Obituary for Duff

Major Sybil K. Duff died June 28, 1999 at Fort Lyon Military Hospital in Las Animas, Colorado. She had been in the hospital for a few years. She was a graduate in Nursing from Kingston General Hospital in Ontario, Canada. She was nursing in Detroit when the United States went to war. She joined the Nursing Unit, was in Active Service and in the Peace Time Army (France, Germany, and Japan). When Sybil was"Paraded Out" after 24 years, a Citation was read commending her demanding and excellent Service to the G.I.'s and to the United States Army. Sybil leaves two sisters, Mary and Betty; 30 nieces and nephews. We salute the Major with love. A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 12, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Chapel, Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Home, 3113 Carlisle Blvd. NE. Interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Fitzgerald & Son Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
