Brady -- Edwin T. Brady, Lt. Col., USAF (Ret.) B.A., M.A. of Baltimore, Maryland and Albuquerque, New Mexico, died peacefully in Albuquerque on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at the age of 84. His first wife, Genevieve Garey Brady, died in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Y. Brady; his son, Patrick T. Brady, his wife, Maria, and their sons, Michael and Philippe of Houston, TX; his daughter, Major Michele M. Brady USAF (Ret.) of Nacogdoches, TX; brothers, Donald C. Brady of Baltimore and Norman C. Brady of Los Alamitos, CA; and his sister, Sister M. Benedict Brady of Mercy Hospital Center, Baltimore. Lt. Col. Brady served on Saipan and Guam during WWII; at K-2, Korea in 1953; on Eniwetok during Operation Castle in 1954. He was Director of Operation for AACS / AFCS in Korea (1953) and Alaska (1959); and as Director of Telecommunications for the Continental AFCS Region at Tinker AFB, OK. After retirement in 1963, he received BA and MA degrees from the University of New Mexico and taught Language Arts and Reading at Sandia High School in Albuquerque, NM from 1965 to 1970. He captained his soccer and baseball teams at Towson High School, MD in 1936-1937 and was Senior Class President. His last soccer game in Baltimore was December 7, 1941. His passion for sports as player, coach, commentator, and spectator spanned his lifetime. In lieu of flowers request memorials to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1900 Mark Ave., Gallup, NM 87301. Memorial Service will be held at St. Bernadette's Church, in Albuquerque on Friday, April 26, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no public viewing and private disposition of his cremated remains has been arranged. The Sunrise Society of New Mexico is coordinating the arrangements.
