Mcnama -- Mary Frances Nicholson McNama, daughter of Claude and Edna Nicholson, died Friday, April 19, 2002. She was born on February 6, 1922 and is survived by two sisters, Carrie Dowd and Florence Brooks; two children; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; son, Mike McNama and wife, Judy, their children, Heather, Shea, and Kim; daughter, Donna McBroom and her sons, Bart McBroom and wife, Leslie, their children, Janis, David, Kari and Wayne McBroom and wife, Martina. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Donald McNama in 1974; brothers, Claude Jr., Howard, and William; sisters, Edna Earl, Martha and Cansada. Mary devoted her life to her family. She worked for a time at TRW in California, then as a house sitter and babysitter in Albuquerque. She was very involved in the lives of Mitch and Matt Hunter and Dylan Dominguez. Mary graduated from Albuquerque High in 1940. The Memorial Service will be held at St John's Cathedral (4th and Silver) on Friday, April 26, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. The Very Rev. John B. Haverland, Dean Emeritus officiating. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Special Olympics in her name. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th NW Albuquerque, 343-8008.

Brady -- Edwin T. Brady, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret.) B.A., M.A. of Baltimore, Maryland and Albuquerque, New Mexico, died peacefully in Albuquerque on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at the age of 84. His first wife, Genevieve Garey Brady, died in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Y. Brady; his son, Patrick T. Brady, his wife, Maria, and their sons, Michael and Philippe of Houston, TX; his daughter, Major Michele M. Brady USAF (Ret.) of Nacogdoches, TX; brothers, Donald C. Brady of Baltimore and Norman C. Brady of Los Alamitos, CA; and his sister, Sister M. Benedict Brady of Mercy Hospital Center, Baltimore. Lt. Col. Brady served on Saipan and Guam during WWII; at K-2, Korea in 1953; on Eniwetok during Operation Castle in 1954. He was Director of Operation for AACS / AFCS in Korea (1953) and Alaska (1959); and as Director of Telecommunications for the Continental AFCS Region at Tinker AFB, OK. After retirement in 1963, he received BA and MA degrees from the University of New Mexico and taught Language Arts and Reading at Sandia High School in Albuquerque, NM from 1965 to 1970. He captained his soccer and baseball teams at Towson High School, MD in 1936-1937 and was Senior Class President. His last soccer game in Baltimore was December 7, 1941. His passion for sports as player, coach, commentator, and spectator spanned his lifetime. In lieu of flowers request memorials to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1900 Mark Ave., Gallup, NM 87301. Memorial Service will be held at St. Bernadette's Church, in Albuquerque on Friday, April 26, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no public viewing and private disposition of his cremated remains has been arranged. The Sunrise Society of New Mexico is coordinating the arrangements.

Mack -- Patrick Timothy Mack, born September 19, 1978, died suddenly Saturday, April 20, 2002. He graduated from Manzano High School in 1997, and was a junior at the University of New Mexico. He excelled in many athletic activities and was a distinguished student. Patrick had numerous precious friends. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Patti and Jack Scherer; his brothers, Christopher Mack, Brian and Chris Scherer; his father, Kim Mack; his grandparents, Oliver and Becky Frei, Mary Mack, and Jean Scherer; his great grandmother, Mary Frei; his aunts and uncles, Lori Carroll, Barbi and James Grace, Larry Frei, Sean and Lynn Frei, Lee Hightower, Tex and Terri Scherer, and Bruce Scherer. His many cousins included Kathryn and Kristina Grace, Donald and Brandon Carroll, Brian and Jason Frei. He had a great aunt and uncle Janet and Paul Tafoya. Special thank you from the family to Matthew Henderson for his long and endearing friendship with Patrick.

Tennent -- Donald Horton Tennent, loving husband of Helen Standard Tennent, passed away on April 22, 2002 at the age of 78. He is also survived by his four sons, Donald Tennent and wife, Nancy Kirkwood, William Tennent, James Tennent and wife, Pamela, Edward Tennent; and four grandchildren, Jimmy, Jennifer, Drew, and Hannah. He was born May 2, 1923, grew up in New York, and joined the U.S. Air Force on December 9, 1942. He served as a B24 pilot in the China-Burma theater in World War II. He retired from the Air Force in 1962 and flew civilian aircraft in Hawaii. Later in his career he worked for H&R Block and for the IRS in New Mexico, retiring from the IRS in 1993. He was a member of the Commemorative Air Force, 7th Bomber Group, Experimental Aircraft Association, American Legion, Elks, and Quiet Birdmen. Services will be held Saturday, April 27, 2002 at 5:30 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church, 3701 Carlisle, NE, In Albuquerque. Burial will be on Monday, April 29, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. He will be missed by his family and his many friends. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of New Mexico in lieu of flowers.

Watts -- Elsie Mae Watts, 78, a longtime resident of Los Lunas, passed away after a long illness Thursday, April 18, 2002. She is survived by; her daughters, Nancy Bratton and husband, Charlie of Los Lunas and Carol Mann; grandchildren, Michael, Felicia, Kaley and John Brophy, Jeffrey and Donald Guthrie and Nancy Lee Mann; sisters, Irene Hemby and Hazel Renzi; and brother, John Doyle. Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her husband, Don Watts. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.

Gabaldon -- Phillip E. Gabaldon, 53, a resident of Albuquerque and formerly of Los Chavez passed away on April 18, 2002. He was a member of the Holy Family Church in Albuquerque. Phillip retired from GTE Lenkurt as a Maintenance Technician after twenty-two years of dedicated service. After his retirement, he went to the Motor Cycle Mechanic Institute in Phoenix, AZ. and graduated in 1994. After his graduation, he went to work at Nail Fast in Albuquerque as a pneumatic tools mechanic. Phillip was a top-notch Harley Davidson mechanic and Harley owners always sought him out to work on their bikes or just to shoot the breeze about motorcycles. He was a long time member of the Harley Owners Group. Next to his love for his family, he loved when his wife, Angie would go with him on long runs on their"Hog." All his family individually accompanied him out on the road on many occasions. Phillips sense of humor and caring ways will be dearly missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank D. and Mary S. Gabaldon; his brother and sister, Salomon and Rosie Gabaldon. Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Angie; his children, Phillip Gabaldon Jr. and his wife, Sue of Belen; Valerie Gabaldon and her fiancé, Andrew Ulibarri; Victoria Gabaldon and Adrian Platero, both of the family home in Albuquerque; his grandchildren, Amanda, Alexis, and Mateo; his twin brother, Philbert and his wife, Lydia, of Los Lunas; and his sister-in-law, Mrs. Beckie Gabaldon of Anaheim, CA. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins. A viewing will be held on Friday, April 19, 2002 at 5:30 p.m. in the Romero Funeral Home Chapel followed by a rosary at 6:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Los Chavez on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 9:30 a.m., with Father Tom officiating. Lanz0 -- Frank Lanzo, age 58, passed away April 15, 2002 after a long illness. He was a resident of the Albuquerque area for 23 years. He leaves behind his life companion and care giver, Kathleen Marshall. He is survived by his beloved family, mother, Ida Lanzo of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sisters, Eneida Eriyamulla, Elaine Ortiz, and Doreen Williams of Newburg, NY, Carmen Lanzo, Irene Demetrio, and Linda Soto of New York City and Sandy Jefferies of Ft. Lauderdale; sons, Bob Lanzo, Jeoffrey Lanzo, Eric and wife, Angela Lanzo of Amarillo, TX and Joseph Lanzo of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, P.J. of Los Lunas; two grandchildren, Courtney and Kyler Lanzo. His hard work, wonderful sense of humor, beautiful smile and love of his family will be missed. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the National Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association. The family wishes to thank his health care givers for their loving care, concern and patience especially Dr. Ivan Pinon, Dr. Donald Saye, and the staff at DCI in Rio Rancho and the staff of UNM Hospital, you all made his illness bearable, Thanks. Helms -- "J.P." Helms, 75, a resident of Mountainair, NM, passed away Sunday, April 14, 2002 in Albuquerque. He was born August 3, 1926, to Joe and Janie E. (Murphree) Helms in Elida, NM. He married his wife, Ernestene of 51 year's, September 6, 1951 in Clovis, NM. She survives him of the home, he is also survived by his sons, Joe Helms and his wife, Tracy of Texline, TX, Preston Helms of Seattle, WA; his daughter, Patsy Kingston and her husband, Red of Mountainair, NM; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leslie and Joe J.R. Helms. Jesse was a member of the American Legion in Mountainair, he was a very loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend, he will be missed by those who knew and loved him. Jesse will lie in state Tuesday April 16, 2002, 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at the Mountainair Chapel. Services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at the Harris-Hanlon Chapel in Mountainair, NM with Pastor Don Hayhurst officiating. Pallbearers will be, Jack Green, Ray Clark, Bobby Mathews, Ben Creighton, Jr. Donald Creighton, Greg Brazil. Honorary Pallbearers will be all his lifelong friends. Burial will be at the Mountainair cemetery in Mountainair. Arrangements were entrusted to the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary in Mountainair, NM.

Ryan -- Donald H. "Don" Ryan, 79, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002. He is survived by his wife, Duanne Ryan of Albuquerque; children, Michael Ryan and wife, Donna of Durango, CO, Connie Ryan of Albuquerque, Dan Ryan and wife, Peggy of Tucson, AZ, Colleen Domme and husband, Dan, Kelly Ryan and wife, Rita, Marty Ryan, Duffy Ryan, all of Albuquerque, Mindy Hancock and husband, Wes, Lori Salopek and husband, Frank, all of Las Cruces and Kerry Van Amburg and husband, Steve of Albuquerque; 33 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Kay McClain and husband, Jim of California and Carole Hein and husband, Joe of Iowa; and brothers, Jim Ryan and wife, Lois of Iowa and Tom Ryan of California. Mr. Ryan was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the European Theatre during WWII. He worked for over 20 years at Sears. Mr. Ryan also worked, for over 30 years, with the Archdiocese of Santa Fe as the General Manager of Gate of Heaven Cemetery. He was known for a great sense of humor, his love of life and especially, his love for his family. Don will be greatly missed. Mass will be celebrated Friday, April 12, 2002, at 10:30 a.m., at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael F.
