Purley -- Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, Dorothy R. Purley, left us to be with the Great Spirit on Thursday, December 2nd. She was loved by many people throughout the world. Dorothy was a well known environmental activist and pledged her life to protect our Earth Mother. She battled cancer for eight years and will continue to fight in spirit. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Carletta, and son, Myron Garcia, grandsons, Zachary and Spencer Garcia. She is also survived by her sister, Ms. Virginia Romero and her adopted children, Roland Curtis, Paul Whiteagle, David Wilson, Linda Pershall, granddaughter, Alaina Pershall, nephews, Alfred, Willard, Kenneth and Richard Romero. Rosary will be recited on Sunday, December 5th, 7:00 p.m., at the Romero residence in Paguate. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 6th at 11:00 a.m., in St. Elizabeth Church at Paguate. Pallbearers will be Dr. Manuel Pino of Arizona, Alvino Waconda and Joseph Chopito of Paguate, and Duane Vallo of Acomita.
