husband, Sammy of Corrales, Dioly Garbagni and husband, Johnny of Albuquerque, Ray Sanchez and wife, Corrine of Corrales, and Alice Sanchez of Corrales; two sisters, Mela Martinez of Winslow, AZ and Racheal Griego of Gallup, NM; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Sisneros -- David V."Froggy" Sisneros, 61, passed away in Albuquerque on December 2, 1999. He was born in Los Angeles, CA, but had lived in Albuquerque most of his life. He was a veteran of the US Navy and had worked as an electrician and taught electrical classes for J.A.T.C. He was a member of the I.B.EW. for over 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Mary Sisneros; a son, Vincent Sisneros; a daughter, Monica Alderete and husband, Chris; and a sister, Della Howard and husband, Neal. He is also survived by a granddaughter, Nicole Alderete; a grandson, Vincent Sisneros Jr.; and a great-granddaughter, Delicia Marie Salas. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday evening, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. at Chapel of Sandia Funeral Care. Tippy -- Dorothy Nell Tippy, 74, a resident of Albuquerque for 50 years, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 24, 1999. Wheeless -- Jesse Wheeless, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Wednesday, December 1, 1999. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Deltha B.
