RAMIREZ, CATHERINE V. age 76, born May 26, 1938 to Alonzo & Francisca Van Damme of Albuquerque, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, entered into her Eternal Home, Saturday, March 7, 2015. Catherine is survived by her husband, of fifty nine and a half years, Tony P. Ramirez; children, Michael A. Ramirez and wife, Jane, Kathleen Ramirez, JoAnn Montoya and husband, John, Collette Archuleta and husband, Gary; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Catherine was preceded in death by her son, Thomas, and grandson, Jonathan Montoya. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt and friend. Catherine's pride and joy was her family for whom she cooked a Spanish dinner every Monday. She was a loyal servant in the Roman Catholic Community, and was a member of the Franciscan 3rd Order, the Legion of Mary, a Eucharist Minister, and was involved in the prison ministry in her younger years. Catherine taught Catechism and Confirmation for twenty-four years to hundreds of children at Queen of Angels Chapel, Santa Ana Pueblo, and Sandia Pueblo. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Aquinas Newman Catholic Center 1815 Las Lomas Rd. NE. Final visitation will be Wednesday, March 11, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Aquinas Newman Catholic Center . Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tommy Archuleta, Adam Archuleta, Steven Archuleta, James Archuleta, Jacob Montoya, Jerry Sandoval. MONTOYA, ELOY age 96, a lifelong resident of the Village of La Bajada, NM passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. Mr. Montoya is survived by children, Eloy B. Montoya Jr., Rosella Urrea, Patricia Diane Montoya; brother, Emiterio Montoya Jr.; his grandchildren, Fabrienne, Millicent, Greg, Erick, Gabrielle, David, Jessica, Erica, and Laura; his great-grandchildren, Michael, Tristen, James, Vivien, Adrian, Lorena, Andrea, Erick Jr., Courtnee, Rylee, Ayvree, Michaela, Ethan, Jayden, Elijah, and Isabella; his dog, Buddy; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. GRIEGO, PEDRO D. age 94, born in Manzano, NM and a resident of Albuquerque, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at home with his family at his side. Mr. Griego is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Dolores; children, Michael Griego, Robert Garner, and Elaine Marquez; his grandchildren, David Marquez and wife, Melissa, PJ Garner, Diana Marquez; great-grandchildren, Joshua Marquez, Marissa Marquez, Dezaray Garner, Deana Garner, and Julian Marquez; sister, Carmen Thompson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mr. Griego was preceded in death by his son, Pedro Griego Jr.; grandson, Dennis Marquez; parents, Salvador and Maria Griego. Mr. Griego was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in WWII, an honorary member of Labor Union Local 16. Mr. Griego played senior softball for the Barelas Senior Center. GARCIA, JOSEPH W. age 92, a resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord, Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Mr. Garcia is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Rosemary; children, Steven J. Garcia and wife, Anita, Margaret Lynn Garcia and husband, Danny Lucero, Michael Gary Garcia and wife, Rita Ann, Michelle Garcia and husband, Earl Holmes; fifteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Garcia was a member of the Catholic Church, a member of the AFL-CIO Local 391 and a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, 1st Marine Division on Guadalcanal. The first offensive against the Japanese. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal, two Bronze Stars, the Presidential unit citation with Ribbon Bar was awarded to the first Marine Division for the Capture and Defense of Guadalcanal in World War II. The secretary of the Navy characterized this offensive: "the officers and enlisted men of the First Marine Division demonstrated outstanding gallantry. The courage and determination displayed were of an inspiring order." Semper Fi Mac. EHLINGER, DOROTHY M. Dorothy M. Ehlinger, age 85, passed away at her Albuquerque home on February 1, 2015. Dorothy loved to travel and took many trips with her daughter, Patricia, who describes her as "the perfect, fun and adventurous travel companion." Dorothy always loved coming home, too, because her favorite place was New Mexico. She was kind and generous, had a great sense of humor and love of animals. She was deeply loved & will be greatly missed by Patricia; her son, Michael; and close friends whom she called "her other children" - Richard Hinds, Aleta and John Hallemeier, Randy Mosteller, Anna Gabaldon and Beth Kihm. Many thanks to her friends who offered love and support. Dorothy will never be forgotten by those so lucky to know her.
