Cordova -- Richard Charles Cordova, 50, a resident of Los Lunas died Thursday, July 8, 1999. He was a United States Air Force veteran and a civilian employee of Kirtland Air Force Base. He was a dedicated husband to his wife of 24 years to Marie Elizabeth Cordova; loving father of daughter Mercedes Jean Cordova, her fiancee, Juan Calderon. Richard is also survived by his sisters, Anna Rivera, husband, Ron of San Diego, CA, Alice Calvillo, husband, Mike of AZ and Carol Baca and husband, George of Raton, NM; brothers, Phillip Cordova, Pat Cordova and Tony Cordova of Albuquerque. Richard is also survived by many other relatives and friends. A special"THANKS YOU" to all of the many friends who were a great support during Richard's battle with cancer. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service is scheduled at Rio Grande Seventh Day Adventist Church located at Iliff and Atrisco on Wednesday, July 14, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. A mass is scheduled at the Immaculate Conception Church located at 619 Copper NW on Friday, July 16, 1999 at 10:00 a.m. with the burial to take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe later that day. Family will gather after services. All friends are welcomed. Cremation was provided by Metropolitan Direct Burial and Cremation Center, Inc. 766-9400.

Dix -- Mildred"Millie" Dix, 91, a resident of Albuquerque since 1996, died Saturday, July 3, 1999. She is survived by her daughter, Polly Dix Schaafsma and husband, Curtis of Santa Fe; grandsons, Hoski Schaafsma of Tempe, AZ, Pieter Schaafsma and wife, Keith of Flagstaff, AZ; and brother, Henry Gafvert of Massachusetts. Mrs. Dix was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Dix. Mrs. and Mr. Dix were residents of North Springfield, VT for many years prior to moving to New Mexico. They were residents of Deming from 1979 to 1996. Mrs. Dix was a skilled photographer and received many awards. Private Disposition has taken place. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd., NE.

Dover -- Rose Dover, age 97, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico since 1983, died peacefully at her home on July 8, 1999. She was born in New York City in 1902 and was a resident of Los Angeles, California for 50 years before moving to New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Dover; and a daughter, Irma Mark. She is survived by her son, Edmund Dover of Albuquerque; grandson, Stephen Mark of Raleigh, NC; grandson, Robert Mark of Huntington Beach, CA; and granddaughter, Jeanie McClellan of Albuquerque, NM. She also leaves three great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. At her request, there will be no services. Cremation is being handled by the Sunrise Cremation Society.

Duff -- Major Sybil K. Duff died June 28, 1999 at Fort Lyon Military Hospital in Las Animas, Colorado. She had been in the hospital for a few years. She was a graduate in Nursing from Kingston General Hospital in Ontario, Canada. She was nursing in Detroit when the United States went to war. She joined the Nursing Unit, was in Active Service and in the Peace Time Army (France, Germany, and Japan). When Sybil was"Paraded Out" after 24 years, a Citation was read commending her demanding and excellent Service to the G.I.'s and to the United States Army. Sybil leaves two sisters, Mary and Betty; 30 nieces and nephews. We salute the Major with love. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 12, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Chapel, Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Home, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Eberhardy -- Vernon Joseph Eberhardy, 69, a resident of New Mexico since 1971, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Jane Eberhardy of the family home; daughters, Joette Marie Haase and husband, Jerry of Tacoma, WA, Dana Jean Gonzales and husband, Armando of Dixon, NM, Christy Ann Kieser and husband, Earl of Las Vegas, NV, and Theresa Louise Bird and husband, Michael of Albuquerque; son, Scott Mathias Eberhardy of Espanola; grandchildren, Marie Charlotte Miller and husband, Gary and Jessica Lynn Haase, all of Tacoma, WA, Christopher Paul Kieser in the U.S. Marine Corps in San Diego, CA, Shaunna Lynn Kieser of Las Vegas, NV, Rhiannon Lynn Bird of Albuquerque, and Damian Edward Gonzales of Dixon, NM; sisters, Audrey Schroeder and husband, Julian of Littleton, NC and Carol Trimberger and husband, Leon of Fair Oaks, CA; brother, Roger Eberhardy of Sheboygan, WI; and many, many other relatives. Mr. Eberhardy served in the U.S. Army. He was a former member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church, was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, was a member of the Holy Name Society, and was manager of the Holy Ghost Church Bingo. He was also a member of American Legion Post #99. Mr. Eberhardy retired from General Electric. Garcia -- Jose Albino Garcia, 72, formerly of Carnuel, NM, and recently of Adelino, NM, passed away on Friday, July 9, 1999. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was employed by PNM/Southern Union Gas Company, retiring in 1986 after 41 years of dedicated service. He will be missed by his loving family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Jacobita Garcia; brother, Servando Garcia; and sisters, Delluina and Della Garcia all of Carnuel. Jose is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Mela Garcia of Los Lunas; nine children, Albino M. Garcia, and his wife, Ermalinda of California, Matilda Garcia and her husband, John III of Belen; Patsy G. Hurbina of Belen, Roland Garcia and his fiancee, Rafaelita of Los Lunas, Charles Garcia and his wife, Mary Alice of Adelino, Lester Garcia and his wife, Susan of California, Marvin Garcia of Belen, Evelyn Garcia and husband, Leroy of Los Lunas, and Darlene Casaus and husband, Casey of Los Lunas; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, and three sisters, Daniel Garcia and his wife, Dora, George Garcia and his wife, Ramona, Genevive (Beba) Garcia, Cecilia Herrera and her husband, Fermin, and Ernestine Dubois and her husband, Max, all from Carnuel and the Albuquerque area; four sisters-in-law, Triny Duran of Adelino, Isabel Garcia, Florinda Herrera, and Margaret Herrera, all of Carnuel; and one brother-in-law, Antonio Baca of Adelino. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. There will be a visitation on Sunday from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 4:00 at Romero Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome. Griego -- Mr. Antonio M. Griego Jr., 60, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on July 8, 1999. Mr. Griego is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Mrs. Betty Griego; his father, Mr. Antonio M. Griego Sr.; two sons, Gene Aaron Griego and Leonard Jason Griego and wife, Michelle; two daughters, Bonnie Maldonado and husband, Randy and Shirley Griego-Martinez; grandchildren, Felicia and Adan Maldonado, Kathy and Samantha Griego and Tomas Giron; three sisters, Lugie Gonzales and husband, Pablo, Mary Ann Mora and husband, Billy, Virginia Luna and husband, Manuel. Mr. Griego was a member of the Catholic Church. Hall -- Anna Lee Baker Hall, 89, widow of Dr. Wm. F. Hall, passed away July 2, 1999, at the Rio Rancho Nursing Center, where she lived for the past three years. She is survived by a daughter, Pat Bray and husband, Richard of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Melinda Lee Dolan and husband, Terry of Albuquerque; grandson, Jon Ashton Bray and wife, Reta of Edgewood; great-grandchildren, Ella Lee Dolan, Joseph Dolan, Paul Jesse Bray and Fiona Bray; and many nieces, nephews and longtime friends. Anna was born to Dayton and Eva Lee Baker at LeBelle, Missouri, December 22, 1909, and was predeceased by her parents; four brothers; and one sister. She was a registered Osteopathic nurse, graduating from Laughlin Training School, Kirksville, Missouri, in 1935. She met her husband while working in Houston, Texas, and later they lived in El Paso for many years. Dr. Hall died in 1965, and she continued nursing until retirement in 1971. She moved to Albuquerque in 1978 to be near her family, living at Brentwood Gardens until 1996. Anna was a member of St. Stephen's United Methodist church, and memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Stephen's music program, which gave her much joy. Cremation was arranged by Sunrise Society, and the family wishes to thank them for their sensitive assistance, as well as that of Hospice and the wonderful people at the Rio Rancho Nursing Center. A private family picnic and musical celebration of her life will be held this autumn in the mountains she loved.

Jara -- Corina L. Jara passed away on July 7, 1999. She had suffered a great illness that took her life, but is now at peace. She was born on June 14, 1946. She is survived by her wonderful husband, Carlos Jara; his mother and sister, Margarita and Alma Jara; a loving son, Dominic Vasquez; her daughter and two granddaughters, Yvonne, Maria and Gabriela Chacon; two brothers, Eloy and wife, Nancy Nunez and Donald Lucero. She is also survived by many loving friends and family. She worked several years for the State. Corina was an outstanding mother, grandmother, wife, friend, sister, and all around person. Lopez -- Mr. Blas A. Lopez, born 25 May 1911 in Las Vegas, NM, died 10 July 1999 in Rio Rancho, NM at the age of 88. A graduate of Highlands University, he had an active career in education. He was a teacher in the public schools in Las Vegas, a Spanish language instructor at Highlands University and served as principal of various schools in Las Vegas, Wagon Mound and Zuni, NM. He was the county school superintendent for rural schools in San Miguel County from 1956 to 1967. He is survived by his wife, Beatrice V. Lopez of Rio Rancho; a son, Bernard B. Lopez of Tesuque; a daughter, Marie J. Lopez of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Mary Ella Buckland of Los Alamos; and grandchildren, Raquel Lopez, Antonio Lopez, Nicola Lopez and Clea Lopez. A Memorial Mass for Mr. Lopez will be held on Wednesday time and place to be announced. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Mary Lou McGovern will be remembered as a Loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. Survivors include husband, Ken McGovern of Edgewood, NM; two sons and daughter-in-law, K.C. Mcqueen -- Jacqueline (Jackie) McQueen, 79, a resident of Albuquerque for 23 years, died Wednesday, July 7, 1999. She is survived by her son, Edward D. Kunst of Belding, MI; granddaughter, Leigh Kunst of Princeton, NJ; brother, John R. Rauser of Exton, PA; and sisters, June Alflen of Deltona, FL and Roberta Middendorp of Grand Rapids, MI. She retired from Rapistan Corp in Grand Rapids, MI, after 27 years. She later retired from Sandia National Labs in Albuquerque after 12 years. Mondragon -- Mrs. Margaret S. Mondragon, (Grandma) was born in San Miguel, NM on February 23, 1912. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Newman, former husband, Pete A. Mondragon and four grandchildren, Ruth and Kenneth Mascarenas, Michael Lucero and Marie Atencio. Margaret worked in the Post Office in Van Houten, NM in the late forties and early fifties. She also ran a grocery store in Isleta Pueblo during the seventies. She is survived by three daughters, Nancy Mascarenas, of Raton, Mary Lucero of Bernalillo, and Rose Newman; stepdaughter, Fannie Lucero; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren, also by the extended Jaramillo family, a very good friend, Gale Peveler whom she considered the son that she never had, and also, last but not least, by her Grand-dogs, Biscuit, Gravy, Jude, Golden and Freddie. The family would like to extend our thanks to the staff at the Paloma Blanca Nursing Home, especially"her" Catalina. Funeral services for Mrs. Mondragon will be held on Monday at the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish where the Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A reception will follow the burial at the Nativity Church Parish Hall. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Heidi, George, Benny and Joe Lucero, Larry Allman and her great-grandson, Joe Atencio. A Rosary will be recited by her niece Carmen Tomassi at the Nativity Church on Sunday evening at 7:00 p.m. Visitations will be held on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 3rd St. SW.

Otero -- Genoveva Otero, 95, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died on July 3, 1999. She was born January 3, 1904 in Liberty, New Mexico. She is survived by her sons, John F. Otero and wife, Helen of Corte Madera, CA, Jose F. Otero and wife, Vivian of Las Cruces, NM, Ben Otero and wife, Elizabeth of Shorewood, WI; daughters, Bessie Garcia of Albuquerque, Frances Castillo and husband, Tobias of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Emma Otero of Gallup NM; sister-in-law, Mary Goldenberg of Tucumcari, NM; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Otero; and her son, James P. Otero. Genoveva was a loving and devoted wife and mother, doting grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place by Direct Services. Peterson -- Carl E. Peterson, age 92, born in Spanish Fork, UT, a resident of Albuquerque since early 1930's, died Friday, July 9, 1999. He was married to his first wife, Cleo Bate Peterson for 43 years and was preceded in death by her and two sons, Keith and Don and one brother, Jack Peterson. He is survived by his wife, Edna L. Hunlow Peterson to whom he was married 25 years, and son, Jerry Dale Peterson and wife, Carolyn; and grandson, Phillippe Peterson, all of Cathedral City, CA. He started as a lineman with Mt. Bell and worked his way up to Division Supervisor, retiring in 1969. A member of the Highland Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and a ham radio operator call letters W5JLJ. Mr. Peterson's body will be taken to Anderson and Sons Mortuary in American Fork, Utah for graveside services at the American Fork Cemetery 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, 1999 with Mr. John Van Dorn officiating. Raimondi -- Angelina Raimondi, 89, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away July 8, 1999. Schrier -- John M. Schrier, 83, a resident of Albuquerque (Paradise Hills) for the past four years, passed away on Thursday, July 1, 1999. He served in the US Coast Guard during WWII, and had been a salesman in retail sales for 40 years before he retired. John was a member of the Paradise Hills United Methodist Church.
