Obituary for Otero

Genoveva Otero, 95, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died on July 3, 1999. She was born January 3, 1904 in Liberty, New Mexico. She is survived by her sons, John F. Otero and wife, Helen of Corte Madera, CA, Jose F. Otero and wife, Vivian of Las Cruces, NM, Ben Otero and wife, Elizabeth of Shorewood, WI; daughters, Bessie Garcia of Albuquerque, Frances Castillo and husband, Tobias of Albuquerque; daughter-in-law, Emma Otero of Gallup NM; sister-in-law, Mary Goldenberg of Tucumcari, NM; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Otero; and her son, James P. Otero. Genoveva was a loving and devoted wife and mother, doting grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Cremation has taken place by Direct Services. Her cremains will be interred with her husband's. Memorial services are pending and will be announced. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th St. NW. 343-8008.
