Wheeless -- Jesse Wheeless, 83, a resident of Albuquerque since 1985, died Wednesday, December 1, 1999. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Deltha B. Wheeless of Albuquerque; daughter, Judith M. Hill and husband, Tony of Oklahoma City, OK; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sister, Lillian Turonis and husband, Hank of Colorado; brothers, Charless Wheeless and wife, Virginia of Albuquerque and Gussie Wheeless and wife, Evelyn of Santa Fe; stepsister, Jeanine Schmidt of Santa Fe; and many close friends and neighbors. Mr. Wheeless retired in 1957 after 20 years of service in the U.S. Navy. He was employed by the Atomic Energy Commission in Los Alamos until 1981. Graveside services will be held Monday, 1:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Sunday, 2:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. and family will be present to greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
